It is highly recommended that if you seek to challenge a close, especially of your own proposal per WP:INVOLVED, you should communicate with the closers or members of the community per WP:CLOSECHALLENGE, especially when consensus seemed pretty clear. Additionally DO NOT edit other people's comments, especially editing them to imply that they've stated something that they haven't, as you did to @Twistedaxe. - Knightoftheswords281 (Talk · Contribs) 13:53, 21 May 2023 (UTC)
Trouted
Whack! You've been whacked with a wet trout. Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly. |

Here is the source - please can you put my edits back in? Rather than just remove without discussing first? 89.206.168.12 (talk) 12:22, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
- I will not be putting your edit back to the page. First of all because there is no statement on the website of the book "Thrive", and second, because official websites generally shouldn't be used as sources in biographies of living people. You should've also sourced your edit from the beginning, instead of getting your edit reverted then having to discuss it. // 🌶️Jalapeño🌶️ Don't click this link! 12:28, 22 May 2023 (UTC)
Drive reviews
Hi Jalapeno -- thanks for your enthusiasm to participate in the drive. I have some concerns about your reviews, though:
- The class that an article is rated at when it goes to GAN doesn't have anything to do with whether it passes GAN or not. People regularly rewrite articles from a Start or C state to a GA-passing state without changing the rating until it passes GAN.
- Lead sections do not require sources, nor do plot sections.
- It's not clear much of the time what you mean by "primary sources" (the books in the album article definitely mostly aren't), or by "exceptional sources" -- what claims specifically do you think are so exceptional that a subject-matter expert or a book can't back them up?
- Similarly, if reviewing on a subject where many subject-matter experts are self-published, it's worthwhile being familiar with the SMEs on that subject -- this is common for niches like local area transport.
- Sources don't need to be free or online to be reliable.
I've marked your reviews as ineligible for points, due to these issues. It might be a good idea to ask an experienced GA reviewer for help with future reviews; learning how to review is a learning curve just like learning how to write, and many people face some issues at first while getting a hang of the process. - Thank you for letting me know about the concerns.
- I'm very sorry for making those mistakes, since I have no experience in this field. Thank you for the advice as well, I'll be asking more experienced reviewers for help if I do any future reviews.
- I've read the concerns; I can see how I didn't really do a great job on these reviews, and, of course, I will be using this as advice to improve my reviews. 🌶️Jalapeño🌶️ Don't click this link! 23:22, 12 August 2023 (UTC)
