Categories

Hi Jaellee, may I wish you, although somewhat belated very happy and successful new year 2012! Thank you so much for all your hard wiki-work in the field of footballers in Germany. As you can see, in December I created two new subcategories for footballers in Germany (Category:2. Fußball-Bundesliga players and Category:3. Fußball-Liga players) to complement Category:Fußball-Bundesliga players. Seeing as there are not just top-level league (sub-)categories at Category:Association football players by competition, I took it upon myself to create the others, seeing as they are indeed professional leagues too. You're doing a great job in formatting the footballers' articles, so I just wanted to politely request that, whilst doing this, you could categorise those players into the two new categories too. So far, I've only made a slow, steady start. According to de:Wikipedia:Positivlisten/Spieler der deutschen 2. Fußball-Bundesliga and de:Wikipedia:Positivlisten/Spieler der deutschen 3. Fußball-Liga, there are still over 7,600 and 1,200 players respectively outstanding, although a number of which will of course overlap. Maybe between the two of us, we could get through a fair bit as well as create new articles over the coming months. I'd really appreciate your help, buddy! Best wishes over to Regensburg from Marburg! Jared Preston (talk) 16:04, 11 January 2012 (UTC)

Cup Icons

Hi, Jaellee the discussion is from 2008 with about 4 comments. Their has been no complaint about trophy icons since that discussion in 2008. Their are many articles who do not have the image of the completions trophy except for the Champions League and UEFA Cup trophies which images of them are easily accessible. The reason why the icons were uploaded and are on Wikipedia is because for the purpose of easily identifying and knowing what the trophy looks like, as I said above that not every Wikipedia cup tournament has its trophy easily displayed for viewing except for the Champions League and UEFA Cup trophies. Just please take sometime to think about it and research the point I have made. - MarkMysoe (talk) 18:34, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi there again, Jaellee I was just wondering would it be possible for you to stop and bring to a halt the removing of the "Trophy Icons" until a few people or anyone answers back with feedback of the topic from Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football ???. - MarkMysoe (talk) 18:50, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Ok Jaellee that's alright, but I do hope you keep your promise to revert should consensus support my opinion, because believe me it is not easy to find the images or to find out how many of the other trophies look like unless they are well known European trophies such as the Champions League and UEFA Cup trophies. - MarkMysoe (talk) 18:59, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Fussballdaten template

Hi there, the {{fussballdaten}} exists for a reason and we should try to use it wherever possible. Thanks, GiantSnowman 19:35, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Personally I wouldn't... GiantSnowman 19:41, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Miroslav Klose

Hi Jaellee, thanks for fixing the image at Miroslav Klose. However, I'm 99% sure "file:Klose111.png" is a copyright violation. After doing a quick google pics search, I couldn't find the original, but take a look at the uploader's talk page on commons and make your own decision... Jared Preston (talk) 23:22, 1 March 2012 (UTC)

Alas! The file is a copyvio. Found here © Reuters. Tagged as such. Have a nice weekend! Jared Preston (talk) 06:37, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Is it possible that you can check source #26 in Deutschland sucht den Superstar and see if I accurately translated the information in DSDS Kids? Thanks. Kingjeff (talk) 23:38, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Copa Argentina = Professional ?

Okay so don't deny it seriously we all know you are regarded as one of the highest wikipedians, I even turn to your edits to see if I have contributed correctly, obviously I will not always go by what declare, respectively, which is something that you have previously stated to me (to NOT succeed just one wikipedian in order to avoid conflicts or in-equality amongst users). Now, my concern: List of professional sports leagues - I know for a fact, along with its prived evidence, that the Primera División, B Nacional and B Metropolitana of Argentina ARE professional... but the Copa Argentina (obviously being equivalent to the FA Cup), what if a player from the D Metropolitana plays one game in the Copa Argentina, does that make him professional instantly? Despite having played a lot of games in a non-professional league (D-Metro), respectively, would you class it as notable? It is a professional tournament due to being a national tournament... but...? (talk)16:20, 26 March 2012 (AEST)

Huntelaar

Your argument makes no sense, why would we include any goals then? And obviously not every goal has been counted on his page for this season. I have been updating his page all year and I'd prefer it if you did not "fix" it. Wikipedia's goal is to make pages as accurate as they can be and you are not helping. Furthermore if you actually looked at the links instead of randomly deleting TWO lines you would see how they are important. Thank you. Rupert1904 (talk) 15:00, 29 March 2012 (UTC)

