[edit]Please discuss your proposed changes to the FAU article on its talk page before making them. I have reverted your additions again because you are not addressing the concerns I have raised in my edit summaries. The information you are trying to add is already in the article, and there is no need to bolster the university's reputation by putting its research classification in the lead of the article. This is a featured article, meaning it meets Wikipedia's highest standards as is. So it does not matter what other schools are doing. I would just ask that you discuss your proposed changes on the talk page, and get consensus for making them before implementing them. KnightLago (talk) 00:19, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

I see your point regarding placing the University's Carnegie classification in the article's introduction, as it may be "bolstering" and I am willing to concede on that issue.
However, I do not agree with your position regarding tagging FAU as a "space-grant" school in the article's infobox under "type". This is standard practice, even in featured articles. Please see the featured articles on Texas A&M, University of Michigan and UC Riverside. Because of this, I will once again add "Space-grant" to FAU's infobox, unless you give me a better reason not to.

- Click 'Edit this page' or 'Edit' on the top of the page that you want to edit.
- Make your changes in the edit window.
- Preview your changes by clicking the 'Show preview' button.
- Click the 'Save page' button.
For inline references:
- Do a search on Ask.com, Google, or your preferred search engine for the subject of the article that you want to put a reference in.
- Click 'Edit this page' or 'Edit' in the Wikipedia article, and insert a claim into that article stating a fact about the subject. Don't click the save button just yet.
- In the search you did in step 1, find a website that supports the claim you made in step 2. Highlight the address in the address bar (where it says http://www.some-website.com/some-page.htm).
- Go to the reference generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out the as many fields as you can. Then click 'Get reference wiki text'.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text.
- In the article, after the claim you made in step 2, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied in step 5.
- If the article does not have a References, Footnotes, Notes, or Bibliography section, then add this below the See Also section and above the External Links section:

In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment.
