Not sure where to Turn
Hi Jeff, I was reading a bit on disruptive behavior. I am working on some posts and I must admit, my experience with Wikipedia has been somewhat poor, particularly with respect to the way reviewers talk to people. I am a surgeon, I have 32 peer reviewed publications in the medical literature. I am an editor and reviewer for 10 medical journals, included The Laryngoscope and a few other major journals. Needless to say, I know a bit about writing and referencing.
Today, I get this passive aggressive post on my question in the TeaRoom. I'm trying to be civil and helpful, but Im a bit shocked the way people treat each other around here. I really think someone should discuss this with this person.
Wikipedia isn't Social Media And nobody "posts" "pages" to it. It's an encyclopedia of notable topics, editable by anyone with access to WP:Reliable sources.--Quisqualis (talk) 00:30, 1 April 2019 (UTC) Jbonapar (talk) 01:53, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Jbonapar: Music blogs are not peer reviewed. We are more stringent here about sourcing. See also WP:RS and WP:RSN. — Jeff G. ツ 12:06, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
Hi Jeff, I think that is my issue, i've posted articles, reviews from CBC (National and Local), Global news, Halifax Herald (Halifax and Nova Scotia's largest print newspaper), Cape Breton Post (Cape Breton's largest print newspaper). Its much more than blogs, but people seem to be focusing on Blogs. All the articles i've written have a collection of blogs, print newspaper, online paper, radio, etc.
I have no idea why editors will not discuss these good references and continue to focus on blogs. Jbonapar (talk) 11:29, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Jbonapar: Re Draft:The Night Time Podcast: December has never had 131 days; please document the number of episodes in each season; and please ensure that the names of all authors in your references are in mixed case. — Jeff G. ツ 11:56, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
Template:RE listed at Redirects for discussion
An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Template:RE. Since you had some involvement with the Template:RE redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion if you wish to do so. Headbomb {t · c · p · b} 16:20, 3 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Headbomb: Thanks, I replied there. — Jeff G. ツ 16:41, 3 April 2019 (UTC)

Thursday April 4 and Friday April 5: Translat-a-thon NYC 2019 @ LaGuardia Community College | |
Translat-a-thon NYC 2019 @ LaGuardia Community College is hosting the second annual Wikipedia Translatathon! At this event on Thursday evening and during the day Friday this week, anyone from the public is invited to LaGuardia to join students, professors, and CUNY faculty in translating Wikipedia articles among any languages which attendees understand. Themes for this event include public health and the history of New York City. New York City has a large immigrant population and great diversity of speakers of various languages. Among all schools in New York City, LaGuardia has the highest percentage of immigrant students, the highest percentage of students who speak a language other than English as their first language, and the greatest representation of language diversity. It is a strength of LaGuardia that it can present "Wikipedia translatathons", which are Wikipedia translation events. |

HalleysDad (talk) 19:58, 5 April 2019 (UTC) Hi, thanks for the feedback on my editing changes. Definitely want to avoid any conflicts of interest and follow the Wikipedia rules, so if I read what you wrote me correctly, I can go through the whole page (which has several errors or items in need of updating), make the changes I think necessary, then submit it to you for review, editing, etc.? Just want to get this thing current, not shill or editorialize. Thanks.
- @HalleysDad: You're welcome. Please add your specific suggestions in a separate section on Talk:Western University of Health Sciences using {{request edit}} like @Westernuwriter has done using the instructions at Template:RE/I#For submitters. The two of you can collaborate on talk or user talk pages, or even off-wiki (after specifying and confirming a valid email address). You should also sign at the bottom of your posts, rather than the top. — Jeff G. ツ 10:25, 6 April 2019 (UTC)

Hi,
I've tried now several times to upload a free photograph of Terence Winter to his Wikipedia page (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terence_Winter). Every time you or another moderator flags it and it is then taken down. At first you said it was a conflict of interest. It is not. I am not, nor do I represent or work for Mr. Winter in any way, Terence Winter. As for the photograph (that was probably again taken down), that is a photo that can be found online for free at: https://variety.com/2016/film/news/terence-winter-scarface-reimagining-antoine-fuqua-1201872923/. The author of the photograph is Brigitte Lacombe.
My last upload was on 19:15, 26 April 2019. Please see that the page reverts to that correct form.
Thank you.

- It was removed as a copyright violation per Commons:Commons:L, just because it's online, it doesn't mean we can use it. RhinosF1(chat)(status)(contribs) 21:23, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
- @SummerWinter99: Please stop uploading it and instead have the copyright holder send permission via C:OTRS with a carbon copy to you. — Jeff G. ツ 21:58, 27 April 2019 (UTC)