I don't know what this guy's problem was, but I have reverted and warned him for this. Have a nice weekend mate. Jared Preston (talk) 05:15, 16 March 2012 (UTC)

jupp heynckes

why you reverse my change on the 600th game of heynckes as a coach that´s a big milestone only one coach has more games then him?--Nakurio (talk) 20:23, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

oh ok i though the bayern munich site would make sure that comes out on german they did make a huge thing out of it and it is, so you reverse the change?--Nakurio (talk) 20:43, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

thanks and have a nice day--Nakurio (talk) 20:44, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Hi there JAELLEE, VASCO here,

i find it very hard to leave just like that, so i'm still doing the occasional edit. Doing so, i found out that this "user"'s anon IP (see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Contributions/177.0.204.119) has returned to active after a three-month block, and you have already warned him (not one day before he started "contributing" again, incredible some people!).

I have already warned User:Fastily, who blocked the anon IP, they are wikiabsent for nearly one month now. I have also briefed User:Thumperward, who blocked the account, he has told me he does not feel comfortable with blocks. Please Jaellee, talk to some admin you know or bring it again at WP:FOOTY (i'm through with that until i return fully - IF i do! - this individual must not get the best in this situation (what we are looking for here is a bigger block to the anon IP, or even a further three months, the BRUNO account is already blocked indef).

Happy week, regards - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 22:45, 16 April 2012 (UTC)

Dear Jaellee

Considering you are the person who wrote This is your last warning to User 118.97.95.54 I would like to inform you that this user continues to vandalize Wikipedia. The users last entry that I know of was on 10:43, 17 April 2012‎ on Guangzhou Evergrande F.C. which I have since undid.

Yours sincerely User talk:Kai Lau 17 April 2012‎ (UTC)

1972-73 German League Cup

Do you know where I can find the 1972-73 German League Cup match reports or statistics? Kingjeff (talk) 00:37, 25 April 2012 (UTC)

Indonesian vandal

Hi there JAELLEE, VASCO here,

regarding this (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:111.68.125.18#April_2012) i see that you have already warned (again!) this "user", he will not care, what he needs is a bigger block (already a three-month), or at least the same. I tried to warn User:Nuclear Warfare, who punished him the first time, but it seems he's been absent for more than one month now (retired or "semi" maybe?). Can you please talk to some admin about this?

Attentively, happy week - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:06, 30 April 2012 (UTC)

Lukas Podoldki/User:Nimicitor

He believes that Podoldki is already an Arsenal player. The user's talk page says "fuck off". He is also recently coming off of a block and might be a problem user. So, it might be good to watch his activities. Kingjeff (talk) 18:26, 16 May 2012 (UTC)

Hi there JAELLEE, VASCO here (don't worry, i'm not going to ask for any favours, keeping my promise),

about this message sent to this user (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Rupert1904#Huntelaar), quite troublesome to say the least. I sent him a message last year or so about his writing style (play-by-play commentary almost!), i think regarding Lisandro López's article, he said he understood and would try to improve (he also has the custom of writing stuff that belongs in the teams' articles in the individual player instead).

I see he has not, and also see he did not have the courtesy to reply to your message. Really don't know what can be done as it's not a vandal. Attentively, keep up the good work - --Vasco Amaral (talk) 19:53, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

  • Ah sorry, did not notice that bit (you say he did answer you just not in the correct place, don't want to accuse anyone wrongfully). Can you tell me in summary what did he reply please? --Vasco Amaral (talk) 20:54, 22 May 2012 (UTC)

Austrian clubs

Are you able to help out with the transfers for the 2012–13 FC Red Bull Salzburg season, 2012–13 FK Austria Wien season and 2012–13 SK Rapid Wien season articles? Please and thanks. here is a good link for it. Kingjeff (talk) 05:58, 25 May 2012 (UTC)

1998–99 FC Bayern Munich season

I've started the 1998–99 FC Bayern Munich season. Would you be aboe to help? Kingjeff (talk) 04:12, 28 May 2012 (UTC)

I noticed you and I both made the same exact edit within a matter of seconds on two occasions. Great minds and all that. --Mosmof (talk) 17:02, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, it's weird - I use Twinkle and it normally stops executing when there's a conflicting edit. Oh well. --Mosmof (talk) 22:29, 30 May 2012 (UTC)

