[edit]Hello, I'm Gab4gab. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. You removed a reference and added material without providing any references. In addition phrases such as "...so began the school’s reputation for excellent sporting abilities." are not neutral and would require published secondary sources. Hello again Jcwood01, Your recent message to me on my talk page, your edit summaries and your edit history suggest you may have a conflict of interest regarding Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre. Please take the time to review WP:COI and then follow the disclosure instructions if needed.
In my previous message I explained why I had reverted your recent addition of content and gave you advice about adding it again. I see that you have added nearly the same content again without citing any sources or toning down the promotiona language. My advice is based on various Wikipedia policies. While you may disagree with other editors it is still best to be guided by the consensus policies of Wikipedia rather than your own personal preferences.
You have indicated that your changes are being made at the request of the school and are approved by the school. Organizations have no ownership of Wikipedia articles about them. See the related policy at WP:OWNERSHIP. It is likely that the objective fact claims in your addition are accurate. Wikipedia verifiablity policy requires that content be based on reliable published souces. This allows readers to verify the content by accessing the published sources themselves. Contacting the school should not be necessary to verify content.
Because you did not provide a reliable source for the content you added I will again remove it. I am happy to provide you with assistance if you need help in adding citations or have other questions. Be aware that repeatedly adding unsourced content to articles may be considered disruptive editiing which could result in an editor being blocked. Gab4gab (talk) 16:12, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- It's difficult to continue to assume good faith when you have now added unsourced content three times, twice after being warned that you need to cite a reliable source. I've again reverted your addition. Perhaps you could explain why on the article talk page where I will add a section on unsourced content. I haven't seen any response regarding your apparent conflict of interest. I appreciate that you did remove some promotional language. Gab4gab (talk) 17:59, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- You are invited to explain your unsourced content additions at Talk:Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre#Unsourced content. Gab4gab (talk) 18:08, 12 November 2020 (UTC)
- Wikipedia has a problem with your conflict of interest . This stems from the phrase ' by our marketing and communications manager.' that you wrote in an edit comment. The word our which identifies you as a member of staff at the school. As a former teacher I can see why you would want to check the veracity of the information in the way you did, but there is a clash of cultures with this and wikipedias policies. The person that commits the edit must have no connection with the school. Wikipedia bans paid editing-and work sponsored by the 'marketing' teams.
- There is no restriction on an employee putting the corrections on the talk page, with the source where that can be checked, and then one of the page watchers will assess it, and post the changes. All the information you are trying to add looks well researched and credible, I want to encourage you to continue but denial and reverting is not constructive. Wikipedia does block editors when this happens too often. --ClemRutter (talk) 20:29, 13 November 2020 (UTC)

Move or rename of Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre
[edit]Hello Jcwood01, I see that you have decided to move Cheltenham Bournside School and Sixth Form Centre to Cheltenham Bournside School. Unfortunately the steps you have taken are not correct. Currently the previous edit history of both the article and its talk page are missing. I suggest you undo what you have done and then request the move at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests per the instructions at WP:BEFOREMOVING. The process requires steps only an administrator can perform. Gab4gab (talk) 15:56, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- Gab4gab, I have undone the redirection. I view that this redirection is done to hide the negative information that is on the page, as what is pasted in the redirection page seems to be devoid of those parts. Hard to AGF on this action. – robertsky (talk) 19:10, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- Note: A request for technical assistance have been submitted to rename the page at Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests. – robertsky (talk) 21:00, 24 May 2021 (UTC)
- Robertsky, Thanks for cleaning things up. Gab4gab (talk) 13:53, 25 May 2021 (UTC)
