Season's Greetings

Season's greetings

and best wishes for 2012!
Thanks for all you do here, Ruhrfisch ><>°° 23:48, 24 December 2011 (UTC)

You meant...

At User_talk:Antony1821 you said, " You still seem to grasp that what you did was illegal.". You meant " You still don't seem to grasp that what you did was illegal.". Perhaps obvious, but dealing with a stressed kid not in native language, maybe you could correct it.--SPhilbrick(Talk) 04:00, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

You're right, I did mean that, but at this point it doesn't really matter, they've lost their talk page access. Not a surprise really, cruel as it may sound, a certain level of competence is required--Jac16888 Talk 12:01, 25 December 2011 (UTC)

You are tagging articles at a very fast rate, and you have made several mistakes out of the few that I have checked. Can I suggest that you please slow down and familiarise yourself with the guidelines better before jumping into new page patrolling--Jac16888 Talk 17:46, 26 December 2011 (UTC)
For example you just tagged it with {{BLP sources}} and yet the person died 700 years ago. "BLP" means "biography of living person"--Jac16888 Talk 17:50, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Good call on removing that unreferenced section. I was torn between keeping it (it's interesting, it just needed a little rewording and sourcing) and removing it myself. Paris1127 (talk) 19:31, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

If you can find some sources for it, then feel free to restore it (or maybe rewrite it properly), although the complete lack of sources suggested that it might just have been made up--Jac16888 Talk 20:16, 26 December 2011 (UTC)

Gads Hill train robbery

Its always according to whose telling the history... It must have been a Northerner that wrote this article Because we have a whole different interpretation of his acts. Maybe I have a whole lot to add to this page or I think I need to make another page. My family who had no slaves were shot, killed burned out and mistreated by the Federals, my Grandma has told me stories when I was young about what her grandmother told her. I guess for all the rich history of Missouri, they would rather not talk about it or put the facts out there. Anyway I'll give it some thought and thank you for your response, I have lot to learn about this great thing and I've donated money to the cause, freedom of information Weki. C.K.Nagaraja Rao‎

Hi, I see you removed the translate template from the C.K.Nagaraja Rao‎. Do you know a better way to ask for an english translation of the title with the foreign title name? Thanks!--CaroleHenson (talk) 00:21, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Really its not something that very easy to do. It's like translating a name, you might a literal translation if you're lucky but the meaning is lost. The best way to find a english title would be if the book was released in under different language titles--Jac16888 Talk 00:28, 29 December 2011 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll try that - I didn't easily find them yesterday but I'll poke around a bit, and if I cannot find anything I'll just leave it as-is. Much appreciated!--CaroleHenson (talk) 00:41, 29 December 2011 (UTC)

Please see Talk:Gaomin Temple. The user that set up this article has set up several articles in English with Chinese bare links - and often very poorly written (because of the language difference, although good they got as far as they did) so that I've had to rewrite and rereference the entire article (example: Ant tribe). Jehovah's Witnesses Beliefs

Why would you just remove the tags from the page without discussion?

I removed the speedy tag because it is not an attack page, and I removed the tags because they do not belong on the talk page — Preceding unsigned comment added by Willietell (talkcontribs) 16:59, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Your removing the WP:attack template is inappropriate as the page is clearly intended to disparage Jehovah's witnesses by means of WP:Cherry . Note under WP:attack it states:

If the subject of the article is notable, but the existing page consists primarily of attacks against the subject of the article, and there's no good revision to revert to, then the attack page should be deleted

why would you delete this tag without discussion?Willietell (talk) 17:07, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

You are wrong, the page is not an attack page as defined by our criteria. As I have already said, if you believe the article should be deleted then take it to WP:AFD--Jac16888 Talk 17:10, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Actually, I already requested the article be deleted, but someone, after less than 24 hours, and little or no discussion, removed the tag. It seems that no one wants to make genuine efforts to correct the bias in this article, or at least some are determined not to allow time for honest discussion about making good faith improvements and convinced some administrator to quickly remove the tag before honest discussion could begin. Therefore, this page should be deleted.Willietell (talk) 17:38, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

