Hi. I'm Saberwyn, one of the main contributors to the article. Thanks for the props on the article.... its good to see someone finding it useful.

As for your father's memoir, I would be interested in looking at the information to further my own understanding of the attack (my parents weren't even born when this happened), but unless it is what Wikipedia regards as a WP:Reliable source (i.e. professionally published), it would not be valid for the article.

As for how close M-24 was to Chicago, accounts do vary widely. The information in the article is the majority view between the published sources on the attack.
