Welcome
[edit]Hello, Jennyk17, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and have been reverted. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles.
There is a page about the verifiability policy that explains the policy in greater detail, and another that offers tips on the proper ways of citing sources. If you are stuck and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}}
on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Where to ask a question or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome! Aboutmovies (talk) 07:49, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- Regarding your additions to Matt Wingard, thank you for editing the article, but the changes have been removed. Wikipedia requires that information be sourced from reliable sources, see this link for more information. Otherwise it is considered original research and we cannot accept information such as that. It appears you are very knowledgeable about him, so if you provide a source, we can add in the encyclopedic content to the article. But, we do also require the information to come from Wikipedia defined reliable sources which include newspapers, magazines, books, and the like, or in the case of people (in limited circumstances) sources written by them. Also note, Wikipedia also has guidelines for conflicts of interest in case you work on his campaign, and very strict guidelines for the biographies of living people due to the harm that mis-information can cause. Feel free to contact me, or leave notes on the "discussion page" of the article. Happy editing. Aboutmovies (talk) 07:55, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I asked you to work with the community here, but you have decided to go forward without discussion. Thank you for giving the source, but unfortunetky that source is not a WP:RS, few personal websites are. For some of the info, this could be used, but certainly not all of it. Additionally, everything you added was removed as we also respect copyrights and everything added was a copy and paste from the website. This is only appropriate if Wikipedia has permission from the website/content owner. Do not re-add the info as is, unless you go through the process of getting approval from the website owner. Thank you. Aboutmovies (talk) 18:53, 21 August 2008 (UTC)
- I figured you were, which brings up a different issue concerning conflict of interest. Please read that carefully as this is a political figure in the middle of a campaign. After that, it would be best to only provide sources for information on the article's talk page and not directly edit the article. Thanks. Aboutmovies (talk) 23:36, 1 September 2008 (UTC)
- No problem. I hope to eventually add some info from his website, minor things such as wife, kids, where he grew up and such. Anything else gets into issues with Wikipedia's biographies of living people policy. But since you are in contact with them, they would likely know what newspapers they have been featured in and those could be mentioned on the talk page with a citation so someone else could add anything. Thanks. Aboutmovies (talk) 00:52, 2 September 2008 (UTC)
