Hi, if a page is semi-protected, it means only established editors can edit the page. If you continue to be active for just a few more days, you should be able to add yourself. Cheers and welcome to Wikipedia. -Kudzu1 (talk) 02:05, 13 September 2011 (UTC)
Re: Raid
The tag is there to question the title of the article itself. I'm not going to start a rename discussion or anything so large, I'm just making it known that it needs to be sourced. The name was wiki-invented by editors who thought it was a raid, and so is fallible. ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 03:13, 13 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi
You reverted edits to this page, saying "the videos are in reference to his father, not moatassem". This is not correct. The videos linked are of Moatassem. Please watch for yourself and see. Perhaps you were thinking of some different videos which were not those linked to? Here are the links for you to watch:

Executed - there is going to be a murder trial
Its quite clear he was executed and murdered - lets stop pussyfooting around - there is going to be a trial a murder trial -. Off2riorob (talk) 02:31, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
His convoy was attacked by Nato warplanes - He was shot in the head, murdered, executed by a rebel after he surrendered. Its not disputed. Off2riorob (talk) 02:33, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, and lets wait until the murder trial until it is published as fact, and not rumour to put it in the lead. Keep that stuff to the Death of Muammar Gaddafi article. Jeancey (talk) 02:51, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
- No its doesn't belong anywhere else - it belongs in his life story - he didn't die in unclear situation - he was murdered, executed - and his convoy was bombed by nato warplanes - stop removing it - get real - accept it, there is going to be a murder trial. He was shot in the head by a rebel after he surrendered. - What don't you understand? Off2riorob (talk) 02:59, 28 October 2011 (UTC)
- I understand that you DON'T have a source stating that. Unless you do have one that you aren't using please see WP:RS. You can't just use common sense for that. Jeancey (talk) 03:02, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Confirmed Gaddafi dead: Colonel Gaddafi killed in cold blood begging for his life - FUGITIVE Colonel Gaddafi was executed in cold blood in a drainage ditch desperately begging for his life, it emerged this afternoon. The toppled despot is thought to have fled his car after his speeding convoy fleeing his Sirte stronghold was attacked in a NATO airstrike at 6am UK time. Two fighter jets attacked the vehicles as they fled the Sirte assault, although neither of the planes that struck the convoy was flown by the RAF. - Off2riorob (talk) 03:09, 28 October 2011 (UTC)

Gadaffi was captured by the rebel soldiers, he was disarmed and was then beaten and anally raped with a knife and shot in the head in the manner of execution, while completely defenceless - what is there that you don't want to accept? Off2riorob (talk) 21:08, 30 October 2011 (UTC)

Gadaffi
Its all over the press and citable - its exactly what happened - even if you do not like it. Please don't call good faith citable content additions vandalism - that is a personal attack - please read - WP:Vandalism and please don't repeat your personal attack. Off2riorob (talk) 22:08, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
This is a repeat of the vandalism claim - please stop your personal attacks - Off2riorob (talk) 22:11, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I didn't personally attack you. If you read what I posted on your talk page, I explained why I reverted it. I said nothing about you at all, I simply talked about your edits, and suggested a place where it would be appropriate to add it. Please refer to that before you add it into the lead. Its talked about as rumours, not as fact. Also, calling something vandalism is NOT a personal attack. see WP:NPA#WHATIS for what is considered a personal attack. Jeancey (talk) 22:13, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I have not investigated your link but as I have seen repeated accusations of vandalism in regard ot good faith content additions is not considered vandalism and accusations that it is vandalism is often reported as personal attack. Off2riorob (talk) 22:17, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
I realize it makes uncomfortable reading if you support the rebels but that is the reports all over the press sorry if you don't like it but wikipedia still needs to report it. Off2riorob (talk) 22:14, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I haven't said that it shouldn't be on wikipedia. In fact, I suggested you put it in the Death of Muammar Gaddafi article. I'm not saying it should be on here, I just said it shouldn't be THERE. "The lead should be able to stand alone as a concise overview." This does not belong in the lead. Jeancey (talk) 22:17, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- Its not easy to read but the details of someones death belong in his article, if as controversial as this some detail belongs in the lede. Off2riorob (talk) 22:19, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
Gadaffi
Your recent edits seem to have the appearance of edit warring after a review of the reverts you have made on Muammar Gaddafi. Users are expected to collaborate and discuss with others and avoid editing disruptively.
Please be particularly aware, the three-revert rule states that:
- Making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period is almost always grounds for an immediate block.
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss the changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. - Off2riorob (talk) 22:20, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I haven't reverted it 3 times. I changed it once, you reverted twice, and then I reverted twice.
canvassing
Hi - please don't go around asking for users opinion as you have done in this talkpage request User_talk:Lothar_von_Richthofen#Your_opinion it creates an immediate apparent attempt to seek support. Off2riorob (talk) 22:41, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, that particular user edits these article often and I know that they are reliable and will NOT take my side simply because I asked for it. I trust their judgement on the matter, even if they side against me. I'm really looking to resolve this quickly as it is a high profile article. Jeancey (talk) 22:45, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- Please stop seeking opinions like that - the talkpage comment is plenty - I am sorry if you are unable to accept what happened but ultimately nothing will obscure this simple facts. and then soon after gadaffi died" as though he was shot by a stray bullet is not a position that anyone is supporting anymore. Off2riorob (talk) 22:49, 2 November 2011 (UTC)
- I haven't posted anything else like that. And saying he died soon after isn't pushing any position. Its a fact. He was caught, and then he died. Anything else that happened is ontop of that, but saying he was anally raped, which doesn't appear in any source, is not appropriate for wikiepdia. Jeancey (talk) 22:53, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Pravda an RS...
I initiated a thread on WP:RSN as to whether Pravda was or wasn't an RS. Perhaps you could explain, here, there, or on Talk:Russian_detainees_at_Guantanamo_Bay, why you made this edit?
Can I make a suggestion? In my experience controversial edits should be explained on the talk page. In my experience when controversial edits are explained with brief notes in an edit summary it represents a terrible temptation to those who disagree to reply, with another edit, so they can leave their reply in their edit summary. In my experience, the practice of cryptic explanations of controversial edits very commonly trigger edit wars. Geo Swan (talk) 02:33, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- Actually, There was already a RSN that decided that Pravda was not a RS. You can find it here. I may have made a mistake though. I did not think it would be controversial, so I didn't think twice about it. Jeancey (talk) 02:36, 20 November 2011 (UTC)
- I already read that discussion thank you. I linked to it in the current noticeboard discussion. We don't agree as to whether that discussion established a consensus. And as I said in the noticeboard, the discussion you refer to concerned opinion pieces published in Pravda -- which this article was not. Geo Swan (talk) 10:44, 20 November 2011 (UTC)

