Dear Jeraphine,

I am a member of GIIP, we are a group of Paranormal Investigators, I don't understand why you had to remove the link. The other link that is there, they do the same thing.

And by the way - We (GIIP) spend hours, days, months even years analyzing our investigations... while the other link is just a forum.

We would really appreciate if the link could be there. Since we investigate and explain in our webpage. We are available 24/7 on a mobile phone to any person that would like to talk about anything that is happening related to "Paranormal".

PS: We're not promoting anything... Our webpage has self explanations about many things related to the Paranormal. If we wanted to promote our website and not to contribute to people in our country to understand better the meanings about EMF's, EVP's, Ghosts, Spirits, etc. We would have create a domain and we would use google ad words. We are only trying to contribute with information. Have you read what the other website does? It is a forum... while we contribute with direct information and we also give direct support

Please do not try to use Wikipedia to promote your website. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 22:37, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

What other link? There's only a DMOZ directory link in the external links section of the Paranormal article, I don't know what else you could be talking about. Please think for a moment what would happen if every person with a paranormal blog went to add their link to that article. We can't allow that. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 23:00, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

https://pt.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranormal

In the end you see - Ligações Externas - External Links -> this is the website I am talking about. So a forum has the right to be here but we don't because our webpage was made with a blog? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrchmod (talkcontribs) 23:03, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

And by the way, the link there is a forum for people to talk about while we put direct information about What is ... and How to ... and the information in that forum has poor quality information... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrchmod (talkcontribs) 23:10, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

If necessary we create a domain an point it to the blog. Is that necessary? Thank You </ref> Mrchmod (talk) 23:20, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Uh. That's the Portuguese Wikipedia. Honestly I don't really care what happens there, and they possibly have different rules than the English Wikipedia. I reverted your edit here on the Paranormal article on the English Wikipedia, this is the edit that we're talking about here. Please don't bring the Portuguese Wikipedia into the discussion, because it's not relevant. Please read Wikipedia:External links, the guidelines there apply to the English Wikipedia. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 23:34, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

In that case, thank you. Best Regards, GIIP — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrchmod (talkcontribs) 23:45, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Hello. Dear Jeraphine Gryphon,

My team (GIIP) was interviewed by David Ferris (American Video Producer), I am trying to get some help from wikipedia.pt "Operators" so I could know how to put the video in associated to Paranormal

In wikipedia.en / paranormal, is it possible for me to put the video there? How and where if possible?

The video is here https://vimeo.com/154921122 - It was subtitled to English so everyone could see it and understand it. The video is related to "How Paranormal Investigations are made"

I would appreciate if you can give me some help please.

Thank You.

Best Regards, Diogo Amorim — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mrchmod (talkcontribs)

No. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 19:57, 19 February 2016 (UTC)

Ok, thank you for your help. Got the confirmation (this morning) that the video will be played at one of our National TV stations. I will try to mention the help we got from your side. Mrchmod (talk) 20:21, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

We don't understand, if "Wikipedia" is an information website with "Encyclopedic content", and you say "Uh. That's the Portuguese Wikipedia. Honestly I don't really care what happens there" and "Please don't bring the Portuguese Wikipedia into the discussion" what do you mean? Wikipedia.pt is one encyclopedia and Wikipedia.en is another ? I am Portuguese, I have posted the same link in wikipedia.pt and wikipedia.en, if you don't have the ability to see what happens in "wikipedia.org" being it Portuguese or English, with the due respect, saying what you said is the same as saying that the information in wikipedia.pt and .en is separated, and that "yes", it doesn't help anyone. In a dictionary, the meaning of encyclopedia is not related with your meaning of Encyclopedic content. One circle is "one" circle... I thought that wikipedia was different, in a positive way... Mrchmod (talk) 21:25, 20 February 2016 (UTC)

The policies and guidelines that we have here only apply to the English Wikipedia. The admins here only have their admin powers on the English Wikipedia. And our style standards may be different on other wikis. This is how the wikis are separated. I don't speak Portuguese so I'm not gonna attempt to go in there and try to tell them how to run their wiki. It's their business, not mine. (I have contributed to the Estonian Wikipedia but it's a little boring there, and I like how the English wiki tends to have higher and more solid standards for everything, and it's more active.)
The problem was that you kept talking about how that other link on that other wiki was not as good as your link, and that was completely irrelevant. I'm not gonna go to that other wiki to remove that link. Maybe they want it to be there. I don't know. You're gonna have to go in there yourself if you want to make their articles better. But there's absolutely no use in pointing to their External links section to explain why we should add your link to an article on this wiki. We have stricter standards here. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 07:02, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
Okay, I went to look what's happening on the PT wiki. I'm glad to see that they have some standards too and your spamming was reverted. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 07:15, 21 February 2016 (UTC)

More about Philip Gale

Hi, can you give me some tips as to include the information for my bro ther's page that will not be removed as "wikipedia is not a memorial site". I tried again with facts and less emotion. Advice? Thanks

user zabeth116 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zabeth116 (talkcontribs)

