Need verification help: Windows XP

Hi.

I think I need some help with Windows XP article. I once had a book that explained everything in the Windows XP CD's autorun menu but I've long lost it. I don't even remember its name. None of my existing Windows XP books have that.

Do you happen to have anything or know anything with similar contents?

What are your specific questions? I don't see anything in the article now that goes that deep into such details. The Autorun article, though, seems pretty comprehensive. (Personally I think it's nuts for us to have an article that goes that deep into a minor feature of an OS, but that's just me.) Jeh (talk) 08:08, 3 January 2015 (UTC)

Oh, AutoRun functionality isn't my question. Right now, I am in need of a source with details about a computer program called SETUP.EXE provided on Windows XP installation disc's root that started automatically upon inserting the disc and served as the launch point for exposing that disc's functionality, the first of which was running Windows XP installation wizard. It had a blue interface reminiscent of Windows XP's own Welcome screen.

This program had a menu called "Perform additional tasks". (Not sure about "tasks".) I want to know whether it did anything related to remote desktop, home networks, transfer wizard and .NET Framework. I could probably find a Windows XP disc myself but what I need is a Wikipedia-acceptable source. Do you happen to have anything lying around?

OK listen to this, just because SSDs can tolerate high temperature it doesn't mean that they have to or can work in high temps all the time. What does fuck does nick mean in your previous section? Is there any fucking human right?

I don't know how anyone's "human rights" are being affected here. As far as I know there is no "right" to post on Wikipedia, especially not when you continue to break Wikipedia's rules after repeated warnings. (And you certainly have no right to repeatedly harass me here with your foul language.)

One of those rules is that when you've been blocked, you are not allowed to use other accounts or anonymous (IP) access (i.e. sockpuppets, or "socks" for short) to WP:EVADE your block. Not even to post on user or article talk pages.

If you would like to regain your editing privileges (not "rights") on Wikipedia... I am not an admin, but as I understand it, you should carefully review your behavior leading up to each of your blocks so as to understand thoroughly why you were blocked. (Hint: In no case did it have anything to do with your edits to Physical address extension, or to its talk page, in 2009. The very idea of that is ludicrous.) Try to write an appeal that indicates that you understand why each of your rules violations was wrong, and give some reasons why the reviewing admin should believe that you won't break them again.

Since you are blocked from editing your own talk page you will have to use the WP:Unblock Ticket Request System.

You will need to read those pages and the pages they link to carefully and thoroughly. I must say that I don't think your behavior so far of repeatedly using multiple accounts to evade your block will help your case. But, I don't really know how an appeal would go: I say again, I am not an admin. I can't make any promises (nor would I if I were an admin).

If a normal WP:APPEAL fails, then perhaps WP:CLEANSTART would be applicable. Again, you'll want to read that thoroughly. Creating a new account and then continuing to post in the same manner to the same topics as before is not a "clean start." Jeh (talk) 05:27, 24 January 2015 (UTC)

Yes, I know who it is. No joke or insult was intended. I typed "nick", short for "nickname", because when I got back here to edit my page I frankly couldn't remember what nick you'd used (after all, there have been so many). It was simply an alternative to typing "the editor". Then, since you brought up your notion of "rights" as you have before, I tried to explain why your "rights" are not at issue here, and I tried to suggest a way to proceed if you want to regain your privilege to edit on English Wikipedia. Clearly, however, my hope for a reasonable, rational, calm response from you was unrealistic. I will not answer you again, as the effort is obviously wasted; you're simply not listening. (Which was one of the reasons for your indefinite blocks: you do not act as if you are here to collaboratively work on the encyclopedia.)
