Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Joey Luthman. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Thanks for uploading File:ArielWinterOneMissedCall.ogg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. Fair use rationale for File:Atticabookcover.jpg

File permission problem with File:BryceRobinson.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:BryceRobinson.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. dave pape (talk) 18:47, 2 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:K'Sun-Ray.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:K'Sun-Ray.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 12:03, 9 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Peripitus (Talk) 12:03, 9 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A number of problems

[edit]

Jarrod, I've been going over your work and have come across a number of problems with how you handle images.

  1. You have frequently uploaded or used non-free images without providing a rationale for each use. A rationale is absolutely required by WP:NFCC #10c. For more information on how to construct a fair use rationale, please see WP:FURG. Note that a number of editors will remove non-free images from articles where there is no rationale for the use in that article. Therefore, if you don't add the rationale, the work you are doing in adding images to articles is for naught. Note that rationales are not required for free licenses images.
  2. You have frequently used non-free images in the infoboxes of actors who are still alive. This is not permitted and is a violation of WP:NFCC #1, and is specifically mentioned in the Foundation's resolution on licensing policy. Such images are considered "replaceable fair use" as someone could take a photo of the actor, licenses it under a free license, and upload it here. This is true for as long as the person is alive. There are extremely rare exceptions made to this policy, almost always only in the case of a person who is jailed for life. Actors generally aren't people who are jailed for life. Such images are removed on sight from actor articles, so your addition of them to articles is wasted work. Find free licensed imagery. A case example is File:Quinn Lord.jpg.
  3. It appears you have been uploading images you have found somewhere on the Internet and claiming them to be yours. This is a blatant copyright violation. An example of this is File:Uriah Shelton.jpg (which may be deleted by the time you read this), which you most likely found at either his IMDB profile or from his Facebook profile. Just because you found something on the net, saved it to your computer, and uploaded it here does not mean that rights to the image magically transferred to you, and you can now release it under a free license. This also applies to File:Luke Gair.gif, which you most likely took from this source.
  4. You originally uploaded and tagged File:JesseJamesactor.jpg as {{Non-free currency}}. An image of an actor is not a unit of currency. Furthermore, this image was taken without permission from IMDB again. I've marked this image for deletion.
  5. Quite seriously, it appears that you have made an OTRS claim with ticket #2009102010016099. This ticket was actually used for an upload User:J Milburn made at Commons, which can be seen here. You made this OTRS claim on File:Michael Angarano (cropped).jpg, File:Michael Angarano proffesional image (headshot).jpg and File:Michael Angarano.jpg. All of these images were uploaded more than two weeks after that OTRS ticket was filed, making it blatantly apparent the OTRS ticket has nothing to do with these images. Nevertheless, I'll ask an OTRS member to confirm this and delete the images.
  6. Even more seriously, you created this account after your other account User:Chandler Bonor was blocked for copyright violations (see block log). So you are now quite guilty of creating sock puppet accounts to evade blocks. This blatantly violates our policy at Wikipedia:Sock_puppetry#Inappropriate_uses_of_alternate_accounts. I will be asking for a block of this account, and also filing a request Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations to find any other accounts/IPs in use by you.

You may think you can get away with copyright violations. For a time, you're right. But, it will always catch up with you. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:45, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You may contest this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but please read our guide to appealing blocks first.

It's clear that you used to be User:Chandler Bonor, and you have clearly created this account to avoid scrutiny. If you ever wish to be welcome to edit here again, do not create anymore alternate accounts and make sure you're clear of our policies on copyrights and fair use usage of images. The article Ritchie Campbell has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Character on a TV show without clear notability outside the show and not the title character. Recommend turning into a redirect and keeping old article history, but using PROD process rather than being bold to give people a week to object.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 23:55, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

As you are blocked at the moment, if you object you may email me a reason why the character meets notability requirements. If you do, I will de-prod the article. If I disagree with your assessment, I will do the redirect anyways, and with your permission, paste your comments on the article talk page. When you return we can hold a broader discussion on whether or not to restore the article. It won't hurt anyone to have the article be a redirect for a few weeks while your block expires. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs)/(e-mail) 23:59, 25 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Jarrod K! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 44 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
