[edit]Your username is the only reason for this block. You are welcome to choose a new username (see below) and continue editing.
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. ···日本穣 · 投稿 · Talk to Nihonjoe · Join WP Japan! 07:30, 15 April 2017 (UTC)

Decline reason:
{unblock|Are you serious? This is obvious that we are not Marjan Davari. She is has been sentenced to death and currently is being tortured in a medieval prison in Iran and you are arguing with me just about a username? are you guys alright? You blocked the account and I've lost the whole page that I was writing about her and her situation. Please unblock the account and choose a name that suits your stupid policies. this is absolutely non-sense.}
- I'm sorry about this person's situation, but Wikipedia is not for telling the world about good causes. Calling policies "stupid" won't help your cause. The policies exist for a reason; as you were told, using the person's name as your username would be considered misleading as you are not that person. If you want the name of your organization/campaign in your username, you can format it as "YourName of FreeMarjanCampaign" or something like it(you don't have to use your real name). 331dot (talk) 10:54, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
- I would add that not every comment needs to be formatted as an unblock request. 331dot (talk) 10:55, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
- I feel your frustration, and I just want to add that nobody here is trying to harm your campaign in any way - in fact, I suspect the great majority of Wikipedia contributors would support it. But I can't help thinking you perhaps don't really understand what Wikipedia is? It's not something like Facebook, where use for public campaigns is very much appropriate. In fact, it's not a social media site at all. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, and not a forum for trying to right great wrongs. An encyclopedia article about Marjan Davari might be appropriate, but it would have to be an article at that title, not here on your talk page, supported by sufficient reliable sources to support Wikipedia's notability requirements (click those blue links for further explanations), and it would have to be written as a straight factual article without any campaigning. The text you had on your talk page was completely unsourced, and so would not be acceptable as it stands. If you believe you can create an article in line in line with those requirements, I'll be happy to
unblock you andrestore the deleted text to a subpage here for you to work on, and then once it is properly referenced with reliable sources, it can be moved to article space (but it would not be allowed to remain in your user space over the longer term). Though please do bear in mind that anyone who believed the article did not satisfy Wikipedia's inclusion standards would be allowed to nominate it for deletion, and then it would go to a discussion at WP:AfD. - Actually, having reviewed the reason for your block (which was only the username), I have unblocked your account. My offer to restore the deleted text to a subpage, say User:JamesWeinberg1980/Marjan Davari for you to work on still stands. Boing! said Zebedee (talk) 12:02, 15 April 2017 (UTC)
- I've restored the text at User:JamesWeinberg1980/Marjan Davari. I suggest what you need to do now is use those sources you identified to make sure it's a properly-sourced article, and I think it would help if you could find some sources that also document here professional life as well as just her arrest. [edit]Thanks for creating Marjan Davari, JamesWeinberg1980!
Wikipedia editor Gaioa just reviewed your page, and wrote this note for you:
Indeed notable person being "political prisoner". Needs serious condensing and un-detailing though.
