MfD nomination of User:Jayblackcar
[edit]User:Jayblackcar, a page you substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Jayblackcar and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of User:Jayblackcar during the discussion but should not remove the miscellany for deletion template from the top of the page; such a removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you. Syrthiss (talk) 15:24, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Please do not remove Articles for deletion notices from articles, or remove other people's comments in Articles for deletion debates, as you did with User:Jayblackcar. Otherwise, it may be difficult to create consensus. If you oppose the deletion of an article, please comment at the respective page instead. Thank you. Syrthiss (talk) 15:37, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Hopefully not too late for a reboot
[edit]Hello, Jayblackcar,
Well the stuff above seems kind of an unfriendly welcome, doesn't it?
I'm going to leave you our standard welcome template below, which has some links you might find useful. But first I want to explain a little bit what's going on at your user page. We have to compromise between letting people experiment with the software so they learn how to make an article, and allowing people to create fake articles, or use Wikipedia to just store their own personal blogs, pages, etc. It's a tricky balance.
Is the article on your user page intended to be for fun, as a prelude to creating a real article, as an experiment to see how wikisyntax works, or something else? The answer will help decide what to do with it. In the mean time, please don't remove the {{mfd}} thing on the page; that gets people riled up.
Let me know if you need help with something. And here is the promised welcome template. Cheers. --Floquenbeam (talk) 15:03, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
Welcome!
Hello, Jayblackcar, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are some pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Tutorial
- How to edit a page and How to develop articles
- How to create your first article (using the Article Wizard if you wish)
- Manual of Style
I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome!
- Hey Jayblackcar, I took the liberty of moving your page to User:Jayblackcar/sandbox: a sandbox is the appropriate place for working on the draft of an article. It may well be that I get overruled there, and it may be that it will either be moved back to your user page (for the time being) or deleted pursuant to the MfD discussion, at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Jayblackcar. (BTW, I think you should go to that discussion and argue your case for this being something--I can't make that case for you.) Good luck, Drmies (talk) 17:42, 24 February 2012 (UTC)
- You still have time to comment in the deletion discussion, here: Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:Jayblackcar. Until that discussion is settled, please don't remove the {{mfd}} tag from the page, nor the __NOINDEX__ tag. If they're removed again, I'll have to restore them and lock the page so you can't edit it anymore, and I'd hate to have to do something that unfriendly. --Floquenbeam (talk) 13:55, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