So are you saying you opened Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jehovah's Witnesses beliefs? Have you read the comments people made? You're the only person who believes the page to be an attack--Jac16888 Talk 17:49, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Since that page was left open for only a matter of a few hours I think it's rather presumptuous to say that I was the only person who held that view. Perhaps had a reasonable time frame been allowed, others might have been able to express an opinion that concurred with mine, however we will never know, because the deletion tag was speedily removed in less than 1/2 of a day, just as the WP:attack tag was removed in a matter of minutes. Both occurrences would seem to bring into question a possible WP:coi by those removing the tags, since they did not allow a reasonable time for discussion to take place.Willietell (talk) 19:18, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

I would say if anybody should be suspected of a COI here it would be you. Yet again, if believe the article should be deleted, open a new AFD and give a convincing rationale--Jac16888 Talk 20:50, 30 December 2011 (UTC)

Hello

Hello! Can you tell my why you delete the page "Wellwer"? Your reason is: Article about a web site, blog, web forum, webcomic, podcast, browser game, or similar web content, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject.

Yes, this is true, but all articles of this list - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_social_networking_websites - are articles about web sites. Why their pages can be active, but mine is deleted???

Regards. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Yanisslav (talkcontribs) 23:05, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

You apparently did not notice the second part: "which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject", i.e. notability which is to be demonstrated through the use of reliable third party references, as should be the case for all articles on that list--Jac16888 Talk 23:12, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Please take a look at it again yourself, and read the tag properly. The article does not meet appear to meet our notability requirements, the sources provided to demonstrate this do not, links to a facebook group and the groups website are of no use, and the others provided make no mention of the group--Jac16888 Talk 04:08, 4 January 2012 (UTC)
While I agree with you that this article does not credibly indicate notability, we're had two objections to the speedy tag and a request for more time to add RS, so I despeedied it and marked it under construction, with a caution that this is not an indefinite stay of execution. (More controversially, I also tagged it as a possible hoax, which may be more my own lack of knowledge about the world of IRC chats, which the article's defenders claim is proof that it exists, and does the things the article has claimed). I have made a good faith effort to find RS with Google search and books, with no success, and anticipate us prodding or nominated for deletion shortly. Besides, Wikipedia probably messed up on their guidelines. I have no idea what "objectional" mean , and I wouldn't classify that as "offensive" definitely. If you could tell me if that's "objectional" I'll let the pictures stay there. However, if you DON'T, not only will I re-remove the images but I will edit Wikipedia is not Censored.

How many times, you have not signed a single post! What you just did above, not a signature because it doesn't link to you. See how my signature links to my talk page and user page? Its very simple, at the end of your comment, put 4 tildes (~) just like this . And wikipedia has a lot of images that are "offensive" to some people but they are informative. So you will not remove the images again, and you will not edit that page or else I will block you from editing. You need to take wikipedia seriously, or else not edit at all. It is not facebook, or a chatroom or playroom, if you can't get that then you shouldn't be editing here--Jac16888 <Talk 18:31, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

Whatever, you call it, I DO click the little pen and it types two dashes and four tildes, resulting in "--ObiwanLostToBarney (talk) 19:11, 8 January 2012 (UTC)". Besides, I DO take Wikipedia seriously, and if you pay attention to my last post, you will see that I "would not classify it as 'offensive'". But let's stop this flame war after this very comment. You do realize you'll find it easier to just drop all this and move on.

--ObiwanLostToBarney (talk) 19:11, 8 January 2012 (UTC).

See now you've done it right, see how its actually your name and it's linked rather than just "John Smith" like every other post. Removing pictures because you don't like them, posting giant cheeseburger images to pages and adding a barnstar after every comment, none of this is taking things seriously, nor is it productive --Jac16888 Talk 19:24, 8 January 2012 (UTC)

All right... Take it easy, Jac. That was three months ago. People grow. If Wikipedia is too fancy-shmancy and all about the politics and "formerly" and "governmental wholesomeness" to recognize that, then I'll leave this site.

Btw, I do not edit that page!

Maroslele

This article Maroslele has been on PNT for ages as needing cleanup and was marked as possibly an automated translation or someone who is not a dual speaker. My guess is by a Hungarian who does not speak English too well.

My missus speaks Hungarian as a native and English very well but like me we know to translate INTO our native language not out of it. So she translated this from HU:WP and then I cleaned it up into my version of good Wikipedian English. (Which reminds me I better add {{translated page}} onto it).

