WikiCup 2012 August newsletter
The final is upon us! We are down to our final 8. A massive 573 was our lowest qualifying score; this is higher than the 150 points needed last year and the 430 needed in 2010. Even in 2009, when points were acquired for mainspace edit count in addition to audited content, 417 points secured a place. That leaves this year's WikiCup, by one measure at least, our most competitive ever. Our finalists, ordered by round 4 score, are:
- Grapple X (submissions) once again finishes the round in first place, leading Pool B. Grapple X writes articles about television, and especially The X-Files and Millenium, with good articles making up the bulk of the score.
- Miyagawa (submissions) led Pool A this round. Fourth-place finalist last year, Miyagawa writes on a variety of topics, and has reached the final primarily off the back of his massive number of did you knows.
- Ruby2010 (submissions) was second in Pool B. Ruby2010 writes primarily on television and film, and scores primarily from good articles.
- Casliber (submissions) finished third in Pool B. Casliber is something of a WikiCup veteran, having finished sixth in 2011 and fourth in 2010. Casliber writes on the natural sciences, including ornithology, botany and astronomy. Over half of Casliber's points this round were bonus points from the high-importance articles he has worked on.
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions) came second in Pool A. Also writing on biology, especially marine biology, Cwmhiraeth received 390 points for one featured article (Bivalvia) and one good article (pelican), topping up with a large number of did you knows.
- Muboshgu (submissions) was third in Pool A. Muboshgu writes primarily on baseball, and this round saw Muboshgu's first featured article, Derek Jeter, promoted on its fourth attempt at FAC.
- Dana Boomer (submissions) was fourth in Pool A. She writes on a variety of topics, including horses, but this round also saw the high-importance lettuce reach featured article status.
- Sasata (submissions) is another WikiCup veteran, having been a finalist in 2009 and 2010. He writes mostly on mycology.
However, we must also say goodbye to the eight who did not make the final, having fallen at the last hurdle: GreatOrangePumpkin (submissions), Ealdgyth (submissions), Calvin999 (submissions), Piotrus (submissions), Toa Nidhiki05 (submissions), 12george1 (submissions), The Bushranger (submissions) and 1111tomica (submissions). We hope to see you all next year.
On the subject of next year, a discussion has been opened here. Come and have your say about the competition, and how you'd like it to run in the future. This brainstorming will go on for some time before more focused discussions/polls are opened. As ever, if you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Technology report
Hey Jarry :). Apologies if I overreached here; as always, very impressed with how quickly you get the report together! Can I be cheeky and suggest this get covered, in light of the MDI mention? It's our first project, but more importantly it's going to be a pretty big change for people on Vector - although I'm sending out a Watchlist notice early next week, it'd be good to spread the news in multiple venues to spread out the discussion (meaning I can talk to and reply to everyone). Thanks! Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 14:15, 8 September 2012 (UTC)
Signpost update on Lua rollout schedule
Have you seen the update by User:Sumanah to the mw:Lua scripting rollout timetable? Might be worth mentioning in the Signpost Technology report, as I think this is the first time that specific dates have been proposed for production use: "January–March 2013: Full deployment of Lua to the production cluster (contingent upon October assessment)". — Richardguk (talk) 10:43, 10 September 2012 (UTC)
- I've revised the update you made just now, as it seemed to contradict the new milestone dates. However, it may be that you have reason to doubt the milestones, so apologies if you intentionally disregarded the milestones, but it would be helpful to clarify if the dates are no longer proposed. — Richardguk (talk) 20:17, 10 September 2012 (UTC)

