Your User Page
[edit]I see that you created a user page at Jimmy Huaman, and that it's a page about you that includes what appears to be your resume. I went ahead and moved that page to your userspace; you can now find it at User:Jhuaman77, where it unambiguously refers to you. You may also wish to review our policy on userpages for other guidelines you'll need to follow. Finally, I left a welcome message for you on this page - it includes a lot of information about what Wikipedia is (and what it is not), and how best to proceed. You'll want to look at that when you can. Please post {{helpme}} on this page if you require assistance. Best, UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 18:50, 13 March 2012 (UTC)
- I seem to have forgotten to link you to our userpage policy - see Wikipedia:User pages. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 20:09, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

How I can retrieve the page with my name?.— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhuaman77 (talk • contribs)
Hi. Just follow this link: User:Jhuaman77 That's your User Page.
You can also reach it by clicking your User Name in your signature on a talk page (like the one that was in your post right above this one until you removed it while I was replying ^^) or right at the top of the page in your personal "toolbar".
As UltraExactZZ said above, he moved the page to your User Space for you, because it was in article space which was not the right place.
It would be a good idea to have a quick look at some of the links that were posted above for you, to help you get a feel for the place, especially the User Page guidelines.
Wikipedia:Your first article is worth looking at, too.
Don't forget to enjoy your editing! Begoon talk 17:16, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
Articles
[edit]Indicate that already answered, where is the answer?. What I do is a web person like Ron Paul for example. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ron_Paul, but with my name http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Huaman that's possible?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Jhuaman77 (talk • contribs)
- Those are WP:Articles. To have an article, you need to be notable. See the notability guidelines. Begoon talk 17:16, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
Question
[edit]This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
I say that talking about me is not notable, then please delete or remove http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Huaman, that I had created, and I will not write anything about me.
Now, I want to do is a page for Paul Chehade (http://www.paulchehade.org/) who is my uncle, and nominee for president of the United States of America, the name of the page would be. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Chehade. It is possible, as others are doing candidados like this in United States presidential election, 2012? You need that the page is protected, it will happen the same with my site. Jhuaman77 (talk) 17:42, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- The title Jimmy Huaman has already been deleted, as that happened automatically when I moved the page back to your userpage at User:Jhuaman77. You can write about yourself, the editor, on your userpage - but it isn't appropriate to use it as a webpage or homepage, nor should you use it as a webhost to post your resume as such. Userpages are for identifying users.
- There are two problems with creating an article at Paul Chehade. The first is that there are no Reliable sources that discuss Mr. Chehade or his candidacy. That would include newspaper articles, media coverage, or the like. To show that an individual (even a candidate for president) is notable, we first need to show that he has been noted by independent sources. This doesn't seem to have happened yet for Mr. Chehade. The article title is protected from creation because someone (using the candidate's name) had attempted to create an article yesterday. They did so by Copying the candidate's website, which isn't permitted under our policies. If you can show that there are websites and news articles that discuss Mr. Chehade, then perhaps we could help you put together an article. But, unfortunately, this does not yet appear to be the case. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 18:37, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- Also - I do want to wish your uncle the best of luck come November, and hope that he finds some measure of success on the campaign trail. However, if you get a chance, please direct his website person to Wikipedia:Reusing Wikipedia content. I notice that several of the pages on his website (such as the Election Day and Election 2012 links) are taken verbatim from Wikipedia. This is fine! Our content is free for this precise reason - but it must be attributed to Wikipedia. There's detailed instructions at WP:REUSE, and we can answer questions as well. Just a friendly FYI. The responses:
I send you a link to the Government of the United State which shows that my uncle, Paul Chehade is a candidate for president.
Likewise I send you a link where are interviews with him.

If you look in google or youtube will see much more information if you search Paul Chehade. Now, I could please indicate if this information is enough and I can help create the site in Wikipedia.
Thank you. Jhuaman77 (talk) 19:46, 14 March 2012 (UTC)
- You may wish to review our rules for Notability of People. Unfortunately, the FEC link only confirms that Mr. Chehade is a candidate - good as far as it goes, but that does not mean that he is notable. For example, as of October there were over 250 candidates for the 2012 Presidential Election. What we need is a newspaper article that talks about Mr. Chehade or his candidacy. Similarly, the other links are not useful for this purpose; youtube and dailymotion are not reliable sources as such, and a press release doesn't show that Mr. Chehade is receiving media coverage for his candidacy. You have mail to send you some information and not have to upload to the server, as several files. Jhuaman77 (talk) 18:57, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- The best way to start would be to post the article title and source. Which newspaper was it in? What date? With that I could track it down on the paper's website. A link to the article would be even better, if you have it. We cite newspapers routinely, even if the publication date was long in the past - in many cases we'd just cite the paper directly by publication date and page number or something similar. So, the reason the previous version was deleted was not because it was not properly sourced, but rather that it was written like an advertisement for Mr. Chehade. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for promotion, all content is expected to be written from a neutral point of view. I haven't looked at all the sources you list here, but I can tell you that YouTube is not considered a reliable source, and neither are blogs or any other type of user generated content. I hope this clarified matters for you. Beeblebrox (talk) 20:27, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

