[edit]Hi, good to see someone giving it a try! I have been wanting to clean up that monstrosity of an article for a long time but it never climbs up the to-do list! The problem with a lot of these old gambling articles is that they are the end result of a mishmosh of spam attempts over the years. This is why they tend to ramble on and make needless claims. I'll try to help out as time permits.
Good luck! Hazir (talk) 10:56, 17 August 2010 (UTC)
Hello, Jasontrost. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Freeknowledger (talk) 22:55, 8 January 2018 (UTC)
Hi, I take wikipedia rules very serious (i've been a member for 15? years) I don't think I have unduly edited Smarkets. I think you should take down the notice of conflict. Please highlight any edits you deem to be promotional by myself Jasontrost (talk) 23:58, 8 January 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
I noticed your recent edit to Smarkets does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Please remember to use edit summaries on all edits. As you have a COI, please read those links of how to edit, and to WP:DISCLOSE. I see your first edit was on BetUS where you have also not disclosed a COI. Widefox; talk 00:47, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
