Jhandsley/Article 2 moved to draftspace now at Draft:Jesse Handsley
[edit]An article you recently created, Jhandsley/Article 2, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Jhandsley. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Jesse Handsley, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 16:09, 9 February 2020 (UTC)
- I do not consider any COI. I have undertaken several years of research on Jesse Handsley, sparked by the fact that we shared a surname. Whilst undertaking this research I became aware that no Wikipedia page existed for Jesse Handsley and decided to create a page to share the information I have gathered. - The only association I have with Skegness and Grantham (my home town) are that as a result of my research the towns recognised the achievements of Jesse Handsley and Arthur Blissett and so I became a member of the Grantham Civic Society. Jhandsley (talk) 09:01, 10 February 2020 (UTC)
- Jesse Handsley is fascinating, thank you. One small point: after the initial mention of their full name, a person should generally be referred to by surname only (see MOS:SURNAME). So, ideally you should be referring to "Handsley" and not "Jesse". This helps maintain an encyclopedic tone. --kingboyk (talk) 21:28, 13 February 2020 (UTC)
