File copyright problem with File:Horton lowres wiki.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:Horton lowres wiki.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. (ESkog)(Talk) 20:26, 13 April 2009 (UTC)
License tagging for File:DuB lowres wiki.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:DuB lowres wiki.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 22:06, 13 April 2009 (UTC)

Disputed fair use rationale for File:DuB lowres wiki.jpg}
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:DuB lowres wiki.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check:
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's escription page for each article the image is used in.
- That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.
Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. Your image uploads
[edit]I notice that you are identifying your uploads as being permitted for Wikipedia use only. Please note that, due to the terms of its license, Wikipedia is widely reusable, and therefore such a license is incompatible. Such images may be deleted from the project. You may want to clarify the licensing on your uploads. (ESkog)(Talk) 14:20, 14 April 2009 (UTC)

Hi there
[edit]I saw your post on the media page. I grew up in Jacksonville and have some experience with images.
Your images look like they are all made before 1923. Is this the case? If so, they are in the public domain and you can tag the images with a

[edit]Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. Reply to your question at Media copyright questions
[edit]In reply to your question at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions#Horton House image:As far as I can tell you have not given any non-free use rationale for use of File:Horton House image from 1927.jpg on Jekyll island museum. A non-free use rationale tells why the use conforms with Wikipedia’s non-free content policy. In particular for this image:
- WP:NFCC#1 Why couldn’t someone take a contemporary photo of the building and release it under a free license? Wouldn't that be equally useful to the article?
- WP:NFCC#8 Why is showing the image in the article necessary to readers’ understanding of the article?
- WP:NFCC#10c The rationale must name the article for which fair use is claimed.
It is not usually included in the rationale, but WP:NFCC#4 requires previous publication of non-free images outside of Wikipedia. Have your images been previously published? If so, when were they first published? Previous publication might put them into the public domain, which would resolve the non-free use problem.
I notice that you make a point of saying that the museum gives permission to use the images on Wikipedia. Unfortunately because of Wikipedia’s goal of creating reusable content, Wikipedia does not accept permission for use only on Wikipedia. Permission must allow reuse by anyone for anything. (File:Ernest Grob superintendent of the club.jpg was deleted because it had permission for use only on Wikipedia.)
Finally in case you were not aware of them, I would like to call your attention to the posts on the article talk page, Talk:Jekyll island museum. —teb728 t c 22:05, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
