A Spectre is Haunting Europe has been proposed for deletion. An editor felt this group might not yet be notable enough for an article. Please review Wikipedia:Notability (music) for the relevant guidelines. If you can improve the article to address these concerns, please do so.
If no one objects to the deletion within five days by removing the "prod" notice, the article may be deleted without further discussion. If you remove the prod notice, the deletion process will stop, but if an editor is still not satisfied that it meets Wikipedia guidelines, it may be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion for consensus. - Hi there. As I'm not an admin, I don't have the ability to restore articles. I'm merely an editor who thought you'd like to know someone had proposed an article you'd started for deletion. If you click the redlink, then click "deletion log", you'll see that User:Kungfuadam is the admin who deleted the article after five days without objection. He should restore the article at your request, per WP:PROD#Conflicts. Make sure that you edit the article to emphasize how it meets Wikipedia notability guidelines to prevent it from being sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion.
- As far as opposing the guidelines themselves, simply bring it up at the talk page: Wikipedia talk:Notability (music). Guidelines aren't passed down from higher authorities, they're simply agreed on by consensus of editors like you and me. If you have good suggestions, they'll be listened to. aLUnARED
With respect to aLUnARED, I would suggest that you follow the link on the copyright violation warning that says "follow this link to a temporary subpage", and re-write the article in your own words (or in the case of a document that you wrote, just re-write it from scratch with the same facts). Wikipedia has a copyright policy that does involve a way to assign rights to content that has been used elsewhere, but in the vast majority of cases, it's just not worth it. Also, please review Wikipedia's notability guidelines for music. It may seem annoying that Wikipedia has all of these rules, but we have to be fairly strict about copyright by law, and as far as notability goes... well the community decided that there was a line to draw between encyclopedic and non-encyclopedic, it's that simple. If your article makes the case for a band meeting the criteria, then the band will stay. If it doesn't then there's a good chance it will go away.
Thank you for your contributions, and happy editing! -Harmil 11:53, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Thank you so much!!!!!
Thanks so much for saving the Mark Klein page! It makes me feel good that there are at least some people at Wikipedia who are doing the right thing. I hate when others don't read the rules/guidelines first without checking right rather than to just get it deleted. Makes so sense to me. Anyway, thanks again so much!Fanficgurl 12:51 March 21 2007 (UTC)