I would be grateful if you could cast a quick eye over it as there is a reference that I cannot get right. Probably just the time of night but the references in the {{infobox Hungarian settlement}} should automatically add into, via {{ksh url}}, a reference to the Hungarian Central Statistical Office. The articles we have done (we naively started at A and got about as far as Abony) work like this before someone stuck his foot in it and changed the template, a couple of years ago, because "thez can all be done by Infobox settlement" (yes they can but then you have three fields saying type of division, name of division, division, instead of county = Szongrad etc. My argument about specializing templates failed at TfD.)

I'd be very grateful if you could cast your eye over it to see if you could spot the no doubt obvious error. It's a pretty minor article but at least, one more ticked off from PNT.

My best wishes for the new year.

Si Trew (talk) 00:40, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Gah, sorry I cannot find it after a good number of attempts. Looked at other articles that use it as well, tried directly adding the link as well, I can't figure it out. Your best bet would be to ask at WP:VPT, they should be able to help you out. However nicely done on the article itself, your and your wife have done a good job with it--Jac16888 Talk 01:31, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Thanks, I should know it. It is probably a bit of white space or something that doesn't come up in the editor, something very similar like that. I did the same, I copied from Abony and Sulysap, the first being like top alphabetically and the first we did that way, the second where we have our family house in Hungary. Even copying those links in doesn't work, so I doubt it is the link itself, just something somewhere in the parser is not happy with something. I will find it, after all, I am a software engineer.
Thanks for your help and at least one more off the list. I noticed the other day the list of articles needing translation is very short these days! Rarely one comes up in French (too many French speakers) but I had a good go at a Tunisian football team the other day. It always opens a can of worms doing that, cos I imagine (I daredn't) the same translater did all the other Tunisan football teams (did them quite well but not idiomatic English) and I would end up doing the whole of the Algerian football leagues. That one was TR from French, although I know a little Arabic.
I don't know about you, but for me, it is not so much translating the words, it is doing all the links and markup etc that takes the time.
My very best wishes. At least, as it stands, it is much better than it was. It is only a minor article after all, and one ref error won't hurt too much. Si Trew (talk) 01:40, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
Ah well I think these days I tend to delete more than I translate, although I agree that often its the formatting that's most difficult. Yeah the list of non-english articles is nice and low, but the list of rough translations is getting me down, its pretty backed up on PNT, not to mention over 400 articles with the tag most of which aren't listed--Jac16888 Talk 01:45, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
I got the reference working by moving it outside the Infobox template. I see now what I had done, I had forgotten to put in population_total, which actually is the one that supplies the ref to which the others refer. Without that, one essentially gets no ref, although that is not what the error message says. Actually I found this by moving the ref out of the template (which it then worked() then checking the KSH and realising I had not actually put the population in the infobox. So much for debugging eh! I knew in the clear light of day it would be a simple error. The difficulty here is that the Wikipedia software doesn't elaborate templates inside references, which leads to why you have to butt up {{ksh url}} (which elaborates to Jac16888/Archive 17 at the Hungarian Central Statistical Office) against it with the KSH code put literally even though the template knows it, because the template parameter for the KSH code can't be elaborated when the parser elaborates the references. (Similar hoops are jumped through with {{harvnb}}, etc.) I took my cue here from {{INSEE}} on the French Wikipedia in the hope I could have it work the same way, but that works by something of a fluke in the way things are parsed. User:RichFarmbrough and I had a lot of fun trying to get this to work automatically (given the KSH code) rather than have to do this gubbins manually, but as it stands with the current Wikimedia software unfortunately one has to play these clever tricks to get it to work.
Now I remember, I can do some others. Once one gets going on them, they become easier, but I have left doing minor Hungarian settlements for so long that I had to kinda relearn it. I note the doc refers to {{ksh ref}} which was its original name, not {{ksh url}}, so I better fix that.
I don't do much on PNT these days since it is rare that a French article is lumped untranslated into EN:WP, although I seem to recall you and I together did a Spanish one some time back on a visual artist; my Spanish is not great but it was mostly lists of exhibitions etc so I could do all the markup etc and then I think you did the bits of running text I didn't feel qualified to translate. I did a Hungarian one a few weeks back that was not notable anyway so went for deletion (it was a CV essentially). So I do still keep an eye on PNT but it is not as busy as it once was. Which is good, really, but also a bit of a pity sometimes as I enjoy the challenge. Si Trew (talk) 10:29, 14 January 2012 (UTC)
The wife by the way is User:Monkap. She hasn't many contributions since we tend to do these things together for the Hungarian ones. This perhaps technically is a breach of the policy (I can't find it now) that one user should have one username; since we share an Internet address and often indeed a computer, as kinda pair programming for translation, it is very much a joint effort and another pair of eyes is always handy, so it is almost arbitrary whether it is her contribution or mine. For Hungarian articles, perhaps bizarelly, it tends to be mine as I tend to do the markup then paste in her translation and fix up any minor English grammar errors and for idiom. For English articles translated to HU:WP, of course the reverse happens. I suppose we could just both edit under the same name and nobody would be any the wiser or get hurt, but we are in fact different people with different opinions etc. Si Trew (talk) 10:54, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Articles needing cleanup (PNT)

