Jeremy Millward

[edit]

Jeremy Matthew Millward (born December 24, 2004) is a student at Moss Vale High School, in the Southern Highlands who works in his community to advocate and support mental health by implementing effective initiatives.

Jeremy began advocating his passion towards mental health in high school. Jeremy proposed to implement a permanent program in his school that taught students and teachers about mental health and how to help people suffering from mental illnesses.

In September, 2020, Jeremy created a mental health awareness week in his school. Which was extremely successful. The week included, a week worth of morning activities for students, installation of conversation tables in the main lunch area (which Jeremy still devotes his Thursday lunch to - talking to people), a conversation hall, wear-it-yellow-day, and many more activities.

Jeremy’s initiative created a legacy in the school and had a positive impact on all students, as well as the outer school community.

In April, 2021, Jeremy received a national award for his efforts. Jeremy was the recipient of the Young Conversation Champion Award.
