Welcome!

[edit]
Howdy, Jdedmond, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Thank you for your contributions; you seem to be off to a good start. Hopefully you will soon join the vast army of Wikipediholics! If you need help on how to title new articles, see the naming conventions, and for help on formatting pages, visit the manual of style. For general questions, go to Wikipedia:Help or the FAQ; if you can't find your answer there, check the Village Pump (for Wikipedia related questions) or the Reference Desk (for general questions). There's still more help at the Tutorial and Policy Library. Plus, don't forget to visit the Community Portal. If you have any more questions after that, feel free to ask me directly on my user talk page.

Additional tips

[edit]

Here are some extra tips to help you get around in the 'pedia!

Be bold

[edit]

Be bold in updating pages! You can find instantaneous help any time simply by typing {{help}} anywhere on your own user or user talk page.
You can find me at my user page or talk page for any questions. Happy editing, and we'll see ya 'round.

Yeast

Thanks for your reply; unfortunately I'd already done the experiment when it arrived, as I have to meet the GCSEs coursework deadline. I'm putting your answer in the 'evaluation' section of my investigation, where I can suggest possible ways to improve it. Just one other thing - do you happen to know the chemical equation involved? It's something like C12H22O11 → ? + CO2 + energy released. Don't worry if you don't know - I'm not sure the equation is required, but it might get me another point. Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in ...

[edit]

I saw your name at Wikipedia:Photo_Matching_Service. I revised the pages at Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in England. Please consider adding your name to the top of the page at Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in Oxfordshire and to any of the other subpages for Category:Wikipedia requested photographs in England. Thanks. GregManninLB (talk) 01:35, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are invited to the first ever Oxford Wiki Meetup which will take place at The Four Candles, 51 George Street, Oxford, OX1 2BE on Sunday 4 November 2012 from 1.00 pm.

I hope as many people as possible will be able to attend so that we can make this a regular event. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Oxford related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you.
