Re: Help

[edit]

If you can get copyright authenticiation of this, then that would certainly help. Dustihowe  Talk  19:40, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Here are some standard instructions. I hope they help. Dustihowe has put "tnul" in your "helpme" template to turn it off. Orphaned non-free image File:Barbara Nitke.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Barbara Nitke.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Beckman headshot grahame.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! [edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Rose Marasco, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Rochester and Polaroid. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:04, 13 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Rose Marasco Self Portrait.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Rose Marasco Self Portrait.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 16:05, 17 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Janette Beckman, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Public Enemy (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). The article Thatcher Keats has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

fails WP:ARTIST, notability is WP:NOTINHERITED from his father.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ways to improve The Billboard Creative

[edit]

Hello, Jgrahame,

Thanks for creating The Billboard Creative! I edit here too, under the username Citrivescence and it's nice to meet you :-)

I wanted to let you know that I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:-

This page is pretty short so any information about the org's activities and founding would be great. It could also use an infobox. Thanks!

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Citrivescence}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Citrivescence (talk) 06:05, 7 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

{{Re|Citrivescence}} Hi and thank you! I am very reluctant to include anything that is not supportable by a third party on the web and there is nothing else about The Billboard Creative that is authentic that I can link to. As you can see, I have been spanked in the past for including info that isn't supposedly verifiable so I made this entry brief and to the point. Information on the company's founding is not available online and I understand it is not good form to reference a company's own website for information. Also what would you ideally hope to see in an Infobox? Thanks for your positive support, this is sometimes lacking in my communications with Wikipedia, and is much appreciated.
