Jat

[edit]

I have removed your last edit on Talk:Jat people. First of all, as I said, do not use an edit request every time you just want to respond to a discussion. That template is only when you are requesting a specific edit, backed by sources, not opposed existing consensus. Second, your "request" contained personal attacks against Sitush (and maybe me). This is not allowed per WP:NPA. But in any event, your comment helped again show that you are not reading Wikipedia policies; you questioned Sitush's statement about Jatland on his talk page...but he's 100% correct, per WP:RS. Jatland is a wiki--anyone can edit it, there is no editorial oversight; it's like Wikipedia without the much stricter policies we have on sourcing and neutrality, and even Wikipedia is never a reliable source. If you want to discuss the article, do it politely (see WP:CIVILITY, which is one of our core policies), provide reliable sources (read WP:RS for what that means), and prepare to work collaboratively. If you don't want to follow these rules, then please return to editing sites like Jatland without our stricter rules. 05:12, 24 February 2013 (UTC)Qwyrxian (talk)

This is your last warning. The next time you make personal attacks on other people, as you did at Talk:Jat people, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. Comment on content, not on fellow editors. -- Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 14:57, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Wikipedia community has permitted administrators to impose discretionary sanctions on any editor who is active on any page about social groups, explicitly including caste associations and political parties, related to India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Nepal. Discretionary sanctions can be used against an editor who repeatedly or seriously fails to adhere to the purpose of Wikipedia, any expected standards of behavior, or any normal editorial process. If you engage in further inappropriate behavior in this area, you may be placed under sanctions, which can include blocks, a revert limitation, or an article ban. The discussion leading to the imposition of these sanctions can be read here.

Please familiarise yourself with the information page at Wikipedia:General sanctions/South Asian social groups.

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:22, 24 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I've done some edits in the intro of the article Jat People, but Sitush have reverted them. He is trying to maintain a kind of status quo in the article by using the "Non Elite Tillers" syntax from some "Dictionary term". Please take part in the consensus and provide your views regarding this.