Hi Jarry1250. I'm leaving you this message because you have previously been involved as an adopter with Wikipedia's Adopt-a-user program. A clean-up of this program is currently underway, and as part of the process I am trying to find out who is and isn't still interested in remaining an adopter.
If you would prefer not to be part of the adoption program anymore, you need do nothing; when the overhaul of the project is completed your name will be removed from the list of active adopters. However, if you have current adoptees, an active adoption school or an interest in adopting in the near future, then please let us know by signing here.
If you want to remain in the project and can currently take on more adoptees, there is a serious backlog at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user; it would be enormously helpful if you could take on one or two of the users there. Please do keep an eye on the project for upcoming changes, we could use your opinions and your help! Yunshui 雲水 09:05, 19 September 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2012 September newsletter
We're over half way through the final, and so it is less than a month until we know for certain our 2012 WikiCup champion. Grapple X (submissions) currently leads, followed by Sasata (submissions), Cwmhiraeth (submissions) and Casliber (submissions). However, we have no one resembling a breakaway leader, and so the competition is a long way from over. Next month's newsletter will feature a list of our winners (who are not necessarily only the finalists) and keep your eyes open for an article on the WikiCup in a future edition of The Signpost. The leaders are already on a par with last year's winners, but a long way from the huge scores seen in 2010. That said, a repeat of the competition from 2010 seems unlikely.
It is good to see that three-quarters of our finalists have already scored bonus points this round. This shows that, contrary to criticism that the WikiCup has received in the past, the competition does not merely incentivise the writing of trivial articles; instead, our top competitors are still spending their time contributing to high-importance articles, and bringing them to a high standard. This does a great service to the encyclopedia and its readers. Thank you, and good work!
The planning for next year's WikiCup is ongoing. Some straw polls have been opened concerning the scoring, and you can now sign up for next year's competition. Good luck! SVG Check / Wiki SVG rendering
Hi, I just found SVG Check on Toolserver and used it on an SVG I uploaded recently (see blazed_grating.svg). The original version (an Inkscape SVG) didn't render correctly on Wikipedia. Even after converting to plain SVG in Inkscape it didn't work. I realized the problem were font sizes given in percent (Inkscape uses them on sub/superscripts to show them in a size relative to the currently used font). After choosing an absolute font size it finally worked.
The strange thing and reason for my message is, that the original Inkscape SVG renders correctly in both, SVG Check as well as Wiki Commons preview when uploading a new file. The rendering on file pages and when using the image on a localized version of Wikipedia is wrong, though. Do you have an idea why it's rendering correctly in some cases and wrongly in others? You're stating "This image was rendered using rsvg version 2.35.2; as of time of writing, Wikimedia wikis use a slightly different version (2.35.1)." on SVG Check's page (maybe it was actually fixed with this minor version jump) but this still doesn't explain why it works in Commons file preview but not on other pages on Commons or localized Wikis. --Patrick87 (talk) 23:10, 2 October 2012 (UTC)

