[edit]Talk page archiving
[edit]I notice you archived a talk page there... just a note for the future, it's less confusing if you don't use the 'move' button in order to do this, it causes all sorts of confusion with watch pages, and redirects. -- 9cds(talk) 14:01, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

Edit summaries
[edit]When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. -- 9cds(talk) 14:16, 2 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit]I've re-done the layout, looks a bit better in my opinion. Does the expand tag need to be on the article anymore, do you think? Or is there anything else you could add to it? You can reply on here, or on my talk page; I don't mind. --JD[don't talk|email] 09:20, 3 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ya, I'll take that off myself. Thanks heaps, bro. It looks so much better. Cultureshocklewis 23:23, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
- No worries. If there's anything else I can help with, feel free to ask. --JD[don't talk|email] 23:26, 4 July 2006 (UTC)
Hi, you deleted this image giving the reason, "The image is not necessary to understanding how the voting system works". While I don't have a problem with the reason you gave, I'd like to ask if you could have a second look at it, as other people have said that this particular image makes the part of the article relevant to it, easier to understand; especially since it's something that hasn't been used before. Thanks. --JD[don't talk|email] 23:56, 7 July 2006 (UTC)
- Since you just left a message on my talk page, it's probably not too risky to leave a message here. See Wikipedia:Fair use criteria. I don't feel that the image meets #8. I don't need to know how the voting system looks on the screen; it's adequately described in the text for me to understand it. Thus, the image ends up only serving as decoration. However, please feel free to take it to Wikipedia:Deletion review if you disagree. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 00:15, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
- I think the image did enhance the article, but not "significantly", so I'm not going to contest your decision to delete the image. Thanks for getting back to me on it. --JD[don't talk|email] 00:20, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Templates
[edit]I have never made a template befopre butr I need to make some for a wikiproject I am planning to start-WP:NOIDASCHOOLS. The same rudimentary ones , an infobox and a template for the talkpages. I would glad if you can help me with it because the help page is just a good enough tutorial. Unitedroad 12:17, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I want to make an infobox like wiki has one for the cola brans around the world. I am trying to plagiarize the talkpage template of wikipedia:wikiproject_Big_Brother but I didn't copy paste entirely and typed the the lines myself so I could learn the syntax. The result just isn't coming right.
This is the template :
{{Secondary schools Noida}}
Unitedroad 12:17, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I changed the colour codes maybe that is the problem.
Unitedroad 12:18, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
As in herew, I can't grasp why the syntax to this infobox is different from the previous template.
Unitedroad 12:35, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I got it right now.........thanks for the help :).
Unitedroad 12:22, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I am also there now. Hopefully this will work too soon enough.
Unitedroad 12:25, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Well part of the problem is the problem is that I don't understand the syntax of it. I can guess what it mean when I see it but I often don't know why all thoe code comes in a certain order. I could understand it in the simplest of userbox syntaxes but beyond it , it gets rather difficult to grasp.
Unitedroad 12:32, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
The link to the templace isn't working. Can you give it to me again?
Unitedroad 12:42, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Its ok but well the IInfobox you have really shows how it is to code in wikipedia and it will take one to cover alot of ground before he catches up with those who create these tools used in all the articles.
Unitedroad 13:09, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Thanks alot for the help hope you won't mind I contact you whenever I need help again.
Unitedroad 13:12, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
Yes it will definitely come in handy, if someone laters suggests a change to it and I can't work it out then can I ask you to incorporate that into it? Thanks for making this infobox. I am glad you helped me . :)
Unitedroad 13:22, 8 July 2006 (UTC)
I'll do it now . Thanks again for help .:) Unitedroad 13:34, 8 July 2006 (UTC)

Hunter91
I think u should investigate that Hunter91 is a sockpuppet of Jedihunter. I have explained to Hunter about David Comleys rights on his talk page.