If you enter the following wikipedia page: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_third_party_and_independent_presidential_candidates,_2012#Independent will be able to see the information of the candidates for president of the united state and each of them has a wiki, for example the case of: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Jones_(pastor) speaking of his bibliography, it just that we do want to do or create a wiki for another independent candidate, Paul Chehade: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Chehade Is that possible?, As some have done? Thanks for your responses. Jhuaman77 (talk) 23:17, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- Let me try this again. Yes, it is possible that Mr. Chehade is sufficiently notable to have a Wikipedia entry. There was an article on him that was created three days ago that was deleted because it was written like an advertisement for him, as opposed to an encyclopedia article. If you are asking for someone else to write the article, you can file such a request at the requested articles page. You could also submit a draft version at articles for creation, but if you think you could manage to write an acceptable article on him yourself you are welcome to simply begin editing at Paul Chehade, but keep in mind that Wikipedia articles are expected to be written in a neutral tone, and may not contain information directly copied from other websites. Beeblebrox (talk) 23:56, 16 March 2012 (UTC)
- I'll add that the four articles there are 18 months to nearly 8 years old; each was separately notable before announcing their current candidacy. One other entry on the page is one month old, but is that minor party's nominee. See Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Politicians. Dru of Id (talk) 00:09, 17 March 2012 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Paul Chehade
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Paul Chehade requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. --sparkl!sm hey! 08:40, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

You say: This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people.
Then I can explain, because they are active the following pages you will discover its directives and have not deleted?: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_third_party_and_independent_presidential_candidates,_2012#Independent
Some candidates personal pages of the United States: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Randy_Blythe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_Burck http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Jones_(pastor)
among others. While waiting for your explanation, I say goodbye
Jhuaman77 (talk) 15:36, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- "Other stuff exists" is not a valid argument against deletion. Also, it appears that you did not assert why this person is notable, the article was very biased, and it did not reference any sources. Do you think the content of the article would be suitable for inclusion in Encyclopedia Britannica? --Chris (talk) 16:10, 20 March 2012 (UTC)

I commented that Mr. Paul Chehade is a candidate for president of the United States of America. Do not know if that is notable for Wikipedia? So you can check the link http://images.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/fecimg/?P20002580. Please confirm to me not to insist. thanks Jhuaman77 (talk) 16:26, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
- As I noted above, just being a candidate for President is not enough to be considered notable. If someone is a candidate for president, and multiple reliable sources comment on that candidacy, then you might have a case. But the above sources mostly appear to be written by the candidate. I assure you, if Mr. Chehade becomes notable as a candidate, someone will write an article about him. But, at present, he does not appear to be a notable candidate under our rules. Sorry. UltraExactZZ Said ~ Did 17:17, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
A couple more things: That link is just a page at the Federal Election Commission website showing that he registered his intent to run for president. Anyone can file the papaerwork, and dozens if not hundreds do so every presidential election. That would be a fine reference for verification purposes, but it does nothing to establish notability simce basically anyone who is not a convicted felon may run for President. It is also clear that large portions,, if not all, of the article you created were copied directly from the official website of his campaign, which is something I explicitly told you was not acceptable. I and others have tried to guide you, but you don't seem to be understanding the issues here.
- You can't violate copyright by directly copying material from another website onto Wikipedia.
- Articles are expected to be neutral, not the blatant promotion present in both deleted versions of this article
- Content must be backed up by reliable sources in order to verify that it is accurate and to establish that the subject is notable
- In case you were not aware, anytime you see a blue word on Wikipedia, that is a link to another page with more information. If you click on the various blue words in the advice you have been given you will be directed to policy pages that explain how Wikipedia works.
- At this time I would recommend that you not attempt to create another article on Mr. Chehade until you read up on our content policies and feel you understand the basic requirements for articles here, as it clear that at the moment you have yet to grasp any of the advice already given to you. We are always willing to try and help new users, but it is a two way street, you need to make the effort of actually reading our policies and following the advice given.