Hi, I know it's finished, but regarding this edit - I only just worked out why I never saw the notice despite living 8 miles from Oxford - you set the coordinates as 52°N 1°E / 52°N 1°E and 51°N 2°E / 51°N 2°E which are both east of Greenwich - the Radcliffe Science Library is at 51°45′28″N 1°15′21″W / 51.7579°N 1.2559°W - to indicate west of Greenwich you need to negate the longitude. --Redrose64 (talk) 20:36, 26 October 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2012 October newsletter
The 2012 WikiCup has come to a close; congratulations to Cwmhiraeth (submissions), our 2012 champion! Cwmhiraeth joins our exclusive club of previous winners: Dreamafter (2007), jj137 (2008), Durova (2009), Sturmvogel 66 (2010) and Hurricanehink (2011). Our final standings were as follows:
- Cwmhiraeth (submissions)
- Sasata (submissions)
- Grapple X (submissions)
- Casliber (submissions)
- Muboshgu (submissions)
- Miyagawa (submissions)
- Ruby2010 (submissions)
- Dana Boomer (submissions)
Prizes for first, second, third and fourth will be awarded, as will prizes for all those who reached the final eight. Every participant who scored in the competition will receive a ribbon of participation. In addition to the prizes based on placement, the following special prizes will be awarded based on high performance in particular areas of content creation. So that the finalists do not have an undue advantage, the prize is awarded to the competitor who scored the highest in any particular field in a single round.
- The featured article award goes to Grapple X (submissions), for four featured articles in the final round.
- The good article award also goes to Grapple X (submissions), for 19 good articles in the second round.
- The list award goes to Muboshgu (submissions), for three featured lists in the final round.
- The topic award goes to Grapple X (submissions), for three good topics (with around 40 articles) in round 4.
- The did you know award goes to Cwmhiraeth (submissions), for well over 100 DYKs in the final round.
- The news award goes to ThaddeusB (submissions), for 10 in the news items in round 3.
- The picture award goes to Grandiose (submissions), for two featured pictures in round 2.
- The reviewer award goes to both Ruby2010 (submissions) (14 reviews in round 1) and Grandiose (submissions) (14 reviews in round 3).
- Finally, for achieving an incredible bonus point total in the final round, and for bringing the top-importance article frog to featured status, a biostar has been awarded to Cwmhiraeth (submissions).
Awards will be handed out in the coming days; please bear with us! This year's competition also saw fantastic contributions in all rounds, from newer Wikipedians contributing their first good or featured articles, right up to highly experienced Wikipedians chasing high scores and contributing to topics outside of their usual comfort zones. It would be impossible to name all of the participants who have achieved things to be proud of, but well done to all of you, and thanks! Wikipedia has certainly benefited from the work of this year's WikiCup participants.
Next year's WikiCup will begin in January. Currently, discussions and polls are open, and all contributions are welcome. You can also sign up for next year's competition. There will be no further newsletters this year, although brief notes may be sent out in December to remind everyone about the upcoming competition. If you have never been to one, this is an opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in an informal atmosphere for Wiki and non-Wiki related chat and for beer or food if you like. Experienced and new contributors are all welcome. This event is definitely not restricted just to discussion of Berkshire related topics. Bring your laptop if you like and use the free Wifi or just bring yourself. Even better, bring a friend! Click the link for full details. Looking forward to seeing you. Broken SVG Translate
SVG Translate refuses to process this file due to values in the generated regex not being escaped properly (since you are using slashes as pattern delimiters, you have to escape them within the pattern — see this article). This causes a sh..load of warnings and ultimately a failure.
Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier 'H' in /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php on line 286 Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier 'L' in /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php on line 286 Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier 'L' in /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php on line 286 Warning: preg_replace(): Unknown modifier 'L' in /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php on line 286 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php:286) in /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php on line 444 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php:286) in /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php on line 445 Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php:286) in /home/jarry/public_html/svgtranslate/svgtranslate.php on line 446
Also, turning off error message output in production version of an application is highly recommended (the last three warnings are caused just by warning messages being sent before headers) — after all error logs are there for a reason. — Preceding unsigned comment added by U-D13 (talk • contribs) 12:06, 27 November 2012 (UTC)

New syntax highlighter gadget
Hello, I saw that you are the regular editor of the weekly Technology Report and I wanted to make sure you knew about the new syntax highlighter gadget (which I authored). Its addition to the gadgets follows a recent RfC on syntax differentiation in the editing window. Jdforrester of the Wikimedia foundation commented that the forthcoming VisualEditor (due sometime in 2013) will also have a similar feature. Anyway, a mention in the Signpost would be great--I wrote the script so that people could use it :-) —Remember the dot (talk) 04:20, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