Jac,

When you said "the list of articles needing cleanup is getting me down" I understand what you mean, some of them have been there for ages. My opinion is that the criterion is too strong, that it says "Pages listed here are "mostly done" but could still use some attention from someone who approaches dual-fluency." I have looked at many of those articles where I have no real knowledge of the source language, i.e. would not pretend to be approaching dual fluency, but have enough knowledge of linguistics in general and, in particular, some common gaffes made when translating into English, that I think many of these don't really need someone approaching dual fluency, but just a normal scan against WP:MOS and to put into more idiomatic English, check links, and so on. i.e. a gnome like me.

My argument here is that perhaps this criterion is too strong and puts people off editing them. Perhaps the criterion should be weakened from "someone approaching dual fluency"? It would be nice to have wording to suggest you could improve it if you

  • Understand the subject
  • Can understand the source language, even if using Google Translate, phrasebooks, intuition etc
  • Have a good command of English

What I am aiming at here is basically something that suits me, so I set out my stall here. I speak conversational French pretty well but don't ask me to give a lecture on the philosophy of Simone de Beauvoir or anything. I can get by in Spanish, do a bit of Latin, know a little Arabic, and the basics in Hungarian. None of these except French I would dare to say I am "dual fluent" in (and I don't think anyone is, really, except perhaps someone brought up from birth with parents with different native languages who then instill those in the child) but, once an article is translated, I can gnome it, check other versions on other WPs, sometimes even incorporate new content from different WPs (I notice the Esperanto version of Maroslele has a couple of facts not in the English or Hungarian version), and do the usual markup and so on. The criterion about it being needed to be done by someone of dual fluency is, I think, too strict and maybe puts people off (considering the banner that ends up on the article page itself, not the wording at PNT). All that is often required is a gnome who will do the usual cleanup, check references, put things into idiomatic English, change order for WP:MOS and so on. I just feel perhaps the wording is too strict.

This discussion, if you take it, is probably best put over at WT:PNT but I should appreciate your thoughts.

Here is a first go at an alternative wording (for PNT, then we can discuss the {{cleanup-translation}} wording separately or together as you prefer):

Pages listed here have been translated but need attention by a native English speaker. They may require some reworking to conform to the Wikipedia Manual of Style, because Wikipedias in different languages have different conventions. Please be bold and feel free to edit any of them.

What do you think? Si Trew (talk) 11:18, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

I'd say you're partly right here, for some of the articles on the list it is just a case of MOS editing and grammar and such, for example Niconium, but the real issue are the machine translated ones, where somebody has just taken a foreign language article and run it through google translate and posted that. Sometimes they're virtually unreadable, and often its very difficult to understand what a sentence is trying to say. I do what I can for the list, and often reduce articles to stubs or prod the really bad ones, but they keep being posted and the backlog is going nowhere, as can be seen here. For me, and I suspect a number of other regulars at PNT, tidying a bad translation is often actually harder than translating it in the first place--Jac16888 Talk 13:17, 14 January 2012 (UTC)

Napsac Backpack

Hello Jac,

I don't mean to advertise here, but where do you draw the line between revealing a new type of bag that people may want to be aware of and advertising? I'm happy if you want to mention the fact that there is a new and unique type of backpack - hence the patent - and you do not need to mention the website. Appreciate your concern,

