I am willing to be a candidate in Counter Vandalism Unit. Will you take me for the course? If you are willing to, I'll thank you in advance. After I passed your test, I'll apply for rollback. Jianhui67 (talk) 15:24, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi Jianhui67, thank you for your request. I'll have a proper look through your contributions within the next 6 hours and let you know what I think the best course of action is. Thank you again for your interest. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 00:31, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hello Jianhui67, I've created your academy page at User:Callanecc/CVUA/Jianhui67 which is where we will work through your training. As you complete tasks I'll give you feedback and add more tasks so make sure you watchlist the page. Also if you have any questions which aren't related feel free to use the talk page to ask them. Regards, Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 06:38, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Wow thank you very much for taking me for the course. I'll promise to do my best throughout the course and won't let you disappointed. But I'm away from school next week on the afternoon of Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, due to extra lessons, co-curricular activities and tests. I do have a lot of tests next week and I have to revise, so I may only do this at night. My time zone is GMT+8. By the way, about when is the graduation date? I'm afraid I'm busy and have not much time to do this, so I have to see when I can switch on my computer to Wikipedia. Though I am very busy, but I am still very eager and determined to become a rollbacker. By the way, are my past contributions before my application okay? Anyways, thank you very much for taking me. Jianhui67 (talk) 11:17, 26 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, can you please reply to my answer and mark my work on my academy page? Thanks. Jianhui67 (talk) 12:14, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
- I won't go through all of your past contributions, but the random checks I did looked ok. But the purpose of this training is so you know exactly what to do. I've marked your answers and added new tasks Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 12:33, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
- Finished your tasks. Please mark them and add new tasks. Thanks. Jianhui67 (talk) 17:20, 27 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, please mark my answers and I'm ready for the next task. Jianhui67 (talk) 07:41, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
- I've marked the three you've done, could you please once you add the next 4 I'll add your next task. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 07:47, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
- Done and I'm ready for my next task. Jianhui67 (talk) 08:25, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
- Can I do your tasks tomorrow afternoon? On my time at about 3 to 4pm, which is 6 to 7pm of your time. Reporting to AIV is not very easy as the vandal must have a lot of vandalism. Can I use the past 2 reports that I posted on the WP:AIV yesterday and today, together with the difference of the revertion? The two vandals I reported both have been blocked. Thanks. Jianhui67 (talk) 08:47, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
- That's no problem at all, it is a relatively long course so it will take a few days done at the speed it has been done. Yep no problem using the two previous AIV reports. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 09:36, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
- Finished all of them and added a 16. Go and see the reason at the page. Please go and mark and add new tasks Thanks. Jianhui67 (talk) 15:22, 28 July 2013 (UTC)

I've marked them with a few comments, and I've added some reading for you to do as well as a new task. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 00:10, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- Finished your task and added a relevant link to my explanation. Is that accepted? By the way, revert 16 will not happen on Candy Crush Saga if he didn't write Tiffi is beautiful. Chocolate, liquorice and marmalade is accepted. Please add new tasks. And by the way, when can I apply rollback? After graduation? Jianhui67 (talk) 08:41, 29 July 2013 (UTC)
- If you don't mind I'll manage my own userspace. However it isn't a bad idea to move it away from my talk page but this is a much better place. In the future I'd appreciate it if you didn't move things around in my userspace.
- Yep adding a link is fine. You can apply for the rollback user right anytime you like, a CVUA course is not a prerequisite, it's just a way to gain experience. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 10:02, 29 July 2013 (UTC)

- Hi, but can you release everything up to the last question of speedy deletion section, but before the next section heading? I prefer to do everything at once and let you mark, because I may be busy and not have time to go to Wikipedia. So I prefer to do everything at once then I can let you mark and release the next task. Thanks. Jianhui67 (talk) 13:42, 30 July 2013 (UTC)
- Hi, please add new tasks and see my previous message. Jianhui67 (talk) 11:10, 31 July 2013 (UTC)
- I got the message the first time, I've just been busy with other things. I've added more tasks. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 03:50, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
- Finished your tasks. Please go and mark and add new tasks. Thanks. Jianhui67 (talk) 13:10, 2 August 2013 (UTC)
- I saw that you ask me a question on the Protection section on my requesting one page for protection on WP:RPP. What is incorrect about my request? Doesn't http: and https: make the same thing? Jianhui67 (talk) 14:47, 4 August 2013 (UTC)
- New requests need to be placed at the top of the page (which is different to some other noticeboard request pages). The thing about leaving off the http: or https: for internal links is so that the person clicking it doesn't have to change whether they are using the secure (https) server or not. - Done and please go and mark and add new tasks. By the way, my application for rollback was successful but I don't know how to download Huggle. Will you teach me for that? Jianhui67 (talk) 09:43, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
I've marked your progress test, congratulations on your 88% score. I'll write some instructions and tasks around Huggle during the next few days, but in the meantime have a look at mw:Manual:Huggle which will give you some pointers. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 10:51, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- Wow, I don't know how you marked that I have a .5 in my score. Jianhui67 (talk) 11:27, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- Each question is worth 2 marks.
- You lost one mark for scenario 1, question 3 & question 6. In scenario 2 you lost a mark for question 1 and 0.5 for question 3. In scenario 3 you lost 1 mark for question 2. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 11:31, 7 August 2013 (UTC)
- By the way, I have also been granted reviewer rights. Jianhui67 (talk) 08:16, 8 August 2013 (UTC)
- I know how to use STiki and Huggle already. So Huggle requires user configuration. I saw your Huggle.css page and I copied the content to my Huggle.css page. Huggle is quite good and useful. Jianhui67 Talk 12:18, 10 August 2013 (UTC)
- Go and see my past contributions on both of my use of Huggle and STiki. Thanks. Jianhui67 Talk 15:34, 11 August 2013 (UTC)
- So is there anything you would like me to help you with re Huggle or STiki? Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 03:40, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- I think I got most of the gist of those two tools. But what does the innocent button in STiki do? I have never tried that before. One thing not good about Huggle is that I can't use it to revert good faith edits. It does not show 'reverted good faith edits', unlike STiki and Twinkle. Jianhui67 Talk 06:37, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Innocent is when the edit is fine and doesn't need to be reverted. It does have that function but you need to select it from the "Revision" menu then "Revert AGF" option. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 10:49, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Can you set up new tasks? Thanks. Jianhui67 Talk 11:52, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- Before I do is there anything you'd like to work on. Otherwise we can start with a final assessment type process. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 12:02, 12 August 2013 (UTC)