Re:Cup scoring changes
Yeah, that'd be great- thanks. With regards to the page size, let's go with this metric; that's what's already used at DYK. 5k of actual prose is required. Inocybe cookei would be just under if promoted to DYK right now, while Inocybe cookei would be just over. I suppose there's also the issue of when the prosesize is calculated, as it will jump up and down. Would it be possible to judge it at the time it goes up on the main page, or would that be difficult? If not, the time it's added to the submission page would be fine. (Also, while I'm here, remember to update the multiplier bonus issue- anything appearing on x number of other Wikipedias as of 31 December 2012 will now be eligible.) J Milburn (talk) 13:25, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- Probably won't come up, but they're eligible for exactly the same treatment as articles- if they're on 5 Wikipedias as of in a few days time, then they are worth an extra 20%. If they're on 50, they're eligible for an extra 200%. J Milburn (talk) 16:10, 23 December 2012 (UTC)
- The 2 points is added after the multiplication; your example would be worth 12 points. I'd rather not have normal DYK points in the bonus column; we could have them as separate columns (long DYK versus short DYK?) but I was imagining them in the same column. Perhaps you could format it so that it said something like "25 (2/1)"- "Points (Longer articles/Shorter articles)". I'm not really sure; I don't want the long DYK points to count as "bonus" points, but, other than that, I'm open to suggestions. J Milburn (talk) 22:51, 24 December 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks very much; I really appreciate the work you do, as the closest I come to coding is using the most simple regexs in AWB... J Milburn (talk) 20:22, 27 December 2012 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 starting soon
Hi there; you're receiving this message because you have previously shown interest in the WikiCup. This is just to remind you that the 2013 WikiCup will be starting on 1 January, and that signups will remain open throughout January. Old and new Wikipedians and WikiCup participants are warmly invited to take part in this year's competition. (Though, as a note to the more experienced participants, there have been a few small rules changes in the last few months.) If you have already signed up, let this be a reminder; you will receive a message with your submissions' page soon. Please direct any questions to the WikiCup talk page. Thanks! Welcome to the 2013 WikiCup!
Hello Jarry1250, and welcome to the 2013 WikiCup! Your submissions' page is here. The competition begins at midnight UTC. The first round will last until the end of February, at which point the top 64 scorers will advance to the second round. We will be in touch at the end of every month, and signups are going to remain open until the end of January; if you know of anyone else who may like to take part, please let them know! A few reminders: *The rules can be found here. There have been a few changes from last year, which are listed on that page. *Anything you submit must have been nominated and promoted in 2013, and you need to have completed significant work upon it in 2013. (The articles you review at good article reviews does not need to have been nominated in 2013, but you do need to have started the review in 2013.) We will be checking. *If you feel that another competitor is breaking the rules or abusing the competition in some way, please let a judge know. Please do not remove entries from the submissions' pages of others yourself. *Don't worry about calculating precisely how many points everything is worth. The bot will do that. The bot may occasionally get something wrong- let a judge know, or post on the WikiCup talk page if that happens. *Please try to be prompt in updating submissions' pages so that they can be double-checked. Overall, however, don't worry, and have fun. It doesn't matter if you make the odd mistake; these things happen. Questions can be asked on the WikiCup talk page. Good luck! Something for the Signpost?
I've been casting around a bit trying to figure out what's the plan for maps and OSM integration. There seems to be some movement on this recently; cf/ Erik's announcement here. However, I can't seem to find anything clearly written out anywhere, though someone must know what's going on!

Wikipedia Ambassadors update
Hi! You're getting this message because you are or have been a Wikipedia Ambassador. A new term is beginning for the United States and Canada Education Programs, and I wanted to give you an update on some important new information if you're interested in continuing your work this term as a Wikipedia Ambassador.
You may have heard a reference to a transition the education program is going through. This is the last term that the Wikimedia Foundation will directly run the U.S. and Canada programs; beginning in June, a proposed thematic organization is likely to take over organizing the program. You can read more about the proposal here.
Another major change in the program will take effect immediately. Beginning this term, a new MediaWiki education extension will replace all course pages and Ambassador lists. (See Wikipedia:Course pages and Help:Education Program extension for more details.) Included in the extension are online volunteer and campus volunteer user rights, which let you create and edit course pages and sign up as an ambassador for a particular course.
If you would like to continue serving as a Wikipedia Ambassador — even if you do not support a class this term — you must create an ambassador profile. If you're no longer interested in being a Wikipedia Ambassador, you don't need to do anything.
- Please do these steps as soon as possible
First, you need the relevant user rights for Online and/or Campus Ambassadors. (If you are an admin, you can grant the rights yourself, for you as well as other ambassadors.) Just post your rights request here, and we'll get you set up as quickly as possible.
Once you've got the ambassador rights, please set up at a Campus and/or Online Ambassador profile. You can do so at:
Going forward, the lists of Ambassadors at Special:CampusAmbassadors and Special:OnlineAmbassadors will be the official roster of who is an active Ambassador. If you would like to be an Ambassador but not ready to serve this term, you can un-check the option in your profile to publicly list it (which will remove your profile from the list).
After that, you can sign on to support courses. The list of courses will be at Special:Courses. (By default, this lists "Current" courses, but you can change the Status filter to "Planned" to see courses for this term that haven't reached their listed start date yet.)
As this is the first term we have used the extension, we know there will be some bugs, and we know the feature set is not as rich as it could be. (A big wave of improvements is already in the pipeline. And if you know MediaWiki and could help with code review, we'd love to have your help!) Please reach out to me (Sage Ross) with any complaints, bug reports, and feature suggestions. The basic features of the extension are documented at Wikipedia:Course pages, and you can see a tutorial for setting up and using them here.
- Communication and keeping up to date
In the past, the Education Program has had a pretty fragmented set of communication channels. We're trying to fix that. These are the recommended places to discuss and stay up-to-date on the education program:
- The education noticeboard has become the main on-wiki location for discussion of the Education Program. You can post there about broad education program issues as well as issues with individual courses.
- The Ambassadors Announce email list is a very low-traffic announcements list of important information all Ambassadors need to be aware of. We encourage all Ambassadors (and other interested Wikipedians) to subscribe to the list; follow the instructions on the link to add your email address.
- If you use IRC regularly, or need to try to reach someone immediately, the #wikipedia-en-ambassadors connect IRC channel is the place to find me and fellow Ambassadors.
- Ambassador training and resources
We now have an online training for Ambassadors, which is intended to be both an orientation about the Wikipedia Ambassador role for newcomers and the manual for how to do the role. (There are parallel trainings for students and for educators as well.)
Please go through the training if you feel like you need a refresher on how a typical class is supposed to go and where the Ambassadors fit in, or if you want to review and help improve it. If there's something you'd like to see added, or other suggestions you have for it, feel free to edit the training and/or leave feedback. A primer on setting up and using course pages is included in the educators' training.
The Resources page of the training is the main place for Ambassador-related resources. If there's something you think is important as a resource that's not on there, please add it.
Finally, whether or not you work with any classes this term, I encourage you to post entries to the Trophy Case whenever you see excellent work from students or if you have great examples from past semesters. And, as always, let students (and other editors!) know when they do things well; a little WikiLove goes a long way!