Im pretty sure any way Hunter911 that he is sockpuppet of Jedihunter or jedimasterhunter. Anyway if u follow the link "an example of a battle field 2 clan" it brings up Jedi Order which is an existing clan which vandalised the Rome Total War page. This user is still an active vandal but using one usernbame to do "good", while the other he vandalises.--General Oumrov 20:01, 18 July 2006 (UTC)
Not quite vandalism
[edit]Hey, check the diff before you revert. I was "vandalising" User:Minun's user page with a picture of former president Richard Nixon, as a good-natured joke. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 18:51, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- I saw what you did, but I thought it was just plain vandalism. Sorry. --JD[don't talk|email] 18:53, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Are there a lot of vandals who use Nixon's picture? I've used it a lot of times for ironic "vandalism," because I thought it couldn't possibly be taken as anything but a joke. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 18:55, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well next time I won't revert it then, if I see you using it. Sorry again. --JD[don't talk|email] 18:57, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Sorry, I just realized that that could come off really harshly. I meant it conversationally and in earnest; Wikipedia's had some really, really weird vandals before (Squidward, a fish guy for a while, someone who was vandalizing cat with awful pictures of cats, etc.), and I didn't want to be unknowingly duplicating a real vandal. I've been blocked as a Platus Satire sock before, for example. - A Man In Bl♟ck (conspire | past ops) 19:01, 19 July 2006 (UTC)
- Oh, right. Okay then, no problem. --JD[don't talk|email] 19:03, 19 July 2006 (UTC)

Issues with this user
[edit]I have to question your motives in reverting the article on BB7 so many times. For one who apparently watches so little of Big Brother, you certainly hold some staunch views of it. I find it extremely difficult to not lose my rag with you, I tried to get the whole issue sorted by way of a discussion on the talk page, but you didn't contribute. And now, three days later, you are still removing my posts.
Do you have a particular fixation with me or my posts? Or do you assume this draconian stance with all the others articles you edit (or have ever edited? I really have to question your motives on this, as it is beyond a joke.
I don't want to sound rude or intrusive, but do you have some sort of personality disorder? It would certainly explain a lot. If you remove this, it just goes to show how much of a cretin you really are.
Oh and by the way, three reverts for the second time? It doesn't look good. 88.110.25.215 22:56, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm reverting it for the reasons I've already put forth to you on the talk page of the relevant article; it has nothing to do with the fact that you're the person removing the informatioon. I don't have a personality disorder, and don't quite understand why you would think I might. I wouldn't remove a post from another editor; I always reply to messages. And for the record, I'm reverting your edits on the basis of it being vandalism. --JD[don't talk|email] 23:00, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
You haven't put forward any reasons for reverting it other than that you did not agree with it. That is what this whole debate is about. You never did outline what you felt was good with this information included, despite being online for 10+ hours per day, as I can see. And regarding the personality disorder, well from what I can tell you just seem a little too eager to correct everybody. There's a healthy addiction and un unhealthy one, I agree Wikipedia is an excellent resource but there is no need to substitute it for everyday life. See: employment. 88.110.25.215 23:11, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- Yeah, hilarious. I told you that the information you want to remove further backs up the fact that Michael doesn't like Richard, and the other thing about him wanting to retain his masculinity, or something like that. I'm not eager to correct everybody; in fact it would appear you're either trying to make things up, or exaggerate things to a bit of an extreme. —JD[don't talk|email] 23:14, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm baffled as to why anyone would fine the topic of Employment hilarious. Truly a bizarre reaction. It's just a fact of life nowadays for most people. Why won't you just outline to me now, on your talk page, why you have issues with Richard? It's painfully obvious that you are a regular BB viewer (you appear to have an obsessive personality, going by your Wikipedia contributions) so we both know you watch a lot more of than you state openly. It's a great shame that a user like yourself cannot keep him/herself from posting opinionated nonsense. I bet you are enjoying my 'adverse' reaction, you clearly ask for Wikipedians not to remove any threats or offensive statements vandals leave on this here page. I bet you're loving this (...again the psycho-analyists amongst us can see another bizarre character trait). 88.110.25.215 23:52, 26 July 2006 (UTC)
- My reaction wasn't to the article; but more to the fact that you advised I read it. My reaction to that is irrelevant; nonetheless. I haven't lied to you at all - I, at the time of saying so, hadn't watched more than four hours of Big Brother 7 UK. That's now 6 hours; but is still a low amount given that it has been on for ten weeks. I don't have issues with Richard; my personal opinion is irrelevant to the situation and the article. The only reason I am reverting the information is because it should stay in the article. The situation has gone as far as people that aren't even involved in the article commenting on it; and every time you've removed the information, it's been reverted.
