Information icon Hello, I'm Super48paul. I wanted to let you know that I undid one or more of your recent contributions to Suidlanders because it did not appear constructive. People will listen to you! Good luck. Super48paul (talk) 09:31, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Jacko,

In your most recent edit to Suidlanders, you wondered "what happened to your article". Since I was primarily responsible for the changes to your article, permit me to explain:

Your article cited two reliable sources that described the Suidlanders group and their activities. Both articles mentioned Muller as the group's leader. Those verifiable facts have been retained. However, your extensive biography of Muller was entirely unsourced, and Wikipedia has a policy that forbids unsourced biographies. The section on "Their Vision" was sourced entirely to the organization's own website, which is not a valid secondary source. The section appeared to be an attempt to use Wikipedia as a soapbox from which to promote the organization's views, which is also disallowed. In the end, we are left with the brief lead paragraph that appears to summarize the available sources. If you can find other reliable sources with which to expand the article, please feel free to do so. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:42, 8 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Jacko1988. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Suidlanders, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the COI guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. {{u|waddie96}} {talk} 17:08, 20 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]
