Template:Supportvote
[edit]I've deleted Template:Supportvote again since it has been voted on not just once but twice. It's recreation has also been considered a speedy deletion recently so do not create it. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 09:31, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- I myself don't see the big deal with having them; they're actually quite useful and don't take up as much page room as if you actually wrote it all out in script. But that's what I just did. I used AWB and substituted the templates for real words. I figured it would run into trouble sooner or later. I appreciate your telling me, though. --J@red [T]/[+] 12:02, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
- Have you ever thought about bringing it up at Wikipedia:Deletion review? I don't really care either way, but you should be able to bring in a number of people who would want all those voting templates just looking over the old votes. -- Ricky81682 (talk) 23:09, 18 March 2006 (UTC)
Your request for adminship
[edit]It is with regret that I have to inform you that your nomination for adminship was unsuccessful on this occasion. Kep up the good work and I look forward to seeing a nomination with your name on it again in the future. -- Francs2000 02:41, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry you didn't make it, but keep the good work going and I'm sure you'll make it in future! You can also count on a support vote from myself again. - Wezzo (talk) (ubx) 20:41, 25 March 2006 (UTC)
- I am disappointed that you did not become an admin. But you will always have my support and I recommend that you try again after about 2 months. You will definitely succeed in the future! --Siva1979Talk to me 15:48, 26 March 2006 (UTC)

Your sig
[edit]Your sig appears to contain an unpaired div tag. I suggest you not use elaborate markup in your sig; but if you insist on it, please pair up the tags. Thank you. John Reid 04:26, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- You mentioned that my signature contains unpaired tags, but I cannot find any div tags at all. In fact, I can't find any unpiared tags. I give you my permission to go into User:JP06035/signature and fix the problem if you specifically know what it is, or atleast better direct me to the problem. Thanks for your concern! → J@red talk+ ubx 13:10, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Well the sig you show above is not what appeared on my talk page under your RfA thank-you template. That's where the unpaired div showed, causing all following text to align right. I don't see that your current sig has this problem; maybe it's in your private template.
But as long as we're on the subject of sigs: Do you ever look at yours in markup? I count seven full-width edit box lines -- and I have a big monitor. I'm all for expressive sigs, if that's what people like to do; but when I'm inserting a comment in a crowded talk page I sometimes get peeved just trying to sort out editors' sigs from whatever they might have to say. John Reid 13:30, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, OK. I wasn't sure which you were talking about. Thanks though. Regarding my current one, I see where you're coming from; sometimes I, too, find it difficult tosee where comments end and sigs start. I do however like that wikipedia allows users to "express themselves" (to a point) by making their own signature. I may have gone a little overboard, though (I didn't realize it was 7 lines!), so I'll put it on my to-do list to fix it up. ☺ → J@red talk+ ubx 13:38, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
Swimming
[edit]Hello Jared. Commisarations on the RfA, it was a bit early, but it will definitely succeed next time, and I will be supporting of course. I noticed you have fixed up all the confusing links on the FINA and Swimming World Championships. I wonder if you think it would be worthwhile starting up a WikiProject for Swimming at all, because there a few things which need to be organized, and there MAY be a few regulars around who want to also participate in this. (My swimming related edits are also at User:Blnguyen/AusSport as well as my general userpage). Also I have created Portal:Swimming, and I would like some input into this as my understanding of Swimming is rather Australian-centred (wrt Long Course metres events), so feel free to suggest improvements, or simply jump in and add a more global perspective. It's what they are called
[edit]It's no joke. Feel free to split if you want. - Ta bu shi da yu 01:38, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
- Hi, just to back it up - if you went into a vet or pet shop and asked for an elizabethan collar, you would be given a plastic cone! There is a reference in the article. Regards--A Y Arktos 07:11, 27 March 2006 (UTC)
My RfA
[edit]My RfA | ||
Thank you for supporting/opposing/commenting on my request of adminship, sadly the result was 54/20/7 an thus only 73% support votes, resulting in that the nomination failed. As many of you commenting that I have to few main-space edits, I'll try to better my self on that part. If you have any ideas on what kind of articles I could edit, pleas send me a line. :) | →AzaToth

Olympic rings picture
[edit]Well, my reasoning is simple: the one that's on commons (Olympic flag.png) is going to get deleted from Commons. Perhaps what I should do is upload the one from commons as a 3rd image on Wikipedia, and replace both with that one. Anyways, the AWB doing something wrong is my fault. I'll be sure to correct the changes. —MESSEDROCKER (talk) 12:02, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well, the one I was working to replace was on Commons, and it had an inappropriate license so it was deleted. However, the one that is being used is on Wikipedia, so it can still be used. Since t's close enough, we can use it for now. HOWEVER, it would be absolutely fantastic if you can find a better version of the image (SVG, of course) and upload it in place of what we have now. —MESSEDROCKER (talk) 20:39, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
Your input is requested on an AfD
[edit]Hi Jared, User:Medalstats has been pushing his POV again, this time on an article he created. Please refer to Olympic Medal Statistics: Medal Count Winners, which I nominated for AfD. It might be appropriate to put this up for review on the Olympics portal so the members there are aware of it as well.--Kalsermar 16:42, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for your reply. I checked WP:CHECK and went into the archives and apparently it was closed as stale which I presume means his sockpuppets weren't active anymore and/or the controversial edits had stopped.--Kalsermar 20:55, 30 March 2006 (UTC)
FLC on Paris tallest structures
[edit]Hello Jared. I think you should undo those strikeouts, because I'm pretty sure that it is up to the person administering the process to judge whether some objections have become redundant. Regards, Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 02:49, 31 March 2006 (UTC)
- Well someone has already undone them, but it is generally considered aggressive and impolite to pre-empt them replying to your message. Regards,Blnguyen | Have your say!!! 02:54, 31 March 2006 (UTC).