- My request that others refrain from removing threats and offensive statements was not posted there in reaction to anything linked to your direct or indirect involvement. I made that request as I would prefer anything posted on my talk page stays there so that it can easily be found should it need to be referenced. --JD[don't talk|email] 00:00, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, see that is why I think you should really seek medical advice. I don't mean that in a condescending way, I truly do want to help you. I'm sure your parents have turned a blind eye to it, or simply just don't have time to 'bother' with you. I know the feeling, of course I was there once. Kudos to you, your input to Wikipedia is immense, but I do genuinely think a psychotherapist could help you out, and get over your obsessive personality. I cannot stand junk science or hypnotherapy, it's all garbage if you ask me. But a trained professional could help you get over your fears of being corrected. There is nothing wrong with being wrong, you don't seem to grasp that. Anyway, please let me know how you get on, my email address is spunko2010@hotmail.co.uk. Good luck 88.110.25.215 00:09, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't have an obsessive personality - if I had anything better to do at 0113, I'd be doing it. You don't know how I live my life; what I do, or when I do it; so don't try to think you know how my life is. I don't have anything to prove to you, so unless you want to move this discussion back to the article, don't bother replying. --JD[don't talk|email] 00:14, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
I'm sorry if I hit a nerve, but really. I'm sure you can understand why some people would see it that way. But... thinking of things to do at 0113, how about going to bed? Just my two cents. Go on, turn it off. Click Start, Shut Down. Be brave. Please, for me. 88.110.25.215 00:29, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Why don't you just stop talking to me unless it's about the article to which you yourself are presenting obsessive traits? If I'm tired, I'll go to bed. If I'm not tired, I'll do whatever I want to do. Okay? --JD[don't talk|email] 00:35, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Okay. You are obviously too young and naive to comprehend what I am trying to put across here. I'm sorry if I have offended you. But please, if you do just one thing, do some research on sociopathy. I'm only recommending it, it might not be useful to you. I'm sure I had that when I was younger. Lastly, I hope you don't mind me asking, but I cannot see a way to continue this discussion in private. Are you obese or very overweight? 88.110.25.215 00:38, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Are you deliberately trying to offend me or something? This has gone on for more than long enough; and if you don't drop it, or take the conversation back to the original subject, I'm going to start issuing warnings. --JD[don't talk|email] 00:42, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
No, I am not trying to offend you. If I were trying to do that, I wouldn't have asked if you were overweight, I would have assumed you were and would have started to drop names, like 'fatty' or 'pillowhead' (these were names I was called). The reason I ask is because I was also very fat, that's why I had no confidence and I spent a long time alone, on the Internet. This was back in 2000. I just want to know more about you, I'm not asking for your home address or anything like that! I just want to help a fellow human being. If my love for another human being startles or offends you then I am so sorry! 88.110.25.215 00:46, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- There's no "also" about it - your tragic childhood is nothing like mine. As I've said before, cease from this subject of conversation, or I will start issuing warnings. This is your last, er, warning. --JD[don't talk|email] 00:49, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, you're very rude! I was only trying to get to know about your situation. I'm not a paedophile or anything like that, though I'm sure you doubt my motives in talking to you! Can't you just regress from your silly little persona for a moment or two? You aren't a doctor, you aren't a barrister; you're just a Wikipedian with too much time and not enough love! How tragic it sounds! That sounds too similar to my situation... woe is me!! Anyway, I've tried and I've failed. Tried is also an anagram for tired, that which I am. Goodnight MR JD_UK. (Remember what I have said though, please. Remove it if you will, I shan't care too much whilst I am in the land of nod, only to revert it back tomorrow anyway). Sleep well my pansy. 88.110.25.215 00:54, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- OK, 88.110.25.215. That enough. It is possible that you need to read (or re-read) WP:CIV. Your comments are coming increasing close to qualifying as WP:ATTACK. Whatever content disputes you two are having, personal issues are irrelevant. IrishGuy talk 00:59, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
