Thanks for uploading the seed for the article. Note that I had to radically reverse the statements of the original text. It said that Krick "many times had to break bad news to General Dwight D. Eisenhower, as the invasion was put off several times due to inclimate weather"; in fact, sources say quite the opposite. Krick was strongly against D-day delays, and had to be subdued by superior officers who upheld Petterssen's proposal to move it by one day. Also, as an Air Force man he was not in direct contact with Eisenhower; there were two layers of command (Yates, Spragg) between Krick and the decision-makers. Had Krick's viewpoint prevailed, the Allies would suffer unnecessary losses on June 5. NVO (talk) 21:24, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

Hi. Earlier today you reverted an edit by IP 50.110.179.255 and left a warning template on their talk page. I've reviewed their edit and it was a positive contribution that fixed a grammatical error. I know that there is a temptation when vandal fighting to make immediate corrections, but it is important to tale a little time to read the edit in context, so useful work isn't lost. We also want to avoid driving useful editors away with incorrect warnings.
As this was a false positive, can you please revert your warning message on their talk page? Thanks. From Hill To Shore (talk) 07:56, 26 February 2020 (UTC)
- From Hill To Shore, Thanks for the heads up! Nice catch, I've reverted my warning. Jake (talk) 08:18, 28 February 2020 (UTC)
Rollback granted
[edit]Hi Jake12195. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:
- Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
- Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
- Rollback should never be used to edit war.
- If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
- Use common sense.
If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! – Juliancolton | Talk 03:52, 26 March 2020 (UTC)
- Juliancolton, Thanks, much appreciated! Jake (talk) 04:57, 28 March 2020 (UTC)

DYK for Mohsen Shaalan
[edit]On 9 May 2020, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Mohsen Shaalan, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Egypt's Deputy Minister of Culture Mohsen Shaalan was imprisoned for a year in connection with the unsolved theft of van Gogh's Poppy Flowers? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Mohsen Shaalan. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Mohsen Shaalan), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
