OK I restored the article. There is still a WP:PROD tag there but you have until the 31 October to take care of that. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 19:51, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
I think I have taken care of it - I went into article, removed PROD code - is that what you meant?
- Yes. Also I just realised that the original creator and yourself are different. Is there any relationship between you before someone starts accusing you of being WP:SOCKPUPPET. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 20:12, 25 October 2011 (UTC)
The original author of the "Jan Millsapps" article, Al Sinerco, is a fellow media professional who felt my accomplishments merited a Wikipedia article.

[edit]Please do not write an article about yourself, as you did at Jan Millsapps. Creating an autobiography is strongly discouraged – see our guideline on writing autobiographies. If you create such an article, it may be deleted. If what you have done in life is genuinely notable and can be verified according to our policy for articles about living people, someone else will probably create an article about you sooner or later (see Wikipedians with articles). Please understand that this is an encyclopedia and not a personal web space or social networking site. If your article has already been deleted, please see: Why was my page deleted?, and if you feel the deletion was an error, please discuss it with the deleting administrator. Thank you. I did not write an article about myself!
The article "Jan Millsapps" was authored by Al Sinerco. He asked me to go in and try to clean it up according to WP guidelines, as he was new to WP.
All I did was go in and add internal links as suggested. I added one photo from WP commons and I added one category.
This does not constitute writing an autobiography. If anything added citations should make the article even more neutral.

- I apologize. I saw that you were the most frequent editor on the page and assumed that you had written most of the content. I have removed the autobiography tag from the article. Pburka (talk) 17:32, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed maintenance templates from Jan Millsapps. When removing maintenance templates, please be sure to either resolve the problem that the template refers to, or give a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry, as your removal of this template has been reverted. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Pburka (talk) 17:22, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I felt my changes resolved the problems.
Janleah 17:27, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- Your changes have not resolved the orphan or references problems. The article is an orphan (no other articles link to it) and it is poorly referenced. Many statements in the article are completely unreferenced, and the references which are present are mostly from unreliable sources (such as press releases from the university). Pburka (talk) 17:32, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
Now someone went in and removed my embedded external links - why? All link to legitimate sources.
Janleah 17:30, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
- See WP:External links. External links should not be used in the body of an article, and the links you added were all unnecessary, as they were included as references already. Pburka (talk) 17:33, 6 November 2011 (UTC)
I see that you've removed the refimprove tag from your article. This wasn't really appropriate, as the article is still mostly unreferenced and the references which are used are mostly unreliable. I have marked a number of places in the article where claims are unsupported by references. I strongly advise you to discuss changes on the talk page. I also recommend against editing an article about yourself unless it is to correct grievous errors. As the subject it's very difficult to maintain a detached perspective. Pburka (talk) 04:22, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
The editing of the article addressed the issue raised - I added more citations. You should be aware, as I have raised this issue previously, that a lot of Jan Millsapps' credits took place before the digital age and therefore cannot be linked.
Everything possible in the article is cited,
- Please read WP:CITE. References do not need to be on-line, but they must be provided. You can reference printed material, just like you would in a scholarly journal. Every claim in the article must be supported by a reference. If, as you say, everything possible has been cited, then everything else ought to be removed as unverifiable. If you have questions about adding references to off-line material, please don't hesitate to ask on my talk page, the article's talk page, or this page. Pburka (talk) 13:52, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
References
[edit]The references you added are all malformed. You added something like this: {{http://somesite.com/some/page}}. References should look like this: <ref>http://somesite.com/some/page</ref>. Pburka (talk) 02:37, 5 February 2014 (UTC)
