[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Wikipedia. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Mkdwtalk 09:05, 1 February 2013 (UTC)

Jefunky, you are invited to the Teahouse
[edit]Hi Jefunky! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Afreaka !. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Demon Fuzz. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Demon Fuzz – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.
If you think that the article you created should remain separate, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions.
I don't think many English-speaking people are likely to look for the album under the name Afreaka ! with a space before the exclamation point. I will ask for Afreaka! and Afreaka to be made as redirects to Demon Fuzz, where I've added information about the album. 24.24.214.15 (talk) 09:10, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for May 5
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Hôtel particulier, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Palais Rohan (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

François Lhote moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, François Lhote, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Jefunky! Your additions to Pinheiral have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, it's important to understand and adhere to guidelines about using information from sources to prevent copyright and plagiarism issues. Here are the key points:
- Limited quotation: You may only copy or translate a small portion of a source. Any direct quotations must be enclosed in double quotation marks (") and properly cited using an inline citation. More information is available on the non-free content page. To learn how to cite a source, see Help:Referencing for beginners.
- Paraphrasing: Beyond limited quotations, you are required to put all information in your own words. Following the source's wording too closely can lead to copyright issues and is not permitted; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when paraphrasing, you must still cite your sources as appropriate.
- Image use guidelines: In most scenarios, only freely licensed or public domain images may be used and these should be uploaded to our sister project, Wikimedia Commons. In some scenarios, non-freely copyrighted content can be used if they meet all ten of our non-free content criteria; Wikipedia:Plain and simple non-free content guide may help with determining a file's eligibility.
- Copyrighted material donation: If you hold the copyright to the content you want to copy, or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license the text for publication here. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- Copying and translation within Wikipedia: Wikipedia articles can be copied or translated, however they must have proper attribution in accordance with Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. For translation, see Help:Translation § License requirements.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices. Persistent failure to comply may result in being blocked from editing. If you have any questions or need further clarification, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. -- Diannaa (talk) 09:17, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Diannaa,
- Thank you for your message. I really understand what you mean about the copyright and plagiarism. I will continue to rephrase. I think this information is worth it because it is not a "simple" plantation, it is one of the biggest plantations of the main colonial slave country !
- On the other hand, what i don't understand is why you removed the image. It is in the public domain, and is a very relevant exemple for this plantation (that merits to have its own article, one day i hope).
- Best regards, Jefunky (talk) 19:55, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- I removed the image because it is of a different location. Everybody knows what workers in a field look like, so it tells us nothing about the subject of the article. -- Diannaa (talk) 21:30, 15 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hello Diannaa,
- Thank you for your answer.
- In my opinion, it is not sure that everybody knows what Brazilian enslaved workers look like, or in this case why continue to consult the encyclopedia ? I am often in contact with children and students, and I can assure you that they do not all imagine the reality of the Brazilian slave coffee plantation.
- According to the location, you are right it's different, but I haven't managed to find one yet. The image i inserted seemed sufficiently related (same period and same culture). Possibly, I would like to propose on the talk page to put the illustration back in the article. What do you think ?
- Best regards, Jefunky (talk) 20:57, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
- I agree it's best to discuss it on the article talk page. -- Diannaa (talk) 21:07, 16 October 2024 (UTC)
