You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for violating the non-free content policy, as you did at 2020–21 UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team.

Request reason:

I replaced the image associated with the 2020-21 UNCG Spartans Men's Basketball Team with an imagine that was copyrighted. Because the image was on the wikimedia servers before, I assumed it was ok to use and undid the removal by the edit bot. An administrator explained to me why this was inappropriate and I understand and agreed not to use the image in question again. For my part, it was a misunderstanding of what specifically constitutes public domain and, especially, the "threshold of originality". I did not understand why the script logo was not copyrighted while the image logo was. I have done more research on the wikimedia site to determine precisely where that line is drawn and I have a better understanding now. I would like to request that my permission to edit be reinstated.

What is copywright? Copyright is intellectual property that cannot be used with explicit permission to do by the creator or the rights holder How is Wikipedia licenced? Under creative commons attribution. Why is copyrighted content not allowed on Wikipedia? Because wikipedia is subject to US copyright law. Under what circumstances can we use copyrighted content? With explicit permission from the rights holder, linked in the article How do you intend to avoid violating the copyright policy in the future? I will be more aware of what media on the wikipedia servers is copyrighted and, probably, will just not mess with images anymore. JaegerN8 (talk) 19:18, 20 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@JJMC89: - how do you feel about an unblock? PhilKnight (talk) 06:48, 21 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, 2021–22 UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. ... discospinster talk 22:40, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2021–22 UNC Greensboro Spartans men's basketball team, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Cameron Hall. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Using the "minor" edit buttin

[edit]

Information icon Hi JaegerN8! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. SportsGuy789 (talk) 06:06, 16 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry about that. I get used to using it for typos and whatnot. I'll be more aware. JaegerN8 (talk) 14:01, 22 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
