“Cell death is the event of a biological cell ceasing to carry out its functions. This may be the result of the natural process of old cells dying and being replaced by new ones, or may result from such factors as disease, localized injury, or the death of the organism of which the cells are part. Cell death includes the subcategories of programmed cell death and necrotic cell death” -> shouldn’t there be an in-text citation here?

“Apoptosis or Type I cell-death, and autophagy or Type II cell-death are both forms of programmed cell death, while necrosis is a non-physiological process that occurs as a result of infection or injury.” -> this whole sentence was under the sub-section of apoptosis, and includes autophagy. Shouldn’t the autophagy be mentioned in its own section?

The field of study and etymology is not finished. Entymology is typed wrongly here. It should be “etymology” instead of “entymology”.

“Programmed cell death 1” – can you give a short summary of this protein in relations to the topic you’re writing about?

I’m most concerned with your references and in-text citations. I need to see research papers that would back up your claims and how you paraphrase your statements so they would not be considered plagiarism.

- Citations are needed for each statement.

- The lead section under “Cell Death” is good and it summarizes most major points, but missing the field/etymology.

- Entomology vs. Etymology. I believe that “entymology” is a typo here and it should be etymology which is the study of words.

- The headings and subheadings are well used to give a clearer structure.

- Visual approaches are highly recommended. For example, a figure showing the general signaling pathways involved in the programmed cell death/necrotic cell death with different factors (like light, chemotherapy, and etc) could be included.

- More careful revision/rewrite is expected. Under the subsection of Apoptosis, “Apoptosis or Type I cell-death, and autophagy or Type II cell-death are both forms of programmed cell death, while necrosis is…” seems to be the one in the lead section.

- Tone is good.

- Under the section of “Field of study and etymology”, since flow cytometry is mentioned, other methods or mechanism-based assays to detect apoptotic cell death might be included. StudentQ (talk) 23:57, 1 April 2019 (UTC)
