Regarding edits to ROSE Online

I actually copied the Story from Official Server(Japan and North America). This website http://www.game8.com/games/rose-online/ copied the Original Story from Official Server. Please do strong imbestigation about this issue. Thank You! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Noklang (talkcontribs) 04:14, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

@Noklang: Hey! I found your edit while I was scrolling through CopyPatrol. The way the CopyPatrol tool works is that it searches the content added in edits with content available online and show's a percentage similarity between them along with the link of that website - this way, finding copyright violations becomes a lot easier. http://www.game8.com/games/rose-online/ was the first link to show up there, so I assumed the content must've been copied from there. Coming back to the topic, regardless of where the information is taken from, be it the official servers or a different website, if one does not have the copyright permissions for the content from the original creator then it is not a suitable addition to Wikipedia. Furthermore, there was still the issue of the content being written in an in-universe perspective. To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much about it! Just make sure you understand the reason why the edit was reverted and try to not repeat it in the future. It takes time for most people to get used to editing on Wikipedia due to the various policies and guidelines, so if you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask me :) Jiten talk contribs 23:05, 6 November 2017 (UTC)

Oh don't worry about it! Mistakes happen! I often come across edits where pages are blanked or bad additions are made to articles, and assuming something similar, I posted the warning on your talk page. If you want the warning to be removed, feel free to let me know and I'll be more than happy to do so. :) Jiten talk contribs 14:05, 12 November 2017 (UTC)

@TheVengefulOne: People are here to build an encyclopedia. Many spend hours writing content, others make thousands of minor changes to various articles to make them as error-free as possible. Wikipedia is not your playground, so please refrain from making unconstructive edits that are against the spirit of this project. Regards, Jiten talk contribs 13:08, 15 November 2017 (UTC)

Cassini and Juno timeline

Earlier this month I added some dates to the years 1999 and 2013 to discuss about spacecraft flying by Earth for a Gravity assist, but you reverted them for not being notable. May I ask you elaborate? T is for Triton (talk) 20:24, 23 November 2017 (UTC) T is for Triton (talk) 20:24, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

We do not need to document every action of a space mission as an event of a particular year. If it happens to be something notable, such as the date that marks the launch, completion or failure of a mission, then a mention would be warranted. Often, events that are unique (such as the first successful flyby of a planet or other feats of space exploration) are also mentioned. The additions you made are already well documented in a list on the article about Planetary flyby's. Unfortunately, as was the case of the account you last edited with, I have to report you to SPI as a sockpuppet. Jiten talk contribs 21:15, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

A message from Harrybalster

Harrybalster (talk) 19:34, 23 November 2017 (UTC) Hello good sir,

I recently added a legendary Longmont High School alumni to the list of notable alumni on the LHS wikipedia page and am very worried you took him down because he was the only former student on that list who has special needs and we do not recognize people with special needs enough in our society. Perhaps my description of him upset you but everyone in and around the longmont community loves this man and he is very well-known. I hope you can find it in your heart to not be such a rascal and delete the nice note i wrote for this nice man.

Happy thanksgiving, Harry Balster

Hi HarryBalster! The reason I reverted your edit was because any addition to the list of notable residents of an city/town must have a stand-alone article. My edit was not against people with special needs and I'm sorry if it felt like it was; I'm all for their recognition in our society! While your heart is in the right place, Wikipedia is not a suitable platform for such additions. As an encyclopedia, it is important that information presented here is factual and well-sourced. Sorry again. Happy Thanksgiving and hope you have a great day! Jiten talk contribs 21:57, 23 November 2017 (UTC)

2601:191:8402:5F89:2829:5B1F:640A:7010 (talk) 06:46, 20 November 2017 (UTC) You are absolutely wrong about my edits.

My reaction to the phrase "wrongfully part of Ukraine" would be one of laughter, before telling the pissant who wrote it to, likely in their own words: "Crimea River". The word "presently" puts a timer on its status as a part of Ukraine, and implies further assault of the Ukrainian country, people, and identity as a whole.