Of course I am NOT saying that a type of backpack is as important as a cure for cancer - good grief! ABEL FULTON

Hello, Im not sure if you can help me or not, that abel fulton was on my computer earlier today. Im not very good on getting around on how to do things on your site but I love coming here to find info. but back to what i was saying, someone has hacked my computer and is doing these things to me. I cannot get ahold of anyone online or offline because they seem to stop me. They pretend to be me, sign credentials or digital signatures with my things on them that I don't even know how to use. I know how they are doing this I just cannot say because I don't know computer language, I have notes , and pictures and printouts of all there things I find on my computer. I know this is big what they are doing but don't know what to do. I don't know what to download or who to trust because they trick me all the time. I pretty much do not even own my computers anymore. I just wanted to say Im sorry but this is not me doing these things. I am very much a nice person and was devistated to read what they had wrote. something came up on my page can't remember what you or they called it purging bunny or some thing but to the effect that is was meant for me for writing about that poor abel guy. I have tried everything to get help but no one can get back through to me or I get shut down or its them faking me out as always. I am beginning to sound like a broken record to my self I have writen to so many people about this that I am getting tired of writing the same old line. Hopefully someone will catch them someday. I know I have all the info anyone would need to catch them I just don't know how to get it toanyone who will even help me. I hope you get this and again thats not me doing those things. I am sorry. Rune Factory

Can you please answer my question? I am sorry for trolling. I do not know how to write or read Japanese. I just want to know if children can ask their mom or dad what the Kanji mean and if there a options to make Katakana or Hiragana appear above the Kanji in Rune Factory games. Will they appear if you touch the Kanji line in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass? I aslo want to know if children can learn them by looking at the Kanji with Katakana or Hiragana above it.69.131.127.26 (talk) 13:54, 20 January 2012 (UTC)

I am Jahmon Highbaugh a very known individual that I see you have screwed me out of my fame and glory, which right now I am very well pissed! I have worked hard on many projects but this one was so important and you have deleted it, for unknown purposes. Our family has a tradition of fame through family ties and I just happen to be the next on the list, but nooo people just can't handle it! You choose to tell me I am guilty of copyright infringement sounds like a law suit just ready to tip the balance scales and other nasty little statements. Are you sure you want to go dwon that road!!! Im pretty sure since I own the title to my name and copyrights to my science things probably will tip my way if we did go to court on liability or fraud, so how about a real big apology and resetting your computers or whatever it is that you do. I woill enjoy that and that other little guy that stated I made eugenology....I had nothing to do with that! I feel now like a smuck.. and that somebody just smack me so hard with reality so really you owe the favor so lets see how far we have to go for this allegation!

Henry Street Music

BillKlatt (talk) 19:20, 25 January 2012 (UTC)I would like to update, expand, add discography, RIAA certifications, and set this page up properly, I have researched the relevance and have links to support, I would like to add and edit to the following if you approve.

Henry Street Music

New York Underground Dance label started in 1993 by Johnny “D” De Mairo.

The label was originally distributed by Northcott Productions and later switched to Strictly Rhythm Records for a few years.

Henry Street Music roster is the “who’s who” in house music and has had releases from just about anyone relevant in the genre.

Some of the biggest releases on the label are Kenny Dope presents The Bucketheads “The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)”, Armand Van Helden presents Old School JunkiesThe Funk Phenomena”, DJ Sneak “Show Me The Way”, Scotti Deep “Brooklyn Beats”.

The roster consists of music from: Little Louie Vega, Todd Terry, Johnick, 95 North, Robbie Tronco, Davidson Ospina, Ashley Beedle to name a few.

The label is still operating today and releasing music digitally and occasional vinyl and CD releases.

As I said before, you need to demonstrate notability through the use of reliable third party references. I suggest you create a draft in your userspace so you can work on it without it being deleted.--Jac16888 Talk 19:27, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Pages_needing_translation_into_English#January_25 outlines what is going on. Thanks, the WP: area seems hard to navigate for me. I hoped that flagging it in an /Not English/ area that some one that knows the policy better than I can shed light on the matter since I am up against an Administrator who seems to deflect the matter dispite it being very clear what the common English name is. Finding the Request moves page or some thing like that was my next before going to the edit warring. Spshu (talk) 23:03, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

edits to Mahabharata

Hello!