You added Bayern Munich II back to the infobox under the justification of "Bayern Munich II was at that time playing in a fully professional league." While I do not disagree with that and understand the point you are making .. but he was still a Bayern Munich player and not actually loaned out or transferred to Bayern Munich, and as such I don't think it should be included in the infobox. In my opinion, these types of situations are much better suited to the body of the article (especially the stats table), saying for example that he played two games with the reserves to gain fitness (or whatever the case may be). I just think that having Bayern II in infobox gives the wrong impression and implies that he left Bayern's senior team to go play with the reserve team, which is not true. Plenty of well known first team regulars play games here and there with the reserve team, most notably after an injury, but you will never see that included in the infobox, even if the reserve team is professional. TonyStarks (talk) 18:35, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Yes, if the player in question plays solely for the reserve team, then it should definitely be listed in their infobox. I'm talking specifically about cases like Toni, a first team player who plays a game or two with the reservers for whatever reason (returning from injury, punishment, etc.), and in those cases, I personally feel it shouldn't be listed. I've asked that question at WP:FOOTY before but didn't get a consensus, just one response for and one response. So, feel free to go ahead and start the discussion again, maybe we can get more of a response. TonyStarks (talk) 23:47, 3 June 2012 (UTC)

Julio Santa Cruz

Jaellee, could you please help me? Julio Santa Cruz cannot be created because the page was repeatedly created when it did not meet the notability and athlete criteria and therefore resulted into temporary disablement. Now, the page has met the crieteria and, I had taken the privelidge of creating it under the following name: Julio Eduardo Santa Cruz. Do you know how to move it to Julio Santa Cruz? Is this within your capacity as a long-time Wikipedian? Regards! User:181hamburgerwcheese (talk) 21:06, 8 July 2012

2011–12 Manchester United F.C. season peer review

Since you have experience in writing club season articles, would you care to add to Wikipedia:Peer review/2011–12 Manchester United F.C. season/archive1? Kingjeff (talk) 05:08, 12 July 2012 (UTC)

Starting 11 in club season articles.

There is a discussion on the starting 11 section on the talk page of Wikiproject Football. Kingjeff (talk) 18:11, 20 July 2012 (UTC)

Thanks!

Hi there JAELLEE, hope all is fine,

after seeing edits like this (please see here http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=S%C3%A9rgio_Oliveira&diff=503461508&oldid=501637635), it's obvious this "user" (almost sure it's a countryman of mine with his name and his edits of choice) is a no good vandal! Thanks for being on top of this.

Happy weekend, alles gut --AL (talk) 13:26, 4 August 2012 (UTC)

What is Vandalism

Hi, Montpellier HSC is commonly known as Montpellier to English speakers. Please refer to http://www.arsenal.com/match-menu/3553311/first-team/montpellier-v-arsenal?tab=report All I did was just making it simpler and easier for people to read the Lukas Podolski Article. I do not understand why it is vandalism. --Miunouta (talk) 16:05, 21 September 2012 (UTC)

Mario Götze‎

Borussia Dortmund and UEFA have two different heights. Which one do you think is correct? I have a feeling Borussia Dortmund's number is correct. Kingjeff (talk) 18:12, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

I absolutely agree. 1.76 M sounds like the correct one and UEFA's is only a typo. Kingjeff (talk) 20:45, 8 October 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Peer review/FC Bayern Munich/archive1

I put in for a peer review for Bayern Munich. You might want to look at it. Kingjeff (talk) 04:29, 9 October 2012 (UTC)

Category:Fußball-Bundesliga players

What is the standard for adding the category? If the standard is just being in the squad, then adding it is justified. Kingjeff (talk) 22:08, 10 October 2012 (UTC)

Allianz Arena

Isn't Allianz Arena in Fröttmaning and not Schwabing-Freimann? Kingjeff (talk) 19:07, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Demba Ba

I think you were incorrect in reverting the IP here. As West Ham were relegated in 2010–11 season, also he wasn't the leading goalscoring Cole was, he was their leading goalscorer in the league. So the sentence should really say: He played only 12 games for West Ham and despite being their league top goal scorer for 2010–11 season, they were relegated to the Championship and Ba moved to Newcastle United. I'll let you make the changes you feel appropriate & if you feel differently then feel free to message me. ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 21:56, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

No problem, the article certainly does attract the vandals. Regards ★☆ DUCKISJAMMMY☆★ 22:42, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

Hi there JAELLE, AL "here",

can you please help me here. One anon IP (and dynamic to make it even more difficult) has removed many many times (more than 10 i would say) the EURO currenty wikilink, without one word, this is getting really annoying. It seems that's all this person lives for in WP, really...

Many thanks in advance, have a cool Saturday --AL (talk) 22:22, 1 December 2012 (UTC)