I'm very sorry for your loss. But I don't think it's a good idea for you to edit that article, since you knew him personally and your writing is potentially biased. (See my message on your talk page.) I had to remove that whole section because it was unsourced and not really encyclopedic information; it would be appropriate on a memorial website but not in an encyclopedia. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 16:50, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for getting back to me. I totally understand what you are saying. I have added a citation and link instead, in reference to another note I wrote on FB. Will that work? It is public and it is cited and my quote is on there. If you look at the early revision histories of this page, you can see some active censoring to disinclude some of the controversial past related to the church of scientology. I feel it is important that the true information be on this page, as some was edited out early and some was changed and wasn't totally accurate. Will this work, you do think - the more about section now. Simply not editing this page isn't an option for me, but I'd like to get it right and I appreciate the feedback — Preceding unsigned comment added by Zabeth116 (talkcontribs) 17:13, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Thanks for your patience withe me here.... I am reading more and coming to the conclusion that I can't post the note link either. Can you direct me to a list of possible sources. I would have to publish something in a more significant website or written publication? Again, thanks. Zabeth116 (talk) 17:29, 3 March 2016 (UTC)zabeth116

Generally speaking, proper newspapers and (non-self-published) books are the best references, though there are other options, and sometimes it depends on the information you are adding whether the source is good enough for that type of info. Our sourcing policy is described in more detail at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources.
You're right, things like Facebook posts and forum posts etc are generally not acceptable sources. And that specific info that I removed is not appropriate with any source. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 17:48, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Gotchya. Thanks. Zabeth116 (talk) 18:59, 3 March 2016 (UTC)zabeth116

Timi Ogunjobi's book IS self-publihed

Hello, I removed the reference to Timi Ogunjobi's book. The Tee Publishing is owned by him, so the book is self published. Please, see https://www.gmdu.net/corp-714458.html --Historik75 (talk) 08:59, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

I saw your message on the article's talk page after I had already reverted, so I went back and reverted myself. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 10:20, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi You left me message on my "IP page". I didn't edited that article. I don't even follow any sport events. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.223.131.235 (talk) 12:58, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Issues with potential vandalism

Hi Jeraphine, I recently noticed that a change was made to a page called Pentosan Polysulfate Sodium from the IP 14.141.42.65. The change entailed removal of a brand name Pentorse and the company name Swati Spentose, replacing it with Inogent. In the interest of full disclosure, I work at Swati Spentose, but while I have added SSPLs brand name Pentorse, I have also included names of competitor brands, Arthropen and Pentosan. I have also provided the reason as a clear case of marketing attempt, but am open to hearing from you on how such vandalism can be controlled. In addition, if there are any guidelines on unbiased editing by company employees, please share the same with me, and I can work further towards sharing information in the spirit of Wikipedia.Blackstone1221 (talk) 10:41, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

I have never seen that article before so I don't know why you're asking me, but I've looked at the pages and edits now and advise you to just stop using Wikipedia for promotion. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 12:11, 8 March 2016 (UTC)

Hi, the reason why I asked you was that in the past, you had contacted the user from IP 14.141.42.65 for similar issues, and hence thought it would be appropriate. While I still believe information submitted by me on the page was neutral, and shares information that should be publicly available, I understand and respect your edits. People tend to look to Wikipedia for first-hand information, and sometimes incomplete information tends to give undue advantage to some. My goal was to list out brands available for public, and then I noticed that the user had blatantly replaced the brands. Hence i contacted you in good faith. In any case, if you still believe my edits violate the terms of Wikipedia, I will not pursue this matter further. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Blackstone1221 (talkcontribs) 04:42, 9 March 2016 (UTC)

Template

Did you template just me with the "Edit warring" template, or did you also template the other editor? Kindzmarauli (talk) 18:54, 11 March 2016 (UTC)

The other editor already knows what edit warring is, I wasn't sure if you knew. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 06:32, 12 March 2016 (UTC)

Please stop edit warring.

I understand you take issue with the content I've added, however it is a mischaricterisation and betrays an ignorance of the topic at hand. Furthermore, the sources are completely accurate and I've changed the content to ensure that it meets Wikipedia policy on living persons.

If you have specific issues, then please state them. I suggest you read: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Revert_only_when_necessary#Unacceptable_reversions

There are alternatives to edit warring and I hope we can pursue them. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hehpillerpro (talkcontribs) 16:54, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

It doesn't matter if you think the sources are "accurate", none of them are reliable sources, i.e. we can't use those refs to pretend that the information you've added is important enough to get a whole section in that article. It's hardly even relevant and your tone (and username) betrays that you're here to promote the group. Don't lecture me about edit warring, you're the one reverting different people to push in your bad edit. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 17:09, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

"Don't revert an edit because it is unnecessary — because it does not improve the article. For a reversion to be appropriate, the reverted edit must actually make the article worse. Wikipedia does not have a bias toward the status quo (except in cases of fully developed disputes, while they are being resolved). In fact, Wikipedia has a bias toward change, as a means of maximizing quality by maximizing participation." You seem to be much more experienced and knowledgeable regarding the rules, and yet you are making a basic oversight. If you have an issue with me, rather than the article, then please feel free to take it up with the administration rather than out on the article. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Hehpillerpro (talkcontribs) 17:21, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Administrators don't settle content disputes. We were having a content dispute, up until now. I'm sure admins will take interest in you soon enough. — Jeraphine Gryphon (talk) 17:50, 14 March 2016 (UTC)

Rollback

I have granted the "rollbacker" permission to your account. After a review of some of your contributions, I believe you can be trusted to use rollback for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, contact me and I will remove it. Good luck and thanks. – Gilliam (talk) 07:34, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
