Notability of Norbert Susemihl
[edit]A tag has been placed on Norbert Susemihl, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. RJASE1 Talk 02:44, 28 February 2007 (UTC)
This tag has been removed, because the recordings and band memberships might prove Notability. As I am unable to judge this, and not specific references are not provided, I have nominated it for prod, which allows 5 days to improve the article.DGG 05:23, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

Inline citations
[edit]Hi jazzjzz, please visit WP:Referencing for Beginners on how to cite the source in the article. It is not the correct format to put the URL addresses under the References section as you have done in Norbert Susemihl. Content claimed need to support by inline citation where it applied. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 07:56, 21 June 2018 (UTC)

Hello Cassiopeia,
thanks for your advice about my edits I had made today. The first one was indeed a copy from the artists page and I was not aware that it would violate copyright rules on Wikipedia. But I do not understand why you reverted the next change I made. It is purely factal and ads and updates some informations. Why do you call that vandalism? Best, JazzJazz Jazzjazz (talk) 08:44, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Jazzjazz, Greetings to you. First of all, you need to ping me so would know you have sent me a message. Just add
{{ping|user name}}
before you start you message. (pls type manually and not copy and paste) - example to ping me, type {{txl|ping|CASSIOPEIA)). Secondly, you need to sign your posts by typing four tildes (~~~~
) after you finish your message. The only talk page you dont need ping an editor is on the editor talk page who your message is intended for. For example, I dont ping you here in you talk page, but would ping your on all other talk page such as article talk page, discussion talk page, WikiProject talk page and etc. - copyright violation - Please not Wikipedia takes copy right violation VERY seriously as it has legal implication of such violation - this is a form of vandalism as it does harm the page. You summary the source content "in your own words" but not copy and paste is the way to go. Secondly if the source is primary (such as from homepage, interview piece, press releases,directory, listing, IMBD, FB, original research and etc) that would not support the notability of the subject. Source need to be secondary (from review newspaper or publications) where by they need to be reputable organisations. The lastly, it needs significant coverage which the sources talk about the subject "directly" instead of mere passing mention. Let me know if anything else I could help. Cheers. - @CASSIOPEIA: Thanks for your answer. I very much appreciate your help. What is the proper way to ad the changes I had made in my second edit. They contained for example extra names Susemihl had recorded with in New Orleans, and some updates and reformulations about his career and musical style. So I still can not see why this was labeled as "disruptive editing", or "vandalizing" it was all correct informations and factual. Also his main website domain name is www.susemihl.eu, and not www.susemihl-all-stars.eu. Then I wanted to ad a link to his discography which is here: https://susemihl.eu/discography.html
- I do not really know how to ad references, so that's why I simply added links to other indenpendend websites with reviews about Susemihl. Jazzjazz (talk) 09:14, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Jazzjazz, When I removing the edit, it remove all the edits you made and one warning message is sent for all edits. Pls click on texts highlighted in "blue' where it will bring you to pages which have details of the subject. Please read all the links I provided and the welcome message link on top of your talk page. Read Help:Referencing for beginners on how to cite a source in body text. Read WP:RS for what constitutes a reliable and dependent source. In addition, content added need to be written neutral point of view. Lastly, pls see (in source editing mode) on how to ping a person (I have corrected your ping above). You didnt input the wiki code correctly, for such I didnt receive a notification that you ping me. You page is on my watchlist that is the reason I know you wrote to me. If you need further help, let me know. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 09:51, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- @CASSIOPEIA: Hi again, I see that I have to devote some time to learn how to edit correctly. But will it be ok for now if I go ahead an correct the domain name and ad the names of the extra musicians? Jazzjazz (talk) 10:05, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, you can, and do provide the source as well. If you do it know and if it need correctly, I will help. By the way, do add an extra "colon - :" from the previous message. This : is an indentation (moving one space to the right), this is how Wikipedians communication so, it is easy to see the communication from one editor to the next. There are many "wikicode" when you are ready to know more, let me know as I do not want overload you with information in one night/day wherever you are at the moment :). Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 10:12, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- @CASSIOPEIA: OK, Thanks Jazzjazz (talk) 10:25, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Pls see here - the "different in the history of what I have done. I have rework on the inline citation. Instead of copy and paste the URL into the body text, you need to click "cite" from the menu on top of the page, and fill in the necessary fields. (note work=publication). Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 11:00, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- @CASSIOPEIA: Hi, thanks, I see. But now it does not say "Website:" and respectively "Discography:" before the two website links.
- Also the second link which is supposed to lead to the discography says just "susemihl.eu" instead of "www.susemihl.eu/discography.html ???
- Cheers Jazzjazz (talk) 11:49, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi Jazzjazz, you NEED to ping me. You forgot again :). I use Wikipedia:VisualEditor tool to cite the source (you could see my name on #64 on the page). The tool would automatically filled the necessary fields for you and all it requires is to pass the URL. You have to download the tool to do that. Since it is machine assist tool, it sometimes could not able to provide info to full all necessary fields as the software could not able to pick up especially the editor of the article. Also, as it is a different group of MediaWiki software volunteers designed the software, the wording is slightly different from manually key in. There are many acceptable format of citing in Wikipedia and also there are slight deterrent fields for different source, such as from the web, books, journals and etc. You could redo the inline citation by clicking the "cite" on the top menu and fill n the fields. Leave out the fields if you dont have the info. cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:05, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- P/S :citing from internet source - please see WP:CITEWEB and its template -see Template: cite web . CASSIOPEIA(talk) 12:06, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
@CASSIOPEIA: Thanks, I see that I'll need to study these editing tools and rules much more. They seem quite complicated, almost like programming a website.
I'll look into it more when I have the time. Another question, how can I, or someone, put in more verification links and info, so that the 2 boxes with the orange exclamation-marks on the top of the page disappear. Could you do that if you have time? Thanks, Jazzjazz (talk) 12:40, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, Jazzjazz, the tag on top of page are meant for interest editors who have visited the page and would like to help to improve the page by providing source to back up the content. It is very common to have tags as such in articles. The tag will only removed if the issues have been addressed and if not, the tag will remain. At the current stage, due to lack of independent, reliable source provided to back up the content to show the subject meeting the notability requirements, the page might subject for deletion. Check this out for it will answer you the most basic and code requirements of having a page stay in Wikipedia - pls see WP:GOLDENRULE. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:22, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Thanks so much for your help and advice :-) Jazzjazz (talk) 13:26, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
- Hi, It is fairly complicated for newscomers as they are a lot to learn. You would always ask for assistance by (1) insert
{{help me}}
on your talk page, (2) ask any WP:Teahouse for "editing" question, (3) visit WP:HD for general question and (4) WP:Village Pump for technical questions. Wikipedia has a policy of being Wikipedia:Civility, and if you are polite, you would find many editor would willing to lend a hand. Good night. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 13:31, 21 June 2018 (UTC)
