The Wiggles articles

Jena, welcome to Wikipedia! It's so cool that you have so much enthusiasm for The Wiggles! I can understand it, as the main editor for the guys' articles, the editor who's spent the most time trying to improve them, and the mom of two small kids who adore them. Goodness knows that these articles need all the help and support they can get.

That being said, though, please be more careful in your edits. For example, I or other editors have had to go back to all of your edits and correct them. Watch your typos! I'd suggest that you read Wikipedia's WP:MOS and learn better ways of editing (and writing, for that matter). I had to go back and change some of your edits to Jeff Fatt that could've been avoided if you had read that article first. (I think that Anthony is cute, but Jeff's my favorite Wiggle. <g>)

The wonderful thing about editing for Wikipedia is that you're continually learning new stuff. For example, I was under the impression that all bio articles should be in past tense, so I went ahead and reverted all your changes to Jeff's article, since you had changed them to present. Then, when researching the written WP policy, I found this which states, "Biographies of living persons should generally be written in the present tense, and biographies of deceased persons in the past tense." So thanks for clearing that up for me, and I promise to go back and make the necessary changes soon.

Anyway, keep up the enthusiasm and thanks for your contributions! If you have any questions, please go to my talk page. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 18:51, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

Vandal blocking

Hi Jena,
You asked if I could block this guy. I'm not an administrator, so I can't. You can go ahead and ask one to block him, but from his talkpage, it looks like he's pretty close to it anyway. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Oh, and don't forget to sign your comments; a bot went and autosigned for you after your note on my talk page. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 21:25, 10 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Jena, thanks for your kind thoughts during the difficult and frustrating process of getting The Wiggles to FA-status. Your enthusiasm and encouraging made all the difference in the world! I'm so proud! ;) --Figureskatingfan (talk) 04:11, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

you are Very Welcome!! --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 21:55, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

Your revision of the Wiggles

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason why you reverted the latest edit to the Wiggles? It looked like a legit link to me, but I don't speak Japanese so I couldn't read it...---Balloonman PoppaBalloon 21:12, 13 August 2008 (UTC)

Opps! My Bad I did not know what those lines were LOL sorry... --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 03:22, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

If you look on the left of the screen, you'll see a section for languages. When you see somebody adding something with [[xx: foreign text]] then they are probably adding links to a non-english wiki. When I see those, I will click the link to make sure that it is going to the correct subject in another language and leave it. (There is a form of vandalism wherein you link to something else---usually male or female reproductive organs---with these foreign language links.)
(Where xx are letters and the foriegn text could be romantic characters or non-romantic characters.)---Balloonman PoppaBalloon 03:40, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
Surely you mean Romanic? ;> –xeno (talk) 13:14, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Thank you Balloonman! --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 13:21, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Adoption

I can help you learn more about editing wikipedia if you want. drop me a message on my talk page. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 09:53, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

To start check out the page I have made a page especially for you and your adoption program here. Read through what is on there and follow the links. If you have any questions, place them on the talk page under the heading Introduction. Also if you could fill out some details about what you want from this adoption and what your interests are would help me direct your program. Thanks :) Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 15:01, 25 August 2008 (UTC)

Tasks

I see from your contributions that you have been online, yet you have not completed the tasks that i have set you. They are not big tasks, and would only take five minutes of your time. If it is just the case that you have not realised that i have set you new tasks, can i strongly recommend that you add your program page to your watch list if you have not done so already. I am not asking for much and the tasks i set you are for your benefit. If i seem to be ranting please forgive me. It is just that i am giving up my own time to do this. Thank you. Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 13:01, 30 August 2008 (UTC)

I did sound like i was ranting a little before sorry about that. Could you give me some details on how frequently you would be on wikipedia so that I know what to expect when it comes to doing any tasks I set? Thanks Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 16:58, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

lol it's fine I'm on every day I was just a bit busey last week thats all --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 19:07, 31 August 2008 (UTC)

Phil Wilcher

Hey Antonio, Before removing the category, you might want to read the article. Phil Wilcher was one of the original wiggles. He left/was kicked off before the groups success. But he was one of the original members of the group.---Balloonman PoppaBalloon 18:56, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

I know that!! I just did not Like seeing him in That Category.. sorry --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 19:08, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

He still belongs... the category is usually indicative of current and past memebers.---Balloonman PoppaBalloon 20:26, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Sam Moran

Hi Jena,

I reverted your edit to Sam's article because the tag you added belongs on its talk page. I'll go ahead and place the tag there for you.

