Deletion discussion about Dallas Buyer's Club Jared Leto
[edit]Hello, J chotto,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Dallas Buyer's Club Jared Leto should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Dallas Buyer's Club Jared Leto .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.
Thanks, TheLongTone (talk) 15:40, 6 November 2015 (UTC)
Articles
[edit]Hey, just wanted to let you know that I've moved this back to your sandbox. The long and short of the article is that while there is some rationale for including this material (to a certain degree) in the main article for the film, this topic hasn't really gained enough coverage to where the reception to Leto's character would necessarily merit its own article at this point in time. It's generally difficult for characters to have notability outside of the parent article because most coverage usually only mentions the character in relation to the film, in passing.
Your best bet here would be to see if you could make a subsection in the main article or to flesh out the coverage of this character in the reception section. I'd highly recommend that you work on a copy in your userspace (you can expand/alter your sandbox draft for this) and then propose the addition on the talk page for DBC. The WP:TEAHOUSE or Wikipedia:WikiProject LGBT studies would both be excellent places to go and ask for help with drafting this.
If you do need to have a new article or a substantial addition, your best bet is to try find a person from LGBT history that hasn't been covered. Books and film can also sometimes be excellent topics as well. Offhand, I can see a few articles in the various LGBT related categories that could use some expansion and/or basic tweaking to make them flow better. I do see that the class is about more than just sexuality related topics, but since your article was about a transgender person I thought that it'd be best to find something that was slightly within the same area. Here are some of the suggestions:
Film

- Magical Thinking (book)
People
[edit]Hopefully one of these will be helpful with your assignment, if you need to do something else in a hurry. Some of these do already have content, but need to be finessed or have sources added to back up the claims. Of course you don't have to choose any of these, but I know that sometimes it's helpful to have some suggestions. You could also see if any of the books on this list by the ALA would warrant an article, since being put on their list could mean that the book would pass WP:NBOOK. Feel free to message me on my userpage if you have any questions. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 09:23, 13 November 2015 (UTC)
