[edit]Hello, I'm Sundayclose. I wanted to let you know that some of your recent contributions to John Lennon have been reverted or removed because they seem to be defamatory or libellous. Take a look at our welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Sundayclose (talk) 18:40, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- One of the Bloody Sunday victims was an active IRA supporter, and nail bombs were found: https://www.theguardian.com/uk/2002/may/19/bloodysunday.northernireland (Jgins (talk) 18:59, 18 December 2022 (UTC))
- Your edit stated, "Stanley Parkes confirmed the singer had funded IRA terrorism". The source simply stated, "had given money to the IRA", with no mention of "funding terrorism". In fact, the source never uses the word "terrorism". Those two statements do not have identical meanings. You should only report what is explicitly stated in the source, not your personal interpretation of what the source says. Your edit distorted the source and made a defamatory statement. If you do something like that again, you could lose your editing privileges. Sundayclose (talk) 19:42, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- I wonder what the IRA spent the money on? (Jgins (talk) 20:27, 18 December 2022 (UTC))
- You just made my point. You have to "wonder" to jump to your conclusion about funding terrorism because that is not stated in the source. My warning stands. Don't misrepresent a source again. Sundayclose (talk) 20:30, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
- I wonder if the IRA might have bought weapons with Lennon's money? (Jgins (talk) 20:31, 18 December 2022 (UTC))
- You're making pointless comments that continue to make my point. I'm finished here, but I'm watching your edits. Sundayclose (talk) 20:33, 18 December 2022 (UTC)
