Warning of edit-warring on Peaberry Coffee

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Peaberry Coffee. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24-hour period. Additionally, users who perform several reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. When in dispute with another editor you should first try to discuss controversial changes to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. Should that prove unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Please stop the disruption, otherwise you may be blocked from editing. -- Atama 15:41, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Javalover100, because you decided to revert again after the warning, I've made a report at the noticeboard for edit-warring. If you have a dispute with the content of the Peaberry Coffee article, please discuss this at the talk page of the article. Your edits have repeatedly removed information from the article which is verified by an external link provided and has been contested by numerous editors. You need to give a reason why you are choosing to remove that information and convince other editors, you cannot simply remove it against consensus. Thank you. -- Atama 16:40, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked for 24 hours

[edit]
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 24 hours in accordance with Wikipedia's blocking policy for your disruption caused by edit warring and violation of the three-revert rule. During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. If you believe this block is unjustified, you may contest the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. You have been accused of sockpuppetry. Please refer to Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Javalover100 for evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with notes for the suspect before editing the evidence page. -- Atama 22:35, 9 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppetry

[edit]

Hello Javalover100. You have just been blocked for a week for evading a block by using "sock puppets". A block is when you are prevented from editing Wikipedia. You attempted to avoid that block by creating new accounts, that is not allowed. When you are blocked by an administrator then you need to either wait out the block, or make a request on this page to have the block removed with an explanation as to why it should be removed. Usually the best way to have a block removed is to acknowledge that you have done something wrong and to promise not to do so again.

The reason you were initially blocked is because of edit-warring. An "edit war" is when you undo changes to an article over and over again. You have done this at the Peaberry Coffee article many times. It is clear you want to remove information from that article, and that many other editors disagree with you. You must discuss this matter at the talk page of the article. If you can't convince other editors of your reasons for removing the information then the information will stay. Continuing to remove the information without discussion is not allowed and you may eventually find yourself permanently blocked from editing Wikipedia as a result.

To return to the issue of using sock puppets, please read WP:SOCK. Creating new accounts to either evade a block, or to hide your identity is forbidden and you will be eventually caught (as you have this time). Do not do this any longer. You have made every attempt possible to control the content of the Peaberry Coffee article in opposition to every other editor working on that article and you have broken multiple Wikipedia rules. It is not too late to simply talk about this at the article page and you can always explain why you want the information removed, and if you give a good enough reason other editors may allow it. But the way you are trying to remove the information will always fail so please stop what you're doing. If you have any questions, leave a message here on your user talk page (you can still do this while blocked) and I will respond. After your block is done (in a week) you can also leave a message on my talk page if you wish. I'll be available for any advice or to answer any questions you have. Thank you, and I hope that we can work together in the future. -- Atama 16:52, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
