Notability of Jake pitts
[edit]Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Jake pitts, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Jake pitts seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Jake pitts, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. Speedy deletion nomination of Jake pitts
[edit]A tag has been placed on Jake pitts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. It appears you may have a conflict of interest and a misleading user name
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I saw that you edited or created Jake Pitts, and I noticed that the username you have chosen, "Jakepitts", seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of something other than yourself. Please note that you may not edit on behalf of a company, group, institution, product, or website which relates to the entity in question, and Wikipedia does not allow usernames that are promotional or accounts that are shared. If you are willing to use a personal account, please take a moment to create a new account or request a username change that represents only yourself as an individual. You should also read our Conflict of interest guideline and Plain and simple conflict of interest guide, and remember that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Thank you.
If you ARE Mr. Pitts, you do not need to change your username. After all, it is your name. BUT you must read and follow the Conflict of Interest guide above. Neither you nor anyone acting at your behest or anyone connected to you personally or professionally should be editing this article except as outlined in the Conflict of Interest guideline.
If you are NOT Mr. Pitts but you do have some personal or professional connection to him, you must request a change of username before making further edits to Wikipedia articles. Furthermore, you must read and follow the Conflict of Interest guideline and avoid editing the Jake Pitts article except as outlined in that guideline.
If (and ONLY if) you have no connection whatsoever with this person other than perhaps being as a fan and customer, you should request a username change and, after the change goes into effect, remove the following line from Talk:James Pitts:
{{connected contributor|Jamespitts}}
When you remove the line, use an edit summary that clearly indicates that you have no connection with this person, such as "Changed username, I'm just a fan, I have no professional or personal connection with this musician. See my talk page" or something similar.
In the very unlikely case that your real name is James Pitts but you are not this James Pitts, I strongly recommend you change your username as keeping it will, unfortunately, cause great confusion. If you do not want to change your username, please add a disclaimer to the top of both your user page and your user talk page saying that you share the same name with this artist but you are not him. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 21:18, 20 January 2014 (UTC)

[edit]If you are the person represented by this username, please note that the practice of blocking such usernames is to protect you from being impersonated, not to discourage you from editing Wikipedia. You may choose to edit under a new username (see information below), but keep in mind that you are welcome to continue to edit under this username. If you choose to do so, we ask the following:
- Please be willing and able to prove your identity to Wikipedia.
- Please send an email to info-enwikimedia.org. Be aware that the volunteer response team that handles email is indeed operated entirely by volunteers, and the reply may not be immediate.
If you are not the person represented by this username, you are welcome to choose a new username (see below).
A username should not be promotional, related to a "real-world" group or organization, misleading, offensive, or disruptive. Also, usernames may not end in the word "bot" unless the account is an approved bot account.
You are encouraged to choose a new account name that meets our policy guidelines and create the account yourself. Alternatively, if you have already made edits and you wish to keep your existing contributions under a new name, then you may request a change in username by:
- Adding
{{unblock-un|your new username here}}
on your user talk page. You should be able to do this even though you are blocked, as you can usually still edit your own talk page. If not, you may wish to contact the blocking administrator by clicking on "Email this user" on their talk page. - At an administrator's discretion, you may be unblocked for 24 hours to file a request.
- Please note that you may only request a name that is not already in use, so please check here for a listing of already taken names. The account is created upon acceptance, thus do not try to create the new account before making the request for a name change. For more information, please see Wikipedia:Changing username.
- Adding
{{unblock|Your reason here}}
on your user talk page, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first. Yunshui 雲水 07:16, 27 October 2017 (UTC)
