A tag has been placed on Lisle Teens with Character requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for organizations and companies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article Lisle Teens with Character has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable organization, does not pass WP:ORG and WP:RS

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Warrah (talk) 04:51, 18 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Are you refactoring others' comments or is this your sock puppet?

[edit]

Jhaseltine, you have some explaining to do in regards to this edit: you are either refactoring a comment made by another editor, or you are in fact admitting accidentally that User:Douglas Bradley is a sock. Which one is it? Drmies (talk) 03:49, 22 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

        • I commented at the bottom of your talk page. Creating a sock and lying about my identity or refactoring others' comments are against my character.

Lisle Teens With Character

[edit]
  • Thank you for asking me to consider the new information. As I've said, I think that LTWC sounds like a great group. And I would add that it can be referred to as part of other articles, such as the one about Lisle (as a large section of that article) or about Lisle High School. The debate is whether the group should have its own separate article, and not about whether it should be mentioned on Wikipedia. Lisle Teens can be referred to by anybody, albeit not necessarily as its own separate page. I appreciate that you've taken the extra time to provide evidence of recognition. With the possible exception of something that suggests that PBS filmed the group in 2006 for part of a nationally distributed DVD, however, there is nothing that indicates notice beyond the level of the State of Illinois and the Chicago metro area. Consider some of the other recipients of an award. Would the Danville Challenger League have its own separate article? Should Bartonville's Youth Alive have an article? My analogy was to the area's Shriners Club, but there are many good groups and good people who are working at making the world better, and they do good, not for any expectation of recognition, but for the sake of doing good. The quote on your home page from Congressman Watts sums it up well (the corollary to that is that the true test of morals is what you would do if you were guaranteed that nobody would ever find out). My answer is unchanged on whether the article meets Wikipedia's rules for what gets an article and what doesn't. Please bear in mind the discussion is in no way about the importance of the Lisle Teens within their community, it's only about relative notability. Best wishes for a Happy Thanksgiving.