We aren't having a dispute of any kind. Nothing to see here, move along please. 88.110.25.215 01:02, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Stop
[edit]Man why do you keep removing those external links, man it was hard to find those. I even added a bunch of stuff to the article why do you want to merge it, everything I Do you have to have a say in it. I mean like no disrepect but God. --So Fresh and So Clean_Wish U Was Me 02:25, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- Youtube links are normally major copyvio. And I didn't suggest the merge; I simply put back the tag that you removed. --JD[don't talk|email] 02:27, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Instead
[edit]JD instead of delting the article because it doesn't have the extent of information you want it to I'll just merge it somewhere into the Aaliyah article. --So Fresh and So Clean_Wish U Was Me 03:23, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't say there was anything wrong with the amount of information. If anything, it's too detailed. You also must cite your sources. Don't do any merging until you have it sorted out, and have checked that it conforms with WP:REF and WP:MOS; otherwise it will be reverted. --JD[don't talk|email] 03:26, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

- I can't believe you put this user on your friends list. If this is what you look for in a friend then you need to seek medical advice. I'll cut off your penis if I ever find you JD_UK, it will make you useless to men. 88.111.91.187 17:51, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Waste of a life.
[edit]Why are you always online? Don't you get headaches or backaches sitting in front of a computer for 12+ hours a day? You really are a sad human being, I pity you to be honest. 88.111.91.187 17:56, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- I don't sit at my computer for long periods of time. I leave it switched on a lot, and I always seem to be at it when stuff happens. --JD[don't talk|email] 17:57, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
Well, our definitions of a 'long periods of time' probably vary by at least 5 hours. Are you physically disabled? That is the only suitable reason I could think of as to why someone would be online from 12-15 hours a day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.110.174.157 (talk • contribs) 18:07 (UTC), July 27 2006
- If I'm physically disabled, why are you the one that's still talking to me, after two blocks? —JD[don't talk|email] 18:07, 27 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'm sorry but that doesn't make any sense. "If I'm physically disabled, why are you talking to me?" Are you suggesting I am physically disabled? You are just a complete non-entity. I hope they give you an award for the 'most pointless waste of a life on Wikipedia'. 88.109.214.190 23:31, 27 July 2006 (UTC)

You may find this useful
[edit]You use Popups a lot to revert peoples edits, but you never give a reason in your edit summaries. I have been working on a JS tool which puts revert links and other stuff at the top of diff pages with the option of leaving a reason in the edit summary which you may find useful. So in a bit of shameless advertising: Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/Revert tools. Cheers. --LorianTC 22:17, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Looks good, thanks for the info. I don't know how much I'd actually use it though, as I use popups so I don't have to look at the page; but I've added the script to my monobook. Thanks. —JD[don't talk|email] 22:20, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
No problem, I see it works. :) I figured I would make myself a script to automatically revert edits with a better message than "rv", then I kept adding stuff. You said you can use popups without looking at the page, but how would you be sure it's vandalism or something else that needs reverting? --LorianTC 22:25, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- If you hover over (last) or (cur) in the watchlist, or anywhere else, it shows you the changes in the popup. —JD[don't talk|email] 22:26, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Ah I see, well I always use the diff links so it's useful for me. :) --LorianTC 22:30, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
- Well it's not always easy to see what's been changed from using the popups alone, and when a page is blanked I like to check it with the diff, so your tool will definitely get used some of the time. —JD[don't talk|email] 22:34, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Good to hear. --LorianTC 22:49, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
More JammXKids AfDs