I see that you've been working hard trying to figure out how to edit for the encyclopedia. I'm glad that you're getting some mentoring. Keep it up! --Figureskatingfan (talk) 04:42, 5 September 2008 (UTC)

Adoption

My apologies for not being very active over the past couple of weeks. I have been having some problems with my Internet access. I am sorry to have to say this but you may wish to find another adapter. This would mean you are co-adopted. I will still continue to give you asks when i can, but you should direct your main questions to your other adopter. Sorry Jena, Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 09:31, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

It's ok I have to remove you as my Adopter cause I cant put myselfe up again but I understand I hope you get your net fixed... --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 17:55, 29 September 2008 (UTC)

Anthony

Hi, Jena. The article you suggest doesn't say anything different than what was already on Anthony's WP article, but it's a better source than the one that was there, so I changed it. While I was at it, I also made a couple of improvements to the article. I just love the name of the book he's writing. When it's published, you know that it'll go there. BTW, have you seen this video? Hubba-hubba! ;) --Figureskatingfan (talk) 05:17, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

LOL Yes I was the First Person Fitz gave the Link to when she put it up! I hope she meets them this fall I want more Vids! thanks for doing it for me!! --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 13:36, 30 September 2008 (UTC)

Adoption part 2

Jena,

To answer your question, go here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User/Adoptee%27s_Area/Adopters, and just ask someone on the list. I've learned that most folks on WP are more than willing to help. In that spirit, please know that if you ever had any questions, please feel free to ask me. Also in that spirit, when you responded on my talk page, you added a PS to what you had already written. That made it hard to know that you went and asked another question. The best thing to do is to start a new paragraph, or to start a new section. Oh, and don't forget to sign your posts. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 05:00, 5 October 2008 (UTC)

Wiggles infoboxes

Hi Jena, yes you are right--the infoboxes on the members of The Wiggles aren't uniform. I will fix that! Thanks for pointing it out. Oh, and don't forget to sign your posts. --Figureskatingfan (talk) 14:35, 15 October 2008 (UTC)

Adoptee assignments

Hi Jena, if we're gonna do this we might as well do this right. As your last adopter did, I created a project page for us. Please go there and work on your first assignments. Let me know if I've gone over the top. ;) --Figureskatingfan (talk) 05:57, 16 October 2008 (UTC)

Anthony article

Hey Jena, thanks for the article. The trouble with those kinds of articles at this late stage of The Wiggles' articles development is that there's very little news. It's a fun article, but most of the info in it we've already included in The Wiggles and Anthony Field. There was one new thing, though: the reason Anthony changed from a green to a blue shirt. So we should add it; perhaps that will be an adoptee assignment for ya! ;) --Figureskatingfan (talk) 23:50, 11 November 2008 (UTC)

Just to say hello :)

I haven't spoken to you in ages so i though i would drop by and say hi. I am back online and editing regularly now, so feel free to ask any questions. How are you getting on with your new adopter? I suppose they are a bit different than me. :) Gaia Octavia Agrippa Talk | Sign 22:36, 17 November 2008 (UTC)

Hey Jena

Hey Jena, sorry it's been so long since we've talked, and sorry I've been neglecting you. I was busy IRL, sickness swept through my little family, and I was working on getting Stanford Memorial Church to GA-status. Plus the holiday, doncha know. I've been thinking how to do this adoption thing, being new at it myself. Look at your project page in a few hours to see the direction I think we should be going. Oh, and thanks for the hot Anthony video! They always make my day. ;) --Figureskatingfan (talk) 20:52, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Your welcome! I hope you got the 2 vids I sent to you on youtube.. I think you are still my friend on there... I'll have to look it up.. I will look at my adoption page soon! OH the new wiggles eppis start Monday! --Jena I LOVE ANTHONY FIELD! (talk) 16:18, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Same to you!