I would like to add the following edits to the Mahabharata page; could you please do it for me?

All three of these writers have their own Wikipedia page.

The novelist Sharon Maas has published a condensed English e-book version titled Sons of God – the Mahabharata Retold under the pen name Aruna Sharan.

The Indian writer Ashok Banker has completed a new translation of the original epic; the first two volumes of this work have been published as e-books.

Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni’s novel Palace of Illusions is a work derivative of the Mahabharata; it tells the story from the point of view of the main female character, Draupadi.

MSU Interview

Dear Jac16888,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.
  • Interviews can be conducted over skype (preferred), IRC or email. (You choose the form of communication based upon your comfort level, time, etc.)
  • All interviews will be completely anonymous, meaning that you (real name and/or pseudonym) will never be identified in any of our materials, unless you give the interviewer permission to do so.
  • All interviews will be completely voluntary. You are under no obligation to say yes to an interview, and can say no and stop or leave the interview at any time.
  • The entire interview process is being overseen by MSU's institutional review board (ethics review). This means that all questions have been approved by the university and all students have been trained how to conduct interviews ethically and properly.

Bottom line is that we really need your help, and would really appreciate the opportunity to speak with you. If interested, please send me an email at obar@msu.edu (to maintain anonymity) and I will add your name to my offline contact list. If you feel comfortable doing so, you can post your name HERE instead.

If you have questions or concerns at any time, feel free to email me at obar@msu.edu. I will be more than happy to speak with you.

Thanks in advance for your help. We have a lot to learn from you.

Sincerely,

Jonathan Obar --Jaobar (talk) 07:06, 12 February 2012 (UTC)

Sigh, I was trying to get that properly referenced, but doing that with Filipino Fraternities is *difficult*. Maybe I can convince User:Jobads23 to work on it in a sandbox. BTW, what looks like their actual official site got pulled because they didn't pay the hosting fees any more.Naraht (talk) 04:10, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't they'll take a hint. My main issue it that it's quite obvious Jobads is the "chancellor" or at least part of the group, and the content he was adding was blatantly promotional. And if they don't even have a working website it doesn't suggest much about their notability either, can't saying I'm buying the "1000+ chapters"--Jac16888 Talk 10:54, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
They rarely do. I don't think he was chancellor, but he definitely was a brother. Not doubting on promotional, but working website is considerably less important in the Philippines than it would be for a US. Just to pick an example of a small NIC (American) Fraternity, Kappa Delta Phi probably only has a quarter of the number of chapters of Kappa Rho Kappa, but is written in a non-promotional manner. I wonder if an Essay on creating pages about Filipino Fraternities would be worthwhile. (And there are a few that aren't horrible, like Aquila Legis)Naraht (talk) 11:36, 23 February 2012 (UTC)
Looks like this *user* may be an exception. He has asked nicely at my talk page for help. There are probably still pieces he doesn't get (since it is phrased as how can we keep the KRK page from being deleted, but it is a step. Hopefully, there is enough in the Zamboanga Today newspaper and Filipino Universities to at least make a decent stub.Naraht (talk) 16:38, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

For starters all this stuff like "GREAT FOUNDERS" and "Most Eminent KRK" and "through many hardships and painstaking efforts". Stop writing as though you are writing a story, it needs to be cold hard facts, nothing more. And as you have been told on more than one occasion, the most important thing is that you find reliable 3rd party references. If you are unable to do so then the article will be deleted again--Jac16888 Talk 22:00, 23 February 2012 (UTC)

Hi,

You recently re-inserted the redirect on the former talk page of one of my former usernames. I had added a a comment as an attempt to re-rout the new users who had edited the page for some odd reason instead of the talk page of my current username. Would there be a way to add a notice to go to my current talk page on the redirect? Thanks, --GouramiWatcher (Gulp) 01:49, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

Well that's what a redirect does, reroutes to the new username, if a user ignores that, then they probably won't see a notice either. The reason I redirected it is because now you've changed your name, it is ownerless, and if it's not a redirect it adds to one of my weekly backlogs--Jac16888 Talk 12:53, 27 February 2012 (UTC)