Hey Jarry. Would you consider adapting the code for your TS tool templatecount so that the sister sites can use it? Alternatively create a side-by-side tool for the WSes, if that is lots easier for the logic. Thanks. — billinghurst sDrewth 05:26, 29 January 2013 (UTC)
Item for "in brief" section of upcoming tech report
Hi Jarry. Wondering if you thought the closing of MediaWiki SVN (wikitech-l, SAL) was worth a mention in the upcoming "In Brief" section of the tech report. ^demon[omg plz] 13:05, 29 January 2013 (UTC)

WikiCup 2013 January newsletter
Signups are now closed; we have our final 127 contestants for this year's competition. 64 contestants will make it to the next round at the end of February, but we're already seeing strong scoring compared to previous years. Sturmvogel_66 (submissions) currently leads, with 358 points. At this stage in 2012, the leader ( Grapple X (submissions)) had 342 points, while in 2011, the leader had 228 points. We also have a large number of scorers when compared with this stage in previous years. 12george1 (submissions) was the first competitor to score this year, as he was last year, with a detailed good article review. Some other firsts:
- 12george1 (submissions) was also the first to score for an article, with the good article Hurricane Gordon (2000). Again, this is a repeat of last year!
- Buggie111 (submissions) was the first to score for a did you know, with Marquis Flowers.
- Spencer (submissions) was the first to score for an in the news, with 2013 Houphouët-Boigny stampede.
- Status (submissions) was the first to score for a featured list, with list of Billboard Social 50 number-one artists.
- Adam Cuerden (submissions) was the first to score for a featured picture, with File:Thure de Thulstrup - L. Prang and Co. - Battle of Gettysburg - Restoration by Adam Cuerden.jpg.
Featured articles, portals and topics, as well as good topics, are yet to feature in the competition.
This year, the bonus points system has been reworked, with bonus points on offer for old articles prepared for did you know, and "multiplier" points reworked to become more linear. For details, please see Wikipedia:WikiCup/Scoring. There have been some teething problems as the bot has worked its way around the new system, but issues should mostly be ironed out- please report any problems to the WikiCup talk page. Here are some participants worthy of note with regards to the bonus points:
- Ed! (submissions) was the first to score bonus points, with Portland-class cruiser, a good article.
- Hawkeye7 (submissions) has the highest overall bonus points, as well as the highest scoring article, thanks to his work on Enrico Fermi, now a good article. The biography of such a significant figure to the history of science warrants nearly five times the normal score.
- HueSatLum (submissions) claimed bonus points for René Vautier and Nicolas de Fer, articles that did not exist on the English Wikipedia at the start of the year; a first for the WikiCup. The articles were eligible for bonus points because of fact they were both covered on a number of other Wikipedias.
Also, a quick mention of The C of E (submissions), who may well have already written the oddest article of the WikiCup this year: did you know that the Fucking mayor objected to Fucking Hell on the grounds that there was no Fucking brewery? The gauntlet has been thrown down; can anyone beat it?
If you are concerned that your nomination—whether it is at good article candidates, a featured process, or anywhere else—will not receive the necessary reviews, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. Questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup, and the judges are reachable on their talk pages or by email. Good luck! Hello, and thanks for tagging this for notability back in 2011. You might want to read over WP:Notability (schools) and WP:NOTABILITY, and add the reasons for your concern on the Talk pg. Alternatively, you may want to take it to the Notability Noticeboard or AfD, although very few high school articles are found non-notable. Best wishes, Boleyn (talk) 18:09, 4 February 2013 (UTC)

