George Mason Memorial
[edit]hi, love the pictures. however, given its a sculpture after 1923, there are copyright issues. please review wp:copyright, and Korean War Veterans Memorial#United States postage stamp court case. if some one comes along to challenge, we can always upload to english wikipedia as a "fair use" image, but we might be limited to the number of "fair use" images in an article. see Wikipedia:Non-free#Images.... - Wow... I did not know that. I am not sure how to mark it is as "fair use" What do you suggest I do? Edit the license of my picture? Thanks for your patience and information. Jamieadams99 (talk) 18:30, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
- Would I just be better off making those photos "public domain"? This stuff is new to me Jamieadams99 (talk) 18:36, 11 November 2011 (UTC)
- well your released your picture into the public domain with your cc-sharealike license. however, we do not have Freedom of panorama in the US, and the sculptor retains rights on images of her work. you could upload again to english wikipedia, for example as was done here: [1]; [2] (note the license and its being on en:wikipedia) -- or go though the wp:otrs permissions process. here is the artists website.