As for the Little Russia edit you mentioned, Russians aren't demeaned by those kinds of comments; they jerk off to that kind of shit and much, much worse. Besides, if you truly knew anything about Russia, you'd know that Item 1 on their agenda is almost always to undermine Ukraine and its people.

And you are completely, totally, and utterly wrong about no one on Wikipedia trying to throw Ukrainians under the bus. Look at all the articles written about us: It's not a coincidence that most of them are worded in a way that undermines Ukraine's history, accentuates its defeats, and makes us out to be worse than Nazis when we finally do win. Hell, to give you a further example: I was simply trying to add in the Ukrainian translation for Algridas on the appropriate page, when a filthy lugan (Lithuanian slur) kept reverting it, claiming it's irrelevant, and a katzap (Russian slur) locked the page from editing. This was done all in spite of Ukraine, despite the fact that Algirdas himself was Ruthenian (Ukrainian), and the he obtained Kyivan Ruthenian (Ukrainian) territory from the Mongols in the Battle of Blue Waters in 1362. Despite this, only his Russian and Belarusian translations are presented, despite him having the greatest relevance to Ukraine as far as Eastern Slavic history goes. So don't tell me no one is trying to undermine my people and I, especially when I not only have seen it, but personally experienced it on this allegedly neutral site.

You're goddamn right I'm pro-Ukrainian, and I will remain that way regardless of what happens. And don't feed me crap and tell me it's chocolate; the wording on the Little Russian page clearly made it out that Ukrainians that hate to be referred to as "Little Russians" are "evul nashunalists". If that's your idea of productivity, I don't even want to imagine what you consider lethargy. I assure you: NO ONE from my side is annoyed by this particular action of mine. I couldn't give half of a piece of goat shit about the other side, the one attacking my country and killing my people, thinks on the matter.

My Ukrainian brethren may find some of my actions questionable, but defending our identity from personal attacks aimed at making us look evil for being offended at being conflated with a country and people that have oppressed us for over 800 years, that we have tried to separate ourselves from the whole time, is not, and never will be, one of them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:191:8402:5F89:2829:5B1F:640A:7010 (talk) 06:49, 20 November 2017 (UTC)

And look at the end result: The same Katzap that locked the Algirdas article did the same for the Little Russia one. By doing so, it's clear Wikipedia has a Ukrainophobic agenda, and you will be summarily punished for it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:191:8402:5F89:187B:242A:1FD4:4BD (talk) 00:12, 26 November 2017 (UTC)

Hi Jiten D

Today you reverted the section I wrote on the entry Yitzchok Zilberstein, I tried to convey true facts about the person, I tried to be as objective as possible. I think it is the public right to know these facts, I have no intentions to misdignify anyone just to inform people about possible risks I have numerous evidences about misconducting of Mr. Zilberstein that may bring about possible medical damage Hopefully to bring back my section

let me know what do you think ..

Sincerely, S.B

79.181.199.101 (talk) 16:14, 1 December 2017 (UTC)

Hey! Thanks for the message. Sorry I didn't explain the revert on your talk page; now that you're here, I can give my rationale for it. Any information that is posted on Wikipedia needs to be backed by reliable sources for the purpose of verifiability. However objective your analysis is, it is still classified as original research and thus, is not a suitable addition. Let's take the example of #4 in your edit. It is possible that the subject of the article gives out advice that may worsen someone's medical condition, but it is not the place for an encyclopedia to judge or report that. What can be reported is that the advice has adversely affected people (provided that the piece of information has been published by, say, a reliable newspaper agency). Even then, it wouldn't be suitable to say the person's advice is harmful. An encyclopedia can report facts, but how to judge the person based on those facts is up to the reader. If you have any more queries or need clarification, feel free to post here again. Jiten talk contribs 17:24, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
Hi, I appreciate your detailed response
I am certain that Yitzchok Zilberstein is misleading the public by using misrepresentation and false facts about himself, I know few people including myself that Suffered medical damage because of him. I am seeking for a platform to publicize what I know in order to prevent future incidents like what I experienced on my flesh and protect the public health. Is Wikipedia is the appropriate place for this purpose , how can I use Wikipedia to promote my legitimate right to inform indecent offenses ?
79.181.199.101 (talk) 22:46, 1 December 2017 (UTC)
Unfortunately, Wikipedia is not the right platform for publicizing views or promoting an idea (there are other platforms like popular social networking sites for that purpose). Unless your experience or those of others has been reported in a newspaper or any other reliable source of information, it is not suitable for the article. Understandably, an encyclopedia like this one cannot take the word of mouth of any one person (or even multiple people for that matter) as facts, especially on articles about living persons, because it could be used to defame someone. Due to this reason, any allegations of scamming or crimes are always supported by several sources. Jiten talk contribs 12:12, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

