I see that you created Draft:Methods (research) and submitted it at WP:AFC. That article is only two paragraphs! Have you noticed that there is already a suitable redirect, Research methods, that points to Research § Research methods? Why don't you say what you think needs to be said about the topic there? I think you should request deletion of Draft:Methods (research) and edit Research § Research methods instead. Biogeographist (talk) 01:29, 30 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Acute radiation syndrome and pollution

[edit]

Regarding the article Acute radiation syndrome (ARS) and the addition of the pollution macro:

Isn't ARS more of a health-thing than an environment thing? Or more specifically, ARS is a syndrome that can be medically diagnosed (etymologically)? In particular, ARS can appear without any pollution to an environment, for example from improper use of radiological sources, as with the Goiânia accident, Therac-25 and the demon core. (Although, the Goiânia accident also caused environmental pollution.) · · · Omnissiahs hierophant (talk) 16:44, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! I would say it is both. The navbox in question had this section already a part of it before I created the sidebar - so good to bring this up. You're right though in terms of this happening for other reasons other than nuclear/ radioactive pollution so have moved the sidebar in the article to a more apt place.
The syndrome can be caused by this type of pollution, so I think it still works on the page, but moved so it is not the immediate thing the reader sees/ confuses them. Jamzze (talk) 16:56, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Cool. Thank you :) The sidebar maybe helps for navigating · · · Omnissiahs hierophant (talk) 16:59, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

A question

[edit]

Hi, Would you mind explaining a little bit on removing the "by region" list in the Socialism sidebar? I think that list is not an eyesore there.--ときさき くるみ not because they are easy, but because they are hard 07:47, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi!
I moved this section to a new "list" part so that it is automatically created when tagged for with the new category that I created. There is a bit of discrepancy between the sidebar infobox and the bottom-page nav box, so just trying to make what can automatically be generated present as much as possible.
Additionally, there are some other lists that would work well for the infobox, but the infobox would get rather long with them, so freeing up some room allows for it to be expanded a bit :D Jamzze (talk) 07:58, 30 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Reliable sources for medical content

[edit]

Hello, Jamzze. Please read WP:MEDRS before continuing your efforts to update Multiple sclerosis. It's a difficult subject, because you can find someone claiming anything you want if you look far enough, which means it's better to be fairly strict with sources. PMID 32761325, for example, probably isn't the best source, because the publisher classified it as an Editorial opinion piece, which usually means that it wasn't peer-reviewed.

Good luck, WhatamIdoing (talk) 04:31, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your comments, that source though was not something I cited. I placed a subheading for biotin to help readers better identify it, but have not produced any writing or citations for it - so I am not sure how that example is applicable to me.

Please do look at the full edit history as, although I may have edited parts with sourcing issues, I have not been the person to add them in.

I will, though, review the sources I have added and edit were possible to ensure their relevance. Jamzze (talk) 05:38, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Please also feel free to remove any questionable sources/content as you come across it. WhatamIdoing (talk) 06:29, 20 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Anarchism

[edit]

Hi Jamzze,

I saw your work on articles related to anarchism and wanted to say hello, as I work in the topic area too. If you haven't already, you might want to watch our noticeboard for Wikipedia's coverage of anarchism, which is a great place to ask questions, collaborate, discuss style/structure precedent, and stay informed about content related to anarchism. Take a look for yourself!

And if you're looking for other juicy places to edit, consider expanding a stub, adopting a cleanup category, or participating in one of our current formal discussions.

Feel free to say hi on my talk page and let me know if these links were helpful (or at least interesting). Hope to see you around. czar 02:10, 12 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, thanks for this! I do love the breadth of work on wiki around anarchism so will try my best to keep some activities up within anarchism :D Jamzze (talk) 18:47, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Anuj Kapilashrami

[edit]

Hello, Jamzze. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Anuj Kapilashrami".

Glossary of sociology moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Glossary of sociology, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. Along with lack of sources, the list is too fragmentary to be useful to readers or remain in mainspace (t · c) buidhe 05:51, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Category "Library and information science journals"

[edit]

Why did you make this category while we already have "Library science journals" with "Information science journals" as a subcat? --Randykitty (talk) 09:55, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Because the journals that are placed within "library and information sciences journals" are interdisciplinary, whilst the journals in "library science" and "information science" are more specifcially focused on each subject respectively. Jamzze (talk) 09:58, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's ridiculous to have these three cats in parallel, you'll need to find a different solution for this. --Randykitty (talk) 10:02, 16 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think these are three need categories that are not in parallel. "Library science journals" covers journals focused on librarianship, "information science journals" covers journals focused on information science, and "library and information journals" covers journals that are interdisciplinary in focus that do not fit in the previous categories alone. WikiProject Anarchism checking in

[edit]

Hey there! I noticed you're on the WikiProject Anarchism members list, but you don't appear to have been very active in this subject area for some time. Just in case you're still interested, here's a little update:

  • In the past couple years, we have brought four articles to Featured status, including the ones on Nestor Makhno, La Salute è in voi, The May Pamphlet and "The Day Before the Revolution". We're likely to get even more to this status in the near future, so stay tuned to the front page for some of our best articles on the platform.
  • A number of our most vital articles have been reviewed and achieved Good Article status, including ones on Gaetano Bresci, Camilo Cienfuegos, Joseph Déjacque, Luigi Galleani, Paul Goodman, and the Kronstadt rebellion. As these "vital articles" are generally considered among the most important on the platform, we aim to get as many as possible to GA and FA status over the coming years.
  • We recently hit the first milestone for our stub-expansion project, getting the number of stubs down to under 1/5th of our total articles. This means that the vast majority of our articles are now relatively substantial, as we expand and add greater detail to the articles that lack sufficient information. We hope to narrow this number down even further, so more articles have the information they deserve.
  • We just started a cleanup drive, in which we are aiming to resolve the problematic parts of our articles, from finding citations for unsourced sections to fixing up formatting errors. In doing this, we intend to make sure our articles provide the best possible reading experience, without unsourced claims or ugly tags littering the page.

If you want to get more involved in the project, please feel free! We always need an extra pair of hands to help out with our ever-growing project. If you want to help out with one of the above efforts, go right ahead. If you want to keep more up to date with the project's activities, consider adding our noticeboard to your watchlist or adding your name to our mailing list. On the other hand, if you think you're time with the project is over, then consider removing your name from the members list, but we do hope you're still interested in our wee project.

All the best to you, whatever your future plans are. Regards, --Grnrchst (talk) 11:22, 13 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:47, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
