Burmese Invasion of Assam - Map
[edit]The Ahom kingdom in 1824 extended up to the Manas river, and not to the current western boundary of the Assam state. The former king, Chandrakanta Singha camped at the Manas river, ready to take back his kingdom. This map is wrong, so do not keep putting it up. Chaipau (talk) 02:27, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- well that is what is shown, the burmese reached western manas river, though the map is a bit inaccurate, it is more than 90 percent accurate, so it should be put up Jiske890 (talk) 02:47, 15 February 2024 (UTC)
- You cannot call it 90% accurate since it follows the boundaries that were created after British colonialism spread not only in Assam, but the entire (present-day) Northeast India, Burma, Bangladesh. This map is 100% meaningless. Chaipau (talk) 18:49, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- the map is sourced , it is accurate Jiske890 (talk) 23:11, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- the map is the burmese occupation of assam , burma occupied manipur, cachar, jaintia and assam till manas river, it came under konbaung dynasty in 1824 Jiske890 (talk) 23:30, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

[edit]Hi Jiske890! I noticed that you have reverted to restore your preferred version of Manipur several times. The impulse to undo an edit you disagree with is understandable, but I wanted to make sure you're aware that the edit warring policy disallows repeated reversions even if they are justifiable.
All editors are expected to discuss content disputes on article talk pages to try to reach consensus. If you are unable to agree at Talk:Manipur, please use one of the dispute resolution options to seek input from others. Using this approach instead of reverting can help you avoid getting drawn into an edit war. Thank you. Kautilya3 (talk) 12:10, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Kautilya3 The map is well sourced, please go through the description, i dont see the reason to remove it, manipur was one of the states of mongmao in 1360, it was known in burma as kasan. Thank you Jiske890 (talk) 12:23, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- Well, the sources must be provided, both in the article body and on the talk page, if there are disputes. See WP:Verifiability. Currently you are WP:edit warring, and you will be blocked if you continue to do so. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 12:27, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- @Kautilya3 There is already sources provided in the article about manipur being one of the states of mongmao, just above the map i added Jiske890 (talk) 12:29, 16 February 2024 (UTC)

Introduction to contentious topics
[edit]You have recently edited a page related to India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan, a topic designated as contentious. This is a brief introduction to contentious topics and does not imply that there are any issues with your editing.
A special set of rules applies to certain topic areas, which are referred to as contentious topics. These are specially designated topics that tend to attract more persistent disruptive editing than the rest of the project and have been designated as contentious topics by the Arbitration Committee. When editing a contentious topic, Wikipedia’s norms and policies are more strictly enforced, and Wikipedia administrators have special powers in order to reduce disruption to the project.
Within contentious topics, editors should edit carefully and constructively, refrain from disrupting the encyclopedia, and:
- adhere to the purposes of Wikipedia;
- comply with all applicable policies and guidelines;
- follow editorial and behavioural best practice;
- comply with any page restrictions in force within the area of conflict; and
- refrain from gaming the system.
Editors are advised to err on the side of caution if unsure whether making a particular edit is consistent with these expectations. If you have any questions about contentious topics procedures you may ask them at the arbitration clerks' noticeboard or you may learn more about this contentious topic here. You may also choose to note which contentious topics you know about by using the {{Ctopics/aware}} template.