If an edit is made without logging into a registered account, it will show as an IP edit which means the edit will be linked to the IP from which the it was made. This was the case with the edit you made as well. Technically, it is possible to know the general location (narrowed down to perhaps a region in a city) in which one lives by knowing the IP address. However, it is not possible to know the exact location. Are you sure it was a mistake? It appears you have made multiple such edits: 1, 2, 3. Jiten talk contribs 23:01, 16 December 2017 (UTC)

A message from Ibeyz

Hello Jiten,

Thanks for the feedback. I do believe my comment on Rian Johnson's wiki page was more than accurate based on current sentiment and responses from both fans and critics alike. But I can ameliorate my comment to ensure that it is neutral, offering positions from both sides of the aisle. I have made an edit below, please let me know what we can do to make this palatable. I have not included the proper edits to enable links and will do so once you have provided further feedback. Thanks very much!

"As is evident after the film's opening, Johnson had never seen a Star Wars movie prior to accepting this employment opportunity. Through inexperience and a complete lack of understanding, Johnson created a good movie if no other Star Wars movies existed before. Critics responded favorably while fans credit Johnson with completely destroying Star Wars."

Ibeyz (talk) 21:29, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello Ibeyz! The problem with the proposed edit is that it still fails to abide by some of Wikipedia's policies. The line "As is evident after the film's opening, Johnson had never seen a Star Wars movie prior to accepting this employment opportunity." is unsuitable for addition because it counts as original research. Unless stated by a reliable source, we cannot hypothesize that Rian Johnson hasn't seen a Star Wars movie. Furthermore, the line "Through inexperience and a complete lack of understanding, Johnson created a good movie if no other Star Wars movies existed previously." describes how bad/good the movie is, which is something that cannot be judged by an encyclopaedia - an encyclopaedia cannot offer criticism and neither can it describe people as "inexperienced". However, if those exact words were used by, say a famous critic to describe the movie and the critic's remarks appeared in a newspaper article, then it would be suitable to report the quote (quotation marks make it clear that it is not the encyclopaedia that is judging the movie, it is the critic). As for the last line of the proposed edit, that would again require a reliable source to back the claim. Hope this helped! If you have any more queries, feel free to ask! Jiten talk contribs 21:56, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello Jiten,

I definitely do see your points as valid and appreciate your feedback. I appreciate very much you taking the time to provide me with the necessary information required to ensure Rian Johnson's page remains as accurate as intended while still maintaining the high standard of information afforded by Wikipedia. As 'The Last Jedi' is somewhat new, I am positive that 'famous critics' as well as 'reliable journalistic sources' will begin to provide further feedback once they have had the opportunity to view the so-called film. In the meantime, I will look to revisit our conversation once the requested sources can be obtained and shared. Again, I thank you very much for your patience as well as your insight into maintaining accuracy on Rian Johnson a.k.a the man who destroyed Star Wars.

Thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ibeyz (talkcontribs) 22:17, 20 December 2017 (UTC)

Hello Sonaldigital! I removed the link because it was directed to the website of a particular consulting firm. yes but i want to know then how i put that link is there any way to submit this link to wikipedia Sonaldigital (talk) 09:57, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

@Sonaldigital: There is no means to 'submit' links on Wikipedia, it is directly removed from or added to articles. Since the link is unsuitable for addition on that particular article, I'm afraid it cannot be included. Jiten talk contribs 10:09, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

can please tell me if possible Sonaldigital (talk) 10:24, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

@Sonaldigital: If the article is specifically regarding that consultancy firm, then the link can be added since it would count as the 'official website'. However, before you write an article, please go through this advice page. Articles on any topic must meet the notability guideline (WP:NCORP in this case), be sourced by multiple independent reliable sources and be written in in a neutral tone so that it doesn't appear promotional. I suggest you read through the links I've provided before moving forward with creating articles. If you have any further questions, feel free to ask! Thank you! I stumbled across the account while scrolling through user creation log. I've been interesting in page reviewing for a while now, but I was holding it off till I wrote an article or two myself. Apart from a few major copyedit's, I don't have a lot of experience in content creation. Seeing the AfC backlog shoot up, I might consider joining NPP. Once ACTRIAL is over, there will likely be a shift in workload from AfC to NPP and gaining some experience in reviewing pages before ACTRIAL ends would certainly allow me to assist in combating the shift. However, before I apply, it would be great if you could give a quick assessment of my judgement in CSD tagging and general response to new editors. I haven't participated much in AfDs, only 6 votes so far. Happy Holidays! :) Jiten talk contribs 10:16, 24 December 2017 (UTC)

New page reviewer

Hello Jiten D. Your account has been added to the "New page reviewers" user group, allowing you to review new pages and mark them as patrolled, tag them for maintenance issues, or in some cases, tag them for deletion. The list of articles awaiting review is located at the New Pages Feed. New page reviewing is a vital function for policing the quality of the encylopedia, if you have not already done so, you must read the new tutorial at New Pages Review, the linked guides and essays, and fully understand the various deletion criteria. If you need more help or wish to discuss the process, please join or start a thread at page reviewer talk.

  • URGENT: Please consider helping get the huge backlog down to a manageable number of pages as soon as possible.
  • Be nice to new users - they are often not aware of doing anything wrong.
  • You will frequently be asked by users to explain why their page is being deleted - be formal and polite in your approach to them too, even if they are not.
  • Don't review a page if you are not sure what to do. Just leave it for another reviewer.
  • Remember that quality is quintessential to good patrolling. Take your time to patrol each article, there is no rush. Use the message feature and offer basic advice.

The reviewer right does not change your status or how you can edit articles. If you no longer want this user right, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. In case of abuse or persistent inaccuracy of reviewing, the right can be revoked at any time by an administrator. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 11:38, 25 December 2017 (UTC)

Thank you Kudpung! Caught me by surprise there a little bit. I was expecting to see an assessment of my contributions. I suppose there were no major red flags in them. Bearcat Wilson Page

I'm fairly new to wikipedia editing and page making. It is a work in progress. I insure you it is not page vandalism. TimeLord15 (talk) 15:31, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

@TimeLord15: Hello again! Sorry if I came off as rude in my message! I did not mean to imply that the page was vandalism - just that the subject of the article might not meet the notability guidelines. In hindsight, I should've waited at least 10 minutes before tagging the article for deletion. Since creating your first article can be a bit challenging (such as learning how to source an article, adding pictures and an infobox, etc), I'd suggest that you recreate the article in draft space. To do so, simple click this link: Wikipedia:Article wizard. You'll go through a few steps that will give you some useful information on how to write an article. Once you've written the draft, all you have to do is submit it for review and an experienced editor will assess the article and release it to article space if it meets Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Again, sorry for not explaining properly in my previous message. If you have anymore queries, feel free to ask me! I'll try my best to help you. Jiten talk contribs 15:46, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

It's fine! Thanks for the advice! :-). I'm working on it in draft right now. - TimeLord15 — Preceding unsigned comment added by TimeLord15 (talkcontribs) 16:01, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