I really, really love the voice you bring to the Signpost tech report. You have a knack for getting straight to the important issues, you give just the right amount of context, and you manage to inject personality into every issue without in any way making it a vanity exercise. Thanks so much! You're a huge asset to the Signpost and the community.--ragesoss (talk) 03:06, 6 February 2013 (UTC) |

DYK assistance
I think only one or two of these have been worked on... so you'll probably want to check the history to be sure. In most cases, it is wikilinking, spelling, grammar, organization, checking to make what medal if the source only ways "won a medal" because the Spanish is fun. The sources are primarily newspapers so it might be worth looking to see if other sources are around that have additional background information to make them more interesting. User:LauraHale/Irene Villa is one of the more interesting ones. User:LauraHale/Arnau Ferrer, User:LauraHale/Óscar Espallargas, User:LauraHale/Nathalie Carpanedo, User:LauraHale/Úrsula Pueyo, and User:LauraHale/Gabriel Gorce, are the Spaniards competing at the World Championships. so greater focus on those.
- Move from user space to main space, then DYK ready: User:LauraHale/Arnau Ferrer, User:LauraHale/Irene Villa, User:LauraHale/Jacob Guilera, User:LauraHale/Óscar Espallargas, User:LauraHale/Ramón Homs, User:LauraHale/Nathalie Carpanedo, User:LauraHale/Félix Aznar, User:LauraHale/Raquel Garcia, User:LauraHale/Úrsula Pueyo, User:LauraHale/Andrés Boira, User:LauraHale/Gabriel Gorce, User:LauraHale/Aleix Suñé
- Need history merge/manual copying over to main space, then DYK ready: User:LauraHale/Jon Santacana
Any assistance is massively appreciated. --LauraHale (talk) 14:11, 6 February 2013 (UTC)

A small bot error
Hi; just thought I'd let you know. I'm guessing it's because of the piped link? It's reading what the link says, rather than where it's linking to? Don't worry about it- I'm not here to complain. Just thought you'd like to know! J Milburn (talk) 00:57, 8 February 2013 (UTC)
- Just so you know, the same problem's still coming up. If you'd rather have the link unpiped, which is completely fine, I'll mention it to the user in question. J Milburn (talk) 13:51, 13 February 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 12
Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Irene Villa, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page La Razon (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

DYK for Irene Villa
On 16 February 2013, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Irene Villa, which you created or substantially expanded. The fact was ... that ETA bombing survivor, author and para-alpine skier Irene Villa was a member of the first Spanish women's disability ski club? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Irene Villa. You are welcome to check how many hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, quick check) and it will be added to DYKSTATS if it got over 5,000. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the Did you know? talk page. |

LivingBot's numbering of Signpost issues
Not a major calamity, but it seems that LivingBot is making a mistake when calculating Signpost issue numbers for the 2013 archive - the first issue of the year is numbered 02, and so forth. Regards, HaeB (talk) 07:48, 16 February 2013 (UTC)
