New article question

[edit]

Jane, thanks for the message on my talk page. Generally speaking, we strongly discourage editors who are closely connected with a subject from creating or editing articles about that subject, because they have a conflict of interest. However, if you think you can create an article about the festival from a neutral point of view and that you have sufficient references from reliable sources to show that it is notable, you should have a go. I would suggest though that you create the article first in a user subpage so that you can work on it without fear of it being deleted. Let me know if you need help setting one up. Alternatively there is a handy-dandy article creation wizard that can help you create your article in a user subpage. Please do not hesitate to ask if you need help. When you have created your draft, head over to the Requests for feedback page and ask for it to be reviewed, or ask me on my talk page. Hope this helps. – ukexpat (talk) 16:20, 19 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