TimeLord15, no problem! Do remember to read through the notability guideline for biographies before you submit the draft for review. I did a quick google search for the subject of the article and I wasn't able to find much information that would help establish notability. It's not uncommon for people to spend time creating a draft only to have it rejected because it failed to meet the required criteria. Jiten talk contribs 16:37, 27 December 2017 (UTC)

Sandra Bullock was born in America and not both her parents are even German

Hello I see you reverted my edit of Sandra Bullock's page. She was born in America and therefore should be described as an American of German descent. At most! She is not even 100% from Germany. According to your article itself it says she was born in the USA. That makes her American. She can identify all she wants with Germany, but as an immigrant, I will take a clear stance on this issue. I am born in India, but came here as a baby. There is no way I am going to agree with the last edit based on the rest of the article which is footnoted.

"Bullock was born in Arlington, Virginia. Her father, John W. Bullock (born 1925), was a United States Army employee and part-time voice coach; her mother, Helga Mathilde Meyer (1942–2000), was an opera singer and voice teacher.[6][7] Helga was German, while John is from Birmingham, Alabama and has English, French, German, and Irish ancestry.[8][9][10] "

Therefore please note that she is American, with half German mother and half American. With her mother German. And her father of English, French, German and Irish ancestry.

Sincerely,

Kanchan Mahon Kanchan Mahon (talk) 23:58, 22 January 2018 (UTC)

@Kanchan Mahon: Hey! The topic of nationality is a bit confusing as is. Sometimes nationality is based on place of birth of the person, sometimes the ethnicities of the parents, and sometimes on citizenship. In this particular case, Sandra Bullock was brought up in Germany, held dual citizenship for quite a while and regained citizenship of Germany in 2009. Furthermore, one of her parents is from Germany, so I felt it was necessary to have a discussion before the change "German American" to "American" was made (which was why I reverted the edit). I'm not familiar with the topic enough to comment on which nationality is correct; you're best off starting a new section on the talk page of the article if you want clarification. If you have any further queries, feel free to post here. I'm always open for discussion. Jiten talk contribs 16:07, 24 January 2018 (UTC)

If you have any issues, do visit our office in Sector 8 , RK Puram , New Delhi

Hi Chandphool! Thanks for reaching out to me. The post I made to your talk page has the necessary information for donating copyrighted material to Wikipedia (it is #4 in the bulleted list). For now, I'd suggest removing the content till the issue is resolved Erring on the side of caution, I've removed the content myself. There's no hurry to add information, so it's best that the required process is undertaken. I have limited experience with the topic of copyrights, but if you need any help, I can direct you to people on Wikipedia who can guide you through the process. If you have further queries, feel free to ask! Jiten talk contribs 18:51, 29 January 2018 (UTC)
I forgot to mention one more thing! Since you mentioned that you work for Swadeshi Jagaran Manch, please do look through Wikipedia's guideline on conflict on interest. Naturally, if I was working for an organization, there would be bias involved when I attempt to edit the organization's article. That is pretty much the basis for why the guideline exists. I strongly recommend looking into some of the aspects of editing I've mentioned above: copyrights, conflict of interest, etc before moving forward. Again, if you need any help, feel free to contact me :) Jiten talk contribs 19:04, 29 January 2018 (UTC)

Happenning twice

Mr. Jiten , SJM is a big organisation having its reach and offices in "every"state of India. People need to know about the organisation and its activities . Now if this is not done right , I want to do it according to the procedures. You see this is not the first time the entire information of page has been removed. If you go down the page history , you'll see this is the second time this has been done. Now my request is two fold: Firstly,Tell me a fool proof way by which I can add the content on the Wikipedia Page Secondly, Can you connect me to Wikipedia People you were talking about. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Chandphool (talkcontribs) 03:21, 30 January 2018 (UTC)