Yes I saw the 'Revert AGF' on the 'Revision' menu. Okay I'm ready for the final assessment. Jianhui67 Talk 12:11, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Can I ask one last question? When a vandal vandalizes 5 times, and have gotten a level 4 warning, do you warn him with 4im or what? Jianhui67 Talk 13:16, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
Can you change the period from 5 days to 4 days and count today as the 1st day, since you posted the monitoring period today? I want to finish all the course by this Sunday. I'm busy next week with tests and I want to take a break next week after 3 weeks of day-by-day editing. I also have a Addtional Mathematics Common Test on Wednesday, which I need to revise. Thank you very much if you are willing to do so. And please answer my previous question. Jianhui67 Talk 15:36, 12 August 2013 (UTC)
- If they have a level 4 warning and vandalise again you report them to WP:AIV.
- It doesn't really matter all that much, it would probably be just as easy to end the monitoring period at 24:00, 25 August 2013 (UTC). So assuming there are no problems which come up during the monitoring period I'll post the final test on Sunday (as soon as I can). Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 06:31, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- No, can you count yesterday as first day and change the monitoring period to 4 days? This is my busy week, as I have a lot of tests. My school ends at 6 tomorrow, 4.30 on Thursday and 6.30 on Friday. I really need the period to change from 5 days to 4 days. I may not have time to go to my computer to revert vandalism, but I'll try to. I too have to revise for my tests. I'll put to 5 reverts a day. Jianhui67 Talk 09:35, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- Oh I see, and I wrote down the date for the wrong week. How about 24:00, 15 August 2013 (UTC)? However if you haven't been active enough for me to be sure that everything is ok I will need to extend it. Alos what about it I put the final test up now so you can work on that when you have time over the next few days? Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 10:48, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- Okay. Put up the final exam on Friday, 16 August 2013. I have time during this weekend to do it. Did reverts today and yesterday with STiki and Huggle. Are my reverts okay? Jianhui67 Talk 10:56, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- Sounds good to me. I had a quick look (but about to leave so didn't have a thorough search and nothing jumped out at me. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 11:17, 13 August 2013 (UTC)
- Did a lot of reverts with STiki. Go and see my reverts for today and see if they are okay. I'm very busy today and only have some time to go to STiki to revert vandalism. I hope you will let me pass for today. I find more vandalism in STiki. I found more about more than 10 today. Tomorrow will be the last day of my monitoring period, so you shall post the final exam before 06:00 16 August 2013 (UTC). Jianhui67 Talk 11:10, 14 August 2013 (UTC)

- Even did manual rollbacking with rollback button and manual warning too. Jianhui67 Talk 11:29, 15 August 2013 (UTC)
- Please put up the final exam asap, especially before 03:00 17 August 2013. Like I said before, I want to take a wikibreak next week after 3-4 weeks of day-by-day intense editing. I want to end the course at least by Sunday. I am rather busy next week. Jianhui67 Talk 15:10, 16 August 2013 (UTC)

