Syracosphaera azureaplaneta
[edit]Hi Jeremy. Thanks for correcting a few of my clumsy mistakes in Syracosphaera azureaplaneta, and congratulations on the publicity yesterday on your team's discovery of this new taxon. I'll see if I can get this on the main page of Wikipedia as a "Did You Know" slot, if you like.
I was planning to contact you via the email address in your paper to ask whether your team would be willing to upload and release to Wikimedia Commons one SEM image of S. azureaplaneta which could be used in this article? You're probably aware that images need to be released by the copyright holder under a Creative Commons licence, allowing use by anyone, commercial or non commercial. But any concerns over misuse can be allayed by simply uploading a very small resolution image. The easiest way is for the copyright holder to upload the image themselves here, though it can be emailed to our licencing team. (Let me know if you need those details, or any help on uploads.)
By the way, my first ever paid job in a museum was in the European Herbarium at the BM(NH), albeit as a student back in the days of J. F. M. Cannon (and I'm still after an image of him, too!) Regards, Nick Moyes (talk) 15:52, 18 April 2018 (UTC)
Nick Thanks for creative the page and we were very impressed by how quickly it went up! I think it is great that wikipedia can react so fast. I will upload a copy of the holotype image. Email me for some suggestions of how to get images of Dr. CannonJeremy Young (talk) 13:00, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
- It'sprobably fair to say that 'sexy' topics get created a lot more quickly than standard taxa. Thought you might like to know that it reached the \Main Page today, so should get a few thousand hits as a result. See below. Will email you shortly re JFMC. DYK for Syracosphaera azureaplaneta
[edit]On 7 May 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Syracosphaera azureaplaneta, which was recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that a newly discovered plankton species, Syracosphaera azureaplaneta, has been named in honour of the BBC TV documentary series The Blue Planet, and its presenter, Sir David Attenborough? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Syracosphaera azureaplaneta. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Syracosphaera azureaplaneta), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Mews
[edit]Be bold! Specially when you see something very misleading. I'd like to revise the article because a casual reading just confuses (me and I think I know what a mews is / was). Would you like to stand over me and point out my errors as I / we go along? Would you like to do it yourself and let me complain if I didn't agree with you? Regards, Eddaido (talk) 01:45, 17 February 2019 (UTC) Sorry, I couldn't hold back but will be very pleased to see your improvements. Eddaido (talk) 03:20, 17 February 2019 (UTC)
Hi, thanks for your addition to this article. It'd be appreciated if you could add a citation to the source you used for the information. All the best, Chiswick Chap (talk) 11:05, 15 March 2021 (UTC)
