Speedy deletion nomination of User:JedSimms
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on User:JedSimms, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. NTox · talk 07:17, 21 September 2012 (UTC)
Totally Optimized Projects
[edit]Hi, Jed. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. Lots of problems. I deleted your recent article because:
- It did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. In your message you say " is used on four continents and is recognized as the world's leading strategy execution/project delivery approach by Harvard Business School, UK Business Schools, Gartner, etc", but I see nothing referenced to those organisations to confirm that fact, or to support the multi-continent claim. Your own references seem to be closely affiliated to this project, and not independent third-party sources. Since you have not used in-line citation, it's also hard so see what source is supporting each statement that you make.
- It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Examples of unsourced claims presented as fact include: guarantees every leader can execute their strategy and achieve the desired result... to equip them to execute their strategy and reap the desired returns... the true nature of each step... has been in use since 1994 across multiple industries and project types... selected as an “Outstanding Product Innovation”... consistently returned highly positive returns... designed to equip organizations to immediately operate at capability level 4... TOP covers all dimensions of investment strategy execution and value delivery from corporate planning through to benefits realization... TOP is totally scalable, its knowledge and knowhow can be used to implement a minor organizational change through to a complete strategic transformation program. No prior project management or other change delivery experience is required. Indeed, it is designed to be easily understood, adopted and used by the existing incumbent business staff that know their business and have to live with the results...
- The entire Differences section consists of claims unsupported by independent references.
- This research was conducted at The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) by TOP’s founder Jed Simms — I would have thought a link to publication in a peer-reviewed journal was more appropriate than a reference to a self-authored book.
- Publications It's normal with books to give factual info like author, publisher and isbn rather than a mini-plug for each.
- The article was mainly created in a single edit without wikilinks, and looks as if was copied from an unknown and possibly copyrighted source. I didn't check for this because of all the other problems.
- You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. It's common, if the organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), to post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created, but I see you've tried that, so I'm not sure how you are going to get a neutral encyclopaedic article for this topic.