Glyphs page issues
Hi, Jeancey,
Thank you for your last message regarding my Egyptian Libyan glyphs article.
I misunderstood wikipedia's guidelines concerning publishing content. I was unaware that I'm not allowed to publish anything that I am responsible for myself.
There is noone in the world yet, that I can find, that is interested in recognizing my find; I have reached out to anthropologists, archeologists, museums, the BBC, the History channel and even an American ambassador. I made it a point of not making the article about me, but about what was found.. and not the fact that 'I' found it.
Is there any way this content can be published on wikipedia by me to create a discussion and get other people involved in? That was really why I added it to wikipedia to begin with; to raise awareness.
i appreciate your kind words of recognition for my work and thanks for your guidance as I am just learning about wikipedia !
Sincerely,

Thanks for editing. Details about numbers?
Thanks for making my work on the Tawergha-page quicker to read. You re-inserted the population of Tawergha as 10.000 people. All UN-, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International and main media stuff I read is between 28.000 and 35.000. UN has registered about 20.000 (mostly black skinned) refugees from Tawergha. So I think the 10.000 is only a rough guess of the number of lighter skinned people of Tawergha. Somehow it doesn't feel right to use that number, after the ethnic cleansing. You're right I would need to come up with sources:
http://www.irinnews.org/report.aspx?ReportID=94455 (IRIN is part of UN) TRIPOLI, 13 December 2011 (IRIN) .. --Box 2:-- Doing the math Sites for displaced Tawergha are growing by the day, as people from Tawergha come out of the woodwork. UNHCR says some 20,000 Tawergha are registered in sites run by LibAid in Tripoli, Benghazi, Tarhouna and other smaller towns and cities across the country.
Another 7,000 or so were recently discovered in the south, near the town of Sebha. But Tawergha’s population was originally some 35,000 people. The rest remain unaccounted for - either staying with relatives or friends under the radar or hiding in the desert, afraid to emerge.

http://www.hrw.org/features/libya-tawergha-residents-terrorized-militias Human Rights Watch Libya: Tawergha Residents Terrorized by Militias, October 27, 2011 Introduction: Militias from the city of Misrata are terrorizing the displaced residents of the nearby town of Tawergha, accusing them of having committed atrocities with Gaddafi forces in Misrata. Human Rights Watch interviewed dozens of Tawerghans across the country, including 26 people in detention in and around Misrata and 35 displaced people staying in Tripoli, Heisha, and Hun. They gave credible accounts of Misrata militias shooting unarmed Tawerghans, and of arbitrary arrests and beatings of Tawerghan detainees, in a few cases leading to death. The entire town of 30,000 people is abandoned – some of it ransacked and burned – and Misrata brigade commanders say the residents of Tawergha should never return.

Al-Debka
Just for future reference, please remove any statements referenced by the arab news source al-Debka. Al-debka is a fake news site, which publishes rumors they make up. The rumors most orient on Iran/Alqaeda/Syria/Iraq issues. Nothing Al-Debka reports on ever gets confirmed. It is not used by any news sources as a reference. I am only telling you because i notice you do alot of work on middle eastern articles, and I recently notice scattered instances of users using al-debka as a reference.
