Keep it up!
[edit]@J man708: Hey man, I like what you have done so far. You just having a break from it for a while? Looks like you are pretty close to finishing :-) —Eccy89 (talk) 12:18, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
- It gets harder as it expands. Chasing down info from the lower leagues is just... Yeah... Not great! - J man708 (talk) 12:20, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
- haha, nice link! do you need some help with the lower leagues then? i can make edits to that page hey? I'm working on some pretty epic tables/history of Football NSW at the moment, but will try have a look if you like. also, can you make a decision on your view about Austin and get involved in that debate!? —Eccy89 (talk) 12:36, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
- Feel free to edit it! Also, sadly I don't have a view on the topic! It's a real line ball decision. Jai Ingham seems to have a similar issue, despite being born here, he was selected for Samoa's OFC Nations Cup squad (even though he didn't play). - J man708 (talk) 14:20, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
- @J man708: DUDE!! I continued with what I thought you were doing. Then I thought, I think this is what it originally looked like many years ago. Hav'a look at this: [1]
- [2] It appears 2nyte had had enough by 14 February 2013 and just cut through the whole thing. I havent seen a discussion about on the talk page suggesting the massive cut. Though, I think it may be really hard to keep a comprehensive list like that old one anyway. —Eccy89 (talk) 14:40, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
- I reckon that's a much better template to utilise for it. I'm just recovering from heart surgery, so I'm gonna not be editing much for a while! - J man708 (talk) 11:58, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
- Heart surgery, dude, WTF? like emergency surgery? hope the recovery goes well —Eccy89 (talk) 12:20, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
- Not even kidding. Had a metal prod inserted into an artery in my groin, all the way up my heart, pierced through one side into the other, finding the part of my heart that has been short-circuiting the electrics and subsequently having that part fried off. It's called an Ablation. It's some seriously messed up shit to think of, especially at my age! (I'm assuming with the 89 in your name, that I'm younger than you being a 90 kid?) - J man708 (talk) 14:37, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
- But yeah, the recovery is not as painful as you'd think, but still unpleasant as shit. Thanks to the opioids they had me on, I'm dealing with their side effects. It was fun being high as a kite, but afterwards as the pain kicks back in, it's a bitch. - J man708 (talk) 14:40, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
- Yeah man, 89 kid here! so you were having arrhythmia episodes for a while? was it elective surgery? are you studying or working fulltime? —Eccy89 (talk) 02:30, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
- I'd had Atrial Flutter and Atrial Fibrillation it since early January. I spent a week in hospital with a heartbeat higher than 175 at points, which caused me to have a Pulmonary edema. That within itself is pretty scary. I was studying before, but now my GP and my doctor have strongly advised me to not do too much in the way of work, so I'm just being a pleb at the moment. That's why I'm normally so active on Wiki. Still contributing to society in some way! As for elective surgery, I think it would've been more life-threatening had I not been in so soon after being diagnosed with it all and being 25 years of age and shit. Either way, my heart now beats in a sinus rhythm, but is still only pumping at 37% output efficiency, so that's still gonna be a long road to recover from. - J man708 (talk) 06:52, 26 June 2016 (UTC)

- pretty epic man. were you very active before? eg. playing soccer etc.? –Eccy89 (talk) 13:17, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
- I hadn't played in a while. Last team I played for was Uni SA in the Collegiate Soccer League, in 2011. I definitely could've been fitter than I am, but now I think my playing days could be over. Not that big a deal. Who knows. Could even get into coaching for the lulz at some point. - J man708 (talk) 04:59, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- Do you feel it has impacted significantly on your lifestyle? You've obviously gotta go see your cardiologist again soon. Sorry for the twenty questions. I work in healthcare. —Eccy89 (talk) 08:45, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- Also, down the list in regional leagues; if district has a "Premier League" with "Reserves" should they count as TWO tiers or one? eg. in NSW - Granville has structure: Premier League, PL Reserves, Super League, SL Reserves, All Ages Div 5....All Ages 10. Canterbury has structure: Bill Brackenbury Cup (PL), All Ages Div 1....All Ages Div 14. i think even blacktown has PL/PLR/PL20, then Division 1-plenty. So not sure how to tier this, should reserves really be like a 0.5 on the tier? Granville obviously uses them as full tiers PL-SLR = 4 tiers. Hope this makes sense... —Eccy89 (talk) 13:42, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- Hey man, feel free to ask away! I'll answer what I can! Reserves should be one tier, but then Div 1. I mean, the National Youth League would be strong enough to beat tier 3 teams and undoubtedly some state league clubs could beat the shittier NPL teams, but this is what you get with a set-up like Australia's, I guess... =/ - J man708 (talk) 15:15, 27 June 2016 (UTC)
- Well yeah, but the NYL teams are in the NPL setup now anyway so not quite sure what you mean. My instinct is that they should go on one tier together, however, this Granville thing has put a little spanner in the works for me. Check out how I've tiered them here —Eccy89 (talk) 11:49, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

- J man708 Hey man. Was just thinking about this system again. I think the path you wanted to go down would not only be super time consuming but it probably doesn't really add any value to system as they are really amateur. Kind of like Brazilian football league system. Also, I think logically the "regional" leagues should really be all the same tier. I think something more like User:Eccy89/Australian soccer league system#Mark II would probably more appropriate. Where I have put regional leagues, instead of setting out with all amateur leagues, just listing the associations should suffice (perhaps with indication of how many divisions they have if available). —Eccy89 (talk) 11:29, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
- Hey chief, sorry about my tardiness of late. Had people over and am still recuperating from surgery, so I'm not feeling myself. The issue with this that I see is that these competitions are steps and not tiers, you know? IE - A-League being step 1; NPL as step 2; state leagues as 3 and regional leagues as 4 (generally). Because of this, we've got a position wherein the third highest step a club can play in, in QLD is a (3), whereas in Victoria, a club playing regionally is a (9). While the differences in skill may be negligible, it's still worth noting that these clubs are from different leagues, which correspond to different tiers.
- Don't get me wrong, I see where you're coming from by aligning all the regional leagues (and in an ideal world, they would align), however placing the top division of the SA Collegiate League at the same tier as the Bendigo Amateur League doesn't really calculate. The Collegiate League's top flight is the equal fourth highest league in SA. The league in Bendigo comes in under the State League 5, which makes it the equal eighth highest league in VIC. Then of course, they (like all the other zones [NT included]) in turn all fall under the A-League, which is the pinnacle of Australian football. - J man708 (talk) 21:07, 15 July 2016 (UTC)