Wow I only got 80%. On part 3, the 'Joe Nathan goes to [[]] and lives!' doesn't even say about db-a1 or a7. The question itself is not clear. So I think that is an attack page. For the 'Fuck Wiki!', I thought org is the wiki page, that's attacking Wikipedia, because en.wikipedia.org, the org at the back. For part 6, that edit I reverted was actually vandalism. I saw Cluebot NG reverting the same edit as vandalism. So I think that that may be vandalism. For the user, I actually left a warning on his talk page before reporting. Well I know he have not edited. Jianhui67 Talk 07:37, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- I'm not sure what you mean by "doesn't even say about db-a1 or a7"? The question states that the content listed is the only content on the page if this is the case then there is no reason to mark it as an attack page.
- Except that the user didn't put Wikipedia they put "Wiki". It isn't libel or a legal threat etc, see Wikipedia:Attack page.
- You can't rely on a bot (and automated process) to decide whether something is vandalism or not. It's up to you as the person clicking the save button to make this decision for yourself. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 07:52, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- That means the question is not clear enough to justify that it should be deleted by a1 or a7. '[[]]' never imply anything whether it is an attack page or not. That's why the question itself is not clear. I think I am the only student of yours to reach till the end of the final exam and got a 80%. Jianhui67 Talk 08:10, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- When I was doing the test, I was rushing because I have something later on and was busy. By the way, what is the minimum passing percentage for the final exam? Did I only just pass it? Jianhui67 Talk 08:42, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- You generally need more information to tag a page for deletion as an attack page then you do to tag it as no content or unremarkable. If you can explain to me why it is an attack page I'll reconsider.
- Well that's up to you, you could have taken longer if you wanted. In any case it's done now. Depends on what you said in the exam, I'd say somewhere above 70-75%. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 11:07, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- 'Joe Nathan goes to [[]] and lives.' That was the question. You see, that question was unclear. What does '[[]]' mean? Maybe it is saying a place? Then that will be db-a1 or db-a7. But that can also be curse or attack words. For example, the '[[]]' can symbolize 'hell' or other curse or bad words. 'Joe Nathan goes to hell and lives.' Isn't that curse words? It can also be attacking the particular person, that's why it is db-g10. It can be an attacking sentence, depends on how you want to phrase it. The question itself is unclear. We can't really assume what the '[[]]' is. It can be either a1, a7 or g10. So I hope that you can give me the mark. Jianhui67 Talk 13:21, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- By the way, can you copy the contents of my academy page to User:Jianhui67/My CVUA so that I have a reference in the future? Thanks. Jianhui67 Talk 15:06, 18 August 2013 (UTC)
- Maybe it could be anything, by itself you don't know. You can't assume more than is on the page in front of you in this case that is what was in the question and only that. I've never heard [[]] symbolising hell and Google didn't come out with anything which would strongly indicate it does. [[]] could also be a wikilink (which is FAR FAR more likely). Plus I don't see how saying someone went to hell and lived is an attack page. Vandalism maybe but not worthy of an attack page. I would have accepted A1, A7, G2 (possibly) or G3. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 04:02, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Instead of copying it and so forking the page history it would probably be better if I either moved it there or redirected User:Jianhui67/My CVUA to here. Which would you prefer? Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 04:02, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Well, someone when create an attack page to attack that particular person, saying him 'go to hell and live!', like a 'go and die!'. Besides, the '[[]]' rather looks like a pit, or a big hole. Probably that is a curse to that particular person, or trying to put him down. At least replace the [[]] with a place, so that will be clear to another candidate who takes your final exam can put db-a1 or db-a7. I still feel about the [[]], that g10 is acceptable. Yes, [[]] can be a wikilink of a place, but not mentioned in the question, so you can replace the [[]] with a place, like Sydney, Kuala Lumpur or whatsoever, rather than a [[]]. Jianhui67 Talk 06:28, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- No need, just create another page called User:Jianhui67/My CVUA and copy the contents of User:Callenecc/CVUA/Jianhui67 there. Jianhui67 Talk 06:28, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Thanks for the suggestion, I'll consider it.
- No I was saying I'd rather do one of those two things than copy it and so fork the page history. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 09:29, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- So are you giving me the mark? Jianhui67 Talk 10:10, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- I think moving it there is better. Jianhui67 Talk 10:10, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Do you want if I nominate you as admin in RfA? You are inside the list of WP:List of Wikipedians by number of edits and you have 20K edits. I only have 1.5k edits lol, and in 2 months. You have account creator, file mover, reviewer and rollback rights. That's quite a lot. I only have half of yours. Go and take the WP:Wikipediholism Test and see how many points you will get. Try getting more than 4000 points. Jianhui67 Talk 15:56, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
- Sorry I saw this, then forgot that I hadn't replied to it.
- Given the discussion we've had, no I won't be giving you the mark.
- I'll move the page in a minute.
- Thanks for the offer, but I won't take it up at this time. But if I do put in an RFA, I hope you'll support me (a decision which is of course yours to make). Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 11:23, 21 August 2013 (UTC)
Hi Callanecc, just happened to be clicking some links and ended up here. I'm curious as to why you claim [1] is not an "unconstructive edit"... Theopolisme (talk) 20:14, 31 August 2013 (UTC)
- Hey Theo, how are you? In terms of whether it's vandalism or a good faith edit. Even after they'd been warned for doing it once before, it doesn't look to me like they were making a "deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia" but rather didn't understand what they were doing was wrong. So whilst I still would have warned them, I wouldn't have called it vandalism. Callanecc (talk • contribs • logs) 02:40, 1 September 2013 (UTC)