[edit]I tagged some for speedy via A7. They're mostly gone. All the rest I could list are now in AfD as well. Their home page is unreadable via Ubuntu & Firefox, so I'm having trouble checking there for possible copyvio. --DarkAudit 14:35, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I didn't look too much into the JammXKids website... I could look at it a bit more to see if there's more copyvios, and maybe get those pages deleted quicker. —JD[don't talk|email] 14:39, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I got most of them, but couldn't find any copyvio for Alyson Stoner, which looks like the only decent article out of the lot of them. —JD[don't talk|email] 14:49, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- That's the last one I need to check. The rest are tagged for making unsourced claims. Guess I'll have to fire up IE to check that last one :) --DarkAudit 14:52, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I wouldn't worry about Alyson Stoner. If you look in the edit history, Cute 1 4 u didn't create the article; and it looks unlikely that it is a copyvio. —JD[don't talk|email] 14:59, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I followed the Wikipedia:Copyright problems procedures for January Malkus. I didn't see a link on the Evan Saucedo page to do the same. --DarkAudit 19:29, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- Ah, yes, that's it. The link for that Evan guy is the same, what with it being a Flash site and all. —JD[don't talk|email] 19:38, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

- WP:CSD#Categories Specifies the criteria for speedy deletion of categories, notability is not a factor for speedy deletion of categories. Categories themselves are generally non-notable. If the category only contains non-notable entries, they should be dealt with, then the category can be speedy deleted as empty. This delisting was certainly without prejudice for you listing the category at WP:CFD — xaosflux Talk 18:10, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
- I'll take the discussion there, then. The category will soon be down to one article as it is. --DarkAudit 19:08, 30 July 2006 (UTC)
Please check to see that articles you nominate for deletion are not vandalized version of legitimate articles. Just check the article's history first, it'll save us all a lot of trouble. Rklawton 04:01, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
License tagging for Image:BB06-FSE.JPG
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:BB06-FSE.JPG. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:05, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- I have added the tv-screenshot tag. --LorianTC 14:07, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Unjustified reverting at BB06 australia by you
[edit]Please stop reverting my research on the housemate Lauren. The information is claerly relevant and there is a set precedent for inlcuding press coverage on the housemates behavior once they are released from the house, see Michael's section, which includes his pub punch up which also got media coverage. If his pub punch up is allowed to stay then why is not Laurens pub incident and it was in the paper you reverts are unjustified. I cannot see how can continue to revert this,.--0000001 17:39, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- The information in Michael's section is relevant because it further explains behaviour that was seen while he was in the House. The information you want to add to Lauren's section is not relevant at all for two reasons. Firstly, she hardly did anything while she was in the House anyway, and didn't get much airtime. Secondly, any behaviour she did display, unless there's something I missed, isn't relevant to the fact that she was kicked out of a pub or a hotel, or whatever. If you have any other reason for why it should be included, please tell me. —JD[don't talk|email] 17:44, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
There is much reason to include this, I complete disagree it further explains Michaels behavior in the house to include his law breaking...how does it....was he punching up people in the house and it continued? no. The inclusion of everybodies poor morals, law breaking, and poor behavior is all relevant to be included. As it all builds together to show a pattern of out of control people that they all are. The speed dealing of Jamie, the punch ups of michael, the drunk and disorderly of Lauren, Camilla saying she screwed 24 guys, the two rapists or whatever they are the sexual assaults or whatever, it all fits together to show how much of a pattern of behavior.--0000001 17:50, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
- Jamie's drug dealing is something that he spoke about. Michael was already disliked by many housemates while in the house, and many suggestions and assumptions were made about his sexual orientation, especially with the footage of David and himself in the bathroom. The information you want to add about Lauren is irrelevant, and hardly notable. If Lauren killed somebody while she was being thrown out of the hotel, that would certainly be worthy of inclusion; that would come fairly close to what Michael did to the student he punched. Lauren did nothing like this, she didn't do drugs, she didn't root two gay guys, she didn't come close to losing her virginity. She did nothing like this when she got thrown out of the hotel or pub, she just got thrown out. That makes it unnotable and unimportant. If you still think it is worthy of inclusion, I suggest you discuss it on the article's talk page. —JD[don't talk|email] 17:57, 31 July 2006 (UTC)
