Malcolm H. Myers
[edit]Hello! I came across Malcolm H. Myers and fixed it up. It is now published. Thank you for your contributions. --- Possibly (talk) 09:09, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Also, after looking at this a bit more, it seems clear that you may have a strong conflict of interest--i.e. that you are not a neutral party when it comes to Myers. Is that correct? I'll leave you some information on how to deal with a COI next. The main thing is that you should not edit the Myers article directly. Thanks.--- Possibly (talk) 09:21, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Jayho1970. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. --- Possibly (talk) 09:21, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Malcolm Myers. THANK YOU
[edit]Thank you to all who are helping get this page published. Jayho1970 (talk) 17:18, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- Hello. No problem. Regarding the question you asked on my talk page, the answer is that you should avoid editing the Myers page directly. You have a clear financial conflict of interest, and we prefer that those with COI use the talk page to request edits. Thanks. --- Possibly (talk) 17:28, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
- PS: some collections (e.g. LACMA) failed verification. I am guessing the list of collections is very old and some works may have been de-assessed.--- Possibly (talk) 17:28, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
Images
[edit]Hello. Presumably you have access to images of Myers and of his work. If you can upload either to Wikimedia Commons, these can be used int he article. The only catch is that you have to release copyright on them to do so. Commons is at this link; you can log in with the same Wikipedia login/password. There is a process called OTRS for releasing the copyright. --- Possibly (talk) 18:43, 14 June 2021 (UTC)
