Speedy deletion nomination of Amos Seaman
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Amos Seaman requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Hey
[edit]Should we have an article on Charles "Tiny" Hermann ? Yes. Should we have what you submitted as an article on Tiny Hermann? No: most of what you submitted was copied word-for-word, or almost, from the NS Hall of Fame's entry on him. That's not allowed. I've deleted the article, because it would need so much reworking that it's more efficient to start over (and I'd need to eliminate the copyrighted material from the article history anyway).
Feel free to rewrite the article, but say it in your own words.
The sources you used were:
- https://www.werelate.org/wiki/Person:Charles_Hermann_(3) (a non-optimal source - apparently based on https://web.archive.org/web/20141105042804/http://www.middleton.ednet.ns.ca/Wall/tiny.htm )
- and https://nsshf.com/inductee/charles-tiny-hermann/ (which you didn't actually cite).
(maybe also try http://ottawasporthalloffame.ca/inductees/charles-tiny-bismark-hermann/ )
Good luck: I look forward to reading your work. DS (talk) 15:23, 30 September 2019 (UTC)
I moved the article you created in mainspace to draft, so you can incubate it there and AfC it when it's ready for main. Sungodtemple (talk) 14:33, 15 November 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Thank you for your contributions. It seems that you may have added public domain content to one or more Wikipedia articles, such as Michael Francklin. You are welcome to import appropriate public domain content to articles, but in order to meet the Wikipedia guideline on plagiarism, such content must be fully attributed. This requires not only acknowledging the source, but acknowledging that the source is copied. There are several methods to do this described at Wikipedia:Plagiarism#Public-domain sources, including the usage of an attribution template. Please make sure that any public domain content you have already imported is fully attributed. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 21:46, 27 June 2024 (UTC)