Hi again! Wikipedia is a work in progress, so there are always going to be changes made to content added to it; but as long as the content you add is neutral, well sourced and follows the manual of style (for consistency's sake), you're good to go. Since I mentioned that you have a conflict of interest with this particular article, one way to ensure that added content is in accordance with the guidelines is to make an edit request. An edit request allows you to ask for changes to be made to an article. An experienced editor can then review your request and act on it accordingly.
Coming to the topic of copyrights, you must release the copyrighted material to the public domain or under Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License for it to be used on Wikipedia. This license allow anyone — not just Wikipedia — to share, distribute, transmit, and adapt your work, provided that you are attributed as the author. There are two ways to do this, both of which are documented at WP:DONATETEXT. I suggest you read through the information given there. A message from Salipunan

Hi Jiten D, Thank you very much for your message. I am quite new to Wikipedia and trying to do my best. Please tell me how i could contact an admin in order to change the name "Holy Ghost Fathers" (which is not appropriate) to "Congregation of the Holy Spirit" (which is the official one). Thanks again Salipunan (talk) 13:43, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

@Salipunan: Hey! Thanks for reaching out to me. The correct venue for your request would be: requested moves. Simply click the link and scroll down till you see the section "Requesting technical moves". There, you will find the procedure to be followed. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask! Holy Ghost Fathers

Are you sure about the Public Domain of the encyclopedia. At the bottom of the page is a clear copyright notice.PRehse (talk) 14:12, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

@PRehse: The attribution at the bottom of the page was misleading (which has now been fixed by Nick). It should've pointed to the Catholic Encyclopedia instead of the webpage that was mentioned in the CSD nom. Per the correction attribution now and the notice at the bottom here, the content is indeed in public domain. Thanks for reversing that cut-paste move by the way! Looks like the situation is resolved. Jiten talk contribs 14:20, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
Cool.PRehse (talk) 14:22, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
@PRehse: Just to clarify, the page I was referring to was Holy Ghost Fathers. I think the page you were referring to was the webpage from the CSD nom? (By the way, that website copied content from Catholic Encyclopedia too) Regardless, situation resolved. :-P Jiten talk contribs 15:33, 8 February 2018 (UTC)

Tool for filling in bare references

Hello, I saw here that you format the bare references manually... I just discovered an amazing tool, reFill, maybe it can be of help. Drow (talk) 16:13, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi Drow! I've actually used reFill before and it is a very helpful tool indeed. The only drawback is that it fills limited parameters of the ref like |title= and |accessdate= most of the time. Other parameters like |author1= or |publisher= or |date= have to be filled in manually. So I've been leaning towards doing the necessary by myself. Thanks for being on the lookout though! I appreciate you taking the time :-) Jiten talk contribs 17:49, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of awards and nominations received by Matthew McConaughey, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Interstellar (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

A barnstar for you!

The Original Barnstar
Thank you for your assistance in checking copyedits on Kneel Before Me. I created this article as an IP earlier in the year and didn't expect so many pageviews (and subsequent chain of edits) when I moved it out of draftspace a few weeks back. I'm looking forward to working with you in the future. Jalen D. Folf (talk • contribs) 03:20, 15 November 2018 (UTC)

About Sun Bears

The sun bear is not part of the us genus and its clearly more closely related to the sloth bear than to any Ursidae species (and in a near future they may be reclassified as part of the same genus). I need someone to fix the cladogram. -56FireLeafs 56FireLeafs:Talk

Hi 56FireLeafs! Thanks for reaching out to me. I'm a bit unsure about the context of your query. Is this related to a recent edit of mine or... something else? Taxonomy is a bit outside my area of expertise so I may not be the best to help you out, but I'm happy to give it a try if you could explain your issue a bit more. Jiten talk contribs
I asked for your help as your one of the many recent editors of the sun bear page so i thought you could help me. Btw i made some grammar mistakes in my first sentence. Read it again pls. -56FireLeafs

Thank You

It appears you have fixed a hoax issue regarding the band Breaking Laces. It had been edited by a user who inserted themselves as founding member, manager, lead singer, etc…. After that, they changed the band members names giving them silly nickname personas. Aramis23875 (talk) 22:46, 25 July 2023 (UTC)