Jena, thanks for the Christmas greetings. Hope you're having a nice holiday, too. I'm going to spend some of my Boxing Day working on some edits, including giving some new assignments. Take care! --Figureskatingfan (talk) 16:56, 26 December 2008 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:GREG Page.jpg

Replaceable fair use
Replaceable fair use

Thanks for uploading Image:GREG Page.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the media description page and edit it to add {{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 19:39, 23 February 2009 (UTC)

Nice muscle shirt

You can see one of his tattoos and everything! Sorry, but I just had to make the comment... ;)

If you need any help with the above, let me know and I'll see what I can do. Was that the only photo you were able to get? I'm assuming it was at a concert you attended. It really is a great one, so here's hoping you can get that free license set up. --Christine (talk) 04:11, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

I know it's WAY HOT! no I could not go to one this year a friend on Facebook went yesterday and gave that to me and seid I could upload it on hear. --Jena (talk) 17:50, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay, then this is what we need to do. Someone needs to send your friend an email and request that she release the photo to Wikipedia as a free image. I can lead you through that, or if you wouldn't mind giving me her address, I can make the request myself. If you choose the second option, make sure that you email it to me, to protect her privacy. Maybe we can request other Wiggles photos at the same time, since their article totally needs more/better images. --Christine (talk) 18:46, 17 August 2009 (UTC)
Jena, has there been anything done on this? We should move on this, or we're in danger of the image being deleted. Again, let me know how I can be of assistance. --Christine (talk) 04:27, 24 August 2009 (UTC)

Re:Anthony field pic

Hi ANTONIOROCKS. Your friend may have given you permission, but in order for the image to be used on Wikipedia, you must have written permission from your friend. Have them send an email to " permissions-en@wikimedia.org" stating that the image can be used on Wikipedia under the license of your friend's choice (see here for a list). Once your friend has sent the email, add the {{OTRS pending}} template to the image page. A user with an OTRS account will deal with the rest of the details. I realize this may sound long and unnecessary but this is simply Wikipedia's way of preventing copyright violations on the site. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 22:27, 17 August 2009 (UTC)

Paul Paddick

Please refrain from making nonconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did to Paul Paddick. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you.

"Vandalism"? Excuse me? WTF? My photo of Paul Paddick is a straight head shot, more suitable for the infobox. If you have a problem with it, fine -- discuss it with me. But don't go calling these types of edits "vandalism" or you are going to have a very difficult time editing here if you can't play nicely with others. howcheng {chat} 19:14, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

and [1] too? Do you have some sort of objection to Commons or something? howcheng {chat} 19:24, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

I'm sorry but thats NOT Paul Paddick so Please remove it --Jena (talk) 20:59, 19 October 2009 (UTC)

Ya know, Jena, when I saw the new image, I didn't think it looked much like Paddy, either. But how can we know for sure? I need to see some recent photos of him in some reliable news media to decide. I may even ask Sam Moran on Twitter, since I follow him, anyway. Then I'll get some input about how we should handle it. In the meantime, let's let the current image remain for now until we can figure it out. We don't want to engage in some revert war, ya know. I'd like to think that Howcheng has made the change in good faith, although I have to admit remembering Paddy being so much more handsome than the one on his page now. Darn it, I really should've developed our Wiggles concert photos before now. ;) In the meantime, let me do some research. --Christine (talk) 00:25, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

Thank you Christine! and when are you going to a concert again? WE NEED MORE PICKS!!! --Jena (talk) 01:55, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

You're welcome! Go read my response to Howcheng about this, will ya? I know, pics are a problem. I really need to get around to developing the photos I have, ya know? ;) Jena, you really should apologize to Howcheng. Established editors like him tend to get a little testy when they're accused of vandalism, and he was truly acting in good faith in wanting to improve Paddy's article. I mean, the guy was pretty reasonable, and actually considered our position. He had no malice in this situation. That's what I think, anyway. --Christine (talk) 12:45, 20 October 2009 (UTC)

File permission problem with File:THE 5 WIGGLES 2009 .JPG

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:THE 5 WIGGLES 2009 .JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 03:40, 25 October 2009 (UTC)

Sunny Side Up

They announced a new host debuting on 12/31--Denisha or Dennisha--but I couldn't find a source for the spelling of the name, so I left it out for now. But yeah--they're adding one. Not sure if one of the others is leaving, but somehow I doubt it. GJC 03:35, 23 December 2009 (UTC)
